Lottoland offers far more than the chance to bet on huge lottery jackpots these days. Indeed, having launched a sportsbook in 2021, the site aims to cater to a completely new market. However, how does it stack up? In this review, we take a look at everything you need to know about the sportsbook and the casino.

Lottoland has made a name for itself thanks to the Lotto games on the site, with a decent casino section as well, but the sportsbook could certainly use some improvement. The welcome offer has thankfully been improved and the betting margins were surprisingly good, but a lack of depth in markets for most sports was noticeable.
Despite the low minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts, therefore, Lottoland cannot compete with the best sportsbooks on the market and perhaps this was to be expected. Having said that, the bookmaker is moving in the right direction and taking all of the improvements made into consideration, it is worth signing up.

Lottoland has been around for a while, with the site launching back in May 2013, and thus recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary. Little is known about the site's ownership, though, other than the fact that the company is Gibraltar-based and led by the CEO Nigel Birrell. As stated on the site, the "Lottoland Group is privately owned by several shareholders", with this the only information.
As given away by the name, the site has mainly made a name for itself thanks to a variety of lotto games but announced the launch of its sportsbook in the UK back in 2021. Altenar, a sports betting provider, teamed up with Lottoland to make it possible and the site has experienced great success with this new section.
However, most punters in the UK probably do not know a lot about the sportsbook given its relative infancy still. Therefore, in this review, we will take a look at everything that Lottoland's sportsbook has to offer. We will also highlight the pros and cons, so that you can make an informed decision about whether to sign up or not.
Lottoland is well-known in the UK as the go-to betting site for lotto games. The site was founded in 2013 and a sportsbook was added to the repertoire in 2021, expanding the operations. The parent company EU Lotto Limited is licensed by the Gambling Commission in the UK under licence number 38991 and has a very good reputation.
In short, Lottoland is not only a legit site, but it is also completely safe for punters to sign up and use the betting platform. The site's licence with the UKGC includes betting, bingo, casino and virtual sports, and there are no other domains under the licence. This means that Lottoland does not have any sister sites.
While it is important to read previous customer reviews, it is also true that most betting sites in the UK have a poor rating on Trustpilot. We always tend to mention bet365 as the bookie is our favourite, but it has a 1.3/5 rating on Trustpilot. With this in mind, Lottoland's score of 2.6/5 at Trustpilot is decent and does not raise any red flags.
EU Lotto has been fined by the UKGC on two separate occasions, first £150,000 for advertising breaches and then £720,000 for social responsibility and money laundering failures. Strangely enough, however, these 'regulatory actions' are not listed on EU Lotto's UKGC page - and this is something we have never seen before.
We are not sure why this is the case, especially since the UKGC normally is very glad to list the various breaches in the past, but one can hope that Lottoland has learned from its mistakes.
The welcome offer at Lottoland is not the best, especially when you compare it to other sign-up deals in the UK, but has improved a lot compared to what it used to be. Instead of only coming into play if the punters make a loss, the bookie now guarantees a £10 free bet as long as £10 is staked at evens or higher.
Now, the winnings are capped at £100 and that is very low considering that many bookies don't even cap the winnings, while others do £500 at the lowest. It is possible to add a Lottoland promo code when registering on the site, but this is not mandatory to claim the offer as long as you follow the T&Cs.
As for the casino section, customers who deposit and stake £20, £30 or £50 on Big Bass Bonanza will get 100, 150 or 200 free spins respectively for the game. The best thing is that there are no wagering requirements for the free spins! This is certainly much better than the offer for the sportsbook, definitely worth signing up for.
Operator | Welcome Offer | Bonus Code | Claim Offer | |

