RedAxePlay UK Review (2024)

Having been launched towards the end of 2021, RedAxePlay remains one of the UK's newest sports betting sites. As with a lot of outlets these days, the site combines a sportsbook with an online casino, so users can place a wager on the big game or try their luck at some slots.

Part of the ProgressPlay Limited empire, RedAxePlay is a similar sportsbook to many of its sister sites. But can RedAxePlay stand out in the UK's very crowded online betting world? Let's take a look.

RedAxePlay Sportsbook Review

The RedAxePlay sportsbook is a little basic, in line with what users of any other ProgressPlay Limited would likely expect. The site is built on the same structure as PPL's range of sister sites so those who are familiar with any of the ProgressPlay brands will find their way around easily.

New customers who sign up for a RedAxePlay sports betting account can get a £10 free bet if they deposit £10 and place a qualifying bet at minimum odds of 1.5. This is not close to the best welcome bonus on offer at UK betting sites, but it at least gives new customers a small boost. As is the case at the other ProgressPlay sportsbooks in the UK, RedAxePlay is also running a deal called Free Bet Mondays. Customers who place £40 worth of qualifying bets will be given a £20 free bet to use on the site. This ensures the RedAxePlay bonuses are not just for newbies.

As for the sportsbook itself, RedAxePlay covers most of the bases that UK sports fans would expect. However, ProgressPlay brands tend to lack options when it comes to horse racing and betting on greyhound racing. Unfortunately, this is also the case for RedAxePlay. Only USA horse racing is available to bet on, so fans of the sport of kings who are used to having dozens of UK and Irish races to browse every single day, will have to check out the top ten sites for the sport instead.

Football is the leading sport at the RedAxePlay sportsbook in the UK. Premier League fans will find there are around 400 different markets for a typical big game in the competition. All the basics such as both teams to score are available as well as a few more niche options like being able to bet on a specific team missing a penalty, or triple chance any time goalscorer markets. The odds for football, as with most of the other sports on offer at RedAxePlay, are mostly OK without ever being generous enough to trouble any of the leading football betting sites.

Esports betting is all the rage nowadays. RedAxePlay has a good choice of esports to bet on, including the likes of CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant. There are also a few special TV show markets, such as Big Brother Brazil, as well as markets for the Oscars. People who are interested in politics can bet on the outcome of the next US election at RedAxePlay too.

The fact that free bets are on offer to both new users and existing customers at RedAxePlay is a plus. However, the sports betting site does have a few familiar failings like other ProgressPlay Limited brands. These include a lack of live streaming and few options for dogs or horse racing betting, while the odds at this new UK sports betting site are really nothing to write home about.

RedAxePlay Customer Support Options

The help centre kicks things off when assessing the different RedAxePlay customer support options that are available for users. Here, a detailed frequently asked questions area covers a lot of the most common issues that people are likely to have with an account at RedAxePlay.

The live chat is available via a widget that can be found at the bottom-right corner of the screen when using RedAxePlay. This is probably the pick of the RedAxePlay customer support options and will be a quick and easy way for most users to resolve any problems they are having here.

Live chat at RedAxePlay is available on a 24/7 basis. This is helpful as it means users will be able to get in touch with customer service agents at any time of the day or night, which is not always the case for new UK online sportsbooks. When opening the 24/7 RedAxePlay live chat facility, users are initially presented with some basic FAQs but it is easy to click beyond them.

It is also possible to send an email to customersupport@instantgamesupport.com to get help as a customer of the RedAxePlay sportsbook, but telephone help does not seem to be available.

RedAxePlay Payment Methods

The list of accepted RedAxePlay payment methods is much the same as at other ProgressPlay Limited betting brands in the UK. The cashier welcomes payments from debit cards like Visa and MasterCard - though not credit cards as this is no longer legal in the UK - plus e-wallets.

Cryptocurrency is not listed among the approved RedAxePlay payment methods so anyone who is hoping to use Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin or any other type of crypto to add funds here will be let down. It is also not yet possible to use either Apple Pay or Google Pay to make a deposit into an account at the RedAxePlay UK sportsbook. This is a shame as they are handy on mobile.

PayviaPhone is one of the RedAxePlay payment methods that can be used. However, it is very important to note that a 15% processing fee will be charged on all PayviaPhone deposits. This is just the start when it comes to fees and charges that are made by RedAxePlay to users.

When withdrawing winnings out of an account at RedAxePlay, customers will have to pay a one per cent processing fee, no matter which payment method they opt to use. While this is capped at £3, customers are unlikely to be pleased about losing a proportion of their cash. It is always the case at ProgressPlay Limited betting brands that a processing fee is charged on withdrawals, which is one of the reasons it is hard to give RedAxePlay a full recommendation.

Payouts are also quite slow when it comes to withdrawing any winnings at RedAxePlay. The site states that it can take up to seven business days for players to get their cash when they make a withdrawal to a debit card. While it is faster to use an e-wallet such as PayPal or ecoPayz, users are still unlikely to get their hands on any cash they have won at RedAxePlay within three days.
