The Apprentice Betting UK - Can You Bet on The Apprentice? (2024)

Betting on the outcome of television shows has become increasingly popular in the UK. The Apprentice remains one of the top shows of its type, so are Apprentice betting odds offered?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to bet on The Apprentice in the UK any more. This may be because The Apprentice is typically filmed well in advance of when it is broadcast, unlike some of the other top UK TV shows to bet on like I'm A Celebrity and Strictly.

Introduction to The Apprentice

The Apprentice is a business-themed reality TV show on the BBC since 2005. Typically broadcast towards the start of the calendar year, The Apprentice remains one of the most popular television shows, with millions of viewers tuning in on BBC One and iPlayer.

Betting on The Apprentice TV show used to be very popular, with fans of the show backing their favourites to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar, with the format having been changed a few years ago from the victor of the series previously being hired by the business mogul.

The 2024 series of The Apprentice is being shown on BBC One on Thursdays starting February 1. Baroness Karren Brady and The Apprentice season one winner Tim Campbell will co-star again.

Who are The Apprentice 2024 Candidates?

If betting on The Apprentice comes back, checking out the list of previous show winners might be helpful:

  • Series 2, 2006 - Michelle Dewberry
  • Series 3, 2007 - Simon Ambrose
  • Series 4, 2008 - Lee McQueen
  • Series 5, 2009 - Yasmina Siadatan
  • Series 6, 2010 - Stella English
  • Series 7, 2011 - Tom Pellereau

  • Series 17, 2023 - Marnie Swindells

There has been no male winner of The Apprentice since 2017 when James White and Sarah Lynn became the first joint winners of the show. It is almost a decade since there was a solo male winner of The Apprentice, with the female candidates performing better of late.

Indeed, in the past four series of The Apprentice, both finalists were women.

Dessert and sweet businesses have also recently become more popular with Lord Sugar. As of 2024, four of the past seven winners of The Apprentice have been in this department.

The Apprentice Betting Markets

We have seen these betting markets available for The Apprentice in previous years.

The Apprentice winner betting odds: The most popular option for betting on The Apprentice is simply an outright market on the winner. Lord Sugar almost always picks a single winner, but in 2017, he decided to invest in the businesses of both finalists, James White and Sarah Lynn.

The Apprentice runner-up betting odds: It may be possible to bet on the second-place result.

The Apprentice next to be fired odds: In each episode of The Apprentice, at least one of the candidates is shown the door by Lord Sugar, who then uses the immortal phrase 'You're Fired'.

Other Top Television Shows

While there are not any betting odds for The Apprentice available at present, there are still plenty of options for people who want to bet on the outcome of a popular television show:

Strictly Come Dancing

A television rating behemoth that dominates the media agenda in the run-up to Christmas every year, millions of people tune in to watch Strictly on the BBC every Saturday and Sunday night.

While betting on the winner of Strictly Come Dancing in the outright TV show betting market is the most popular choice, it is also often possible to place wagers on the next couple to leave.

Dancing On Ice

ITV's version of Strictly takes place on a rink but is almost as popular, with many people opting to place bets on Dancing On Ice when it airs on TV, which is typically from January each year.

Dancing with the Stars

Another dance-based competition that is broadcast worldwide and available to bet on is Dancing with the Stars, with the Irish version widely offered by UK betting sites these days.

As with Dancing On Ice and Strictly Come Dancing betting, it is possible to bet on the winner of Ireland's Dancing with the Stars and the next contestant to be voted out of the contest.

Love Island

Although the glory days of Love Island appear to be long gone, the ITV dating show remains popular, with both a summer and a winter series being broadcast over several weeks each year.

In 2024, ITV launched an All Stars version of Love Island with former islanders such as Liberty Poole and Chris Taylor among those invited back to have another crack at finding love.

Top male and top female are two of the most popular Love Island betting markets to go for.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

Another show that broadcasts in the UK in the run up to Christmas, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is one of the top TV shows to bet on in the UK, having been on air for over 20 years.

As well as betting on who will be crowned either the King or the Queen of the Jungle, it is also possible to bet on which star will be voted out of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! next.

Unlike many other top TV shows to bet on in the UK, some betting sites even offer odds on which famous faces will next appear on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The Great British Bake Off

The amateur cook competition is still very popular in the UK despite a controversial move to Channel 4 from the BBC and a raft of changes to the presenting team over the past few years.

Like with The Apprentice, The Great British Bake Off is filmed well before the show airing. This means that Great British Bake Off betting odds are not normally available in the UK.

The Masked Singer

Based on a South Korean show, The Masked Singer has become a huge hit worldwide. Betting fans can place wagers on the winner of The Masked Singer when the show is on TV.

The Masked Dancer

This spin-off show sees famous faces show off their dance moves rather than their singing voices, although the bizarre array of costumes they wear are similar to The Masked Singer.

The Masked Dancer betting odds are widely available, but it is unclear when the show might be back on ITV as the 2023 edition was cancelled to make way for the Rugby World Cup.

Big Brother

ITV returned the original reality show in 2023, with AJ Odudu and Will Best as new hosts. Betting on Big Brother includes markets such as the overall winner and the next to be evicted.

It has already been confirmed that another Big Brother series will be on screens in 2024, and ITV is expected to launch a celebrity version of the show, too, which will have betting odds.

Eurovision Song Contest

Each spring, music lover go wild for this show, which millions worldwide watch. Betting on the Eurovision Song Contest is available well before the event, with fans able to place ante-post wagers to ensure they can get the best odds offered.

Eurovision Song Contest betting markets might also include an option to bet on the finishing position of the British entrant, though there is every chance they end up with nil points.

Awards shows

The Oscars and the Brit Awards are other top betting options in this department. The BBC Sports Personality of the Year is another market to look out for in the winter.