| Welcome Offer Bet £10 Get a £10 Free Bet | No code required | Claim Offer | Add a bet to your betslip with the minimum stake of £10 and tick “promotion opt in” on the betslip before placing your bet. Just like the welcome offer, the Lottoland promotions section is very underwhelming. There is a bet club in place, which rewards loyal customers with a £5 free bet every week, and this certainly sounds good at face value. However, in order to qualify for the free bet, punters need to stake at least £25 on acca bets with a minimum odds of 3/1 during the week.
The winnings for the free bet are also capped at £100, as with the welcome offer, and thus customers are not really incentivised to opt in for the promotion. Moving on, Lottoland also has a goalless insurance in place when punters bet on the Premier League. If a pre-match correct score bet is placed, and the game ends 0-0, the stake will be refunded or the acca selection will be voided.
These are the only two sports promotions available on Lottoland, so we recommend punters to check out the best promotions available if that is priority, which certainly is the case for many.
Although there is not a plethora of payment methods to choose between, Lottoland must be praised for being one of the low deposit sites in the UK. Customers can deposit as little as £1, which is probably the lowest in the industry. It goes up a bit for those who do not want a debit card or Apple Pay, but will not exceed £5 regardless of which payment method you choose.
The popular e-wallet PayPal is missing, it should be noted, so those who like to use that e-wallet will have to check out the betting sites that support PayPal instead. Below, we have collected everything you need to know about deposits at Lottoland:

If you are new to the process, you can read our step-by-step guide for depositing funds into a Lottoland account below. It is an excerpt from our complete Lottoland deposit guide.
To begin the deposit process, simply enter the 'Profile' area in the bottom right corner of the screen, then, tap the 'Deposit' option to enter the cashier.
Once you have entered this section, you will be given some pre-selected deposit amounts to choose from, alternatively, you can enter your own deposit amount - for our test, we deposited £10. Additionally, you can enter a Lottoland promo code here.
The next step is to select your deposit method, and then enter your payment details. Following this, tap the green 'Deposit' button.
Finally, you will be taken to a confirmation screen, which will confirm the deposit has been completed. To begin betting, tap the green 'Bet Here' option, and begin browsing the markets.
Compared to the deposits, punters will not have a lot of choice when it comes to withdrawals at Lottoland, as they can only be made via debit cards on bank transfer. If speed is of the essence, then there are other betting sites to check out. The good thing, though, is that there is no minimum withdrawal amount and this will be appreciated by many punters.
Below, we have collected everything you need to know about withdrawing funds at Lottoland:
Payment Method | Min. Limit | Max. Limit | Transaction Fee | Processing Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
Visa | No minimum | Not specified | No fee | 21 hours in our test |
Mastercard | No minimum | Not specified | No fee | 2-5 business days |
Bank Transfer | No minimum | Not specified | No fee | 2-5 business days |
If you haven't withdrawn money from Lottoland before, you can follow our step-by-step guide below:
After opening the app and signing in, you need to tap on the profile icon in the top-right corner of your screen. Then, select the ‘Withdraw’ option in the menu that pops up.
When you have entered the cashier, you will be asked to confirm the withdrawal amount - interestingly, you will be shown your balance as well, which is sometimes rare. Then, choose how you would like to withdraw your funds.
Finally, you will be asked to 'Perform' the withdrawal. If all the details are correct, tap the green 'Withdraw now' button. Once again, you will be shown your available balance, this time after the withdrawal which is a nice touch.
Unfortunately, Lottoland will not take you back to the home screen, but it will display a message stating that the withdrawal procedure is underway. It also states that the funds will take some time to be sent from Lottoland, with a confirmation email then confirming funds will arrive after 5-15 days.
However, this sounded too strange to be true and sure enough, it took just 21 hours for the funds to arrive in our account. Lottoland might want to update that message to avoid unnecessary worry among its customers.
As with any betting site that is regulated by the Gambling Commission, Lottoland has a KYC (Know Your Customer) process in place to verify the identities of its customers. This verification will usually take place automatically, using the information from the sign-up form, but Lottoland may ask you to upload one or more of the following:
This could either be because the identity verification failed, or because you have reached a certain deposit/withdraw threshold that triggered Lottoland's attention. The documents can be sent via email or uploaded via the 'Document Uploader' which users can find on the FAQ page. The documents must be provided as photographs, and scanned copies will not be accepted.
At Lottoland, there are around 30 sports to bet on and thus is a decent amount, though very common these days among the new betting sites in the UK. Football and tennis appear to be the top sports, as also confirmed by the promotions, but punters can also bet on minor sports such as bandy and Gaelic football at Lottoland. Speaking of, we have done a list on the best tennis bookies out there.
Using a Premier League game as a reference, given its popularity among UK punters, there is a decent amount of markets (150-200) with popular ones such as player to score and player card. There is also a bet builder feature, which is a big plus, but this lacks most of the markets and Lottoland thus cannot compete with our top ten football bookmakers.
Another important thing to look at is the betting margins, which we have done a full guide on. In short, this is the fee that bookmakers charge punters for letting them place a bet. In the long run, this can make a big difference and taking a look at Lottoland, it has an average betting margin of 6.05%. This is indeed a good score and could thus tempt some punters to sign up.
In addition to football, punters will be able to find an okay section for horse racing, though it is nowhere near the best bookies for the sport of kings. The same goes for the top greyhound betting sites. There is also a section for virtual sports, which gives players the chance to bet on virtual football, virtual horse racing, virtual dogs, virtual motorsport, virtual basketball, virtual table tennis and too many others to mention.
As mentioned at the top, other prominent sports such as tennis and even smaller ones are also available. However, greyhound racing betting is a notable omission. It is also clear that Lottoland could use some depth improvement for some of the sports offered, even if this was more or less expected.
Esports betting is another hot trend in the world of online gambling right now. As such, it is good to see that Lottoland offers lots of markets for many of the top esports around, from Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant through to Rainbow Six, CS:GO and even Age of Empires.
Finally, live sports streaming is missing at Lottoland and this is a shame, as most of the UK punters now take this for granted. Not to mention that Lottoland's sportsbook offering as a whole is pretty standard and basic. Then again, most of the new customers at Lottoland are most likely there for the lotto or casino games.

Although some might sign up at Lottoland for the sportsbook, there is no doubt that the casino section is the flagship. Granted that it was mostly lotto-focused at the start (2013), this still rings true. Given just how big Lottoland has become in the gambling industry, potential new customers are right to expect a good casino library.
As we already covered in the 'Lottoland Welcome Offer' section, there is a great free spins no wagering sign-up offer for new customers to claim. It is not on the most glamorous game, namely Big Bass Bonanza, but it is still very nice. Focusing on the Lottoland casino in general, though, the landing page is easy to navigate with some featured games and categories to choose between.
Slots make up a majority of the library, as you would expect, but there are also some table games such as Poker and Roulette. A good selection of jackpot games can also be found at the bottom of the landing page. In the liver casino section, there are a total of 52 games available and providers for these include Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play.
Lightning Roulette and Cash or Crash are likely to be the most popular games here, with Lottoland being one of our favourite bookies for Aviator. There are also sections for Lotto and Bingo at Lottoland, with both of these sections becoming very popular in recent years. Especially the Lotto one is very comprehensive, so Lottoland has made sure to cover all bases.
Overall, the generous welcome offer along with a comprehensive library makes for a nice experience. To that, it should also be added that the website (both on mobile and desktop) was very responsive during our testing. In short, it is one of the best casino sites out there.

Those who are looking to play the lotto or casino games at Lottoland can download an app for both iOS and Android. It boasts impressive ratings of 4.4 and 4.2 out of five stars respectively, clearly a good app, and the sportsbook can also be found here. Lottoland's focus on the other sections is clear here too, but at least the sports features can be accessed on the app.
As for the mobile website, it is a relatively pleasant experience with fast loading time and easy navigation. It will certainly suffice for most betting needs, but the convenience of an app cannot be overstated. Most punters have become used to betting on the go and apps make that experience much faster, with some excellent ones to choose between as well.
Responsible gambling has become increasingly important in the betting industry, with betting sites fighting over customers with enticing offers and promotions. The risk for gambling addiction has never been higher, one could argue, and therefore responsible gambling measures are key. At Lottoland, the following tools are available:
It is always advised to start with deposit limits, as these force punters to reflect on their betting habits. In addition to the tools, Lottoland also has a 'Gamble Safely' page with a lot of information, including self-assessment questions. Those who are struggling will be able to find good third-party resources as well such as Gamcare.
Customer support is essential for any betting site and especially a new one, such as Lottoland (at least counting their sportsbook). Customers will be able to find a decent amount of options on the site, with live chat, email and a FAQ page available to answer the queries they might have.
The live chat is not available 24/7, though, which is a bit disappointing as most betting sites offer this. The opening times vary from day to day, but it is usually 12 am to 10 pm. On the weekends, the live chat closes at 4.30 pm instead, but customers can then turn to the FAQ page or email the support team.
Speaking of the FAQ page, customers will be able to find answers to a raft of top queries such as how to verify their account and which Lottoland payment methods there are. There are more than 100 questions answered in the Lottoland FAQ, so it is comprehensive.
