bet365 needs little introduction for most people living in the UK. Their adverts are plastered all over TV, featuring the famous “Inplay with Ray” commercial you see pretty much every halftime while watching football. They also make the bold claim of being the “Worlds favourite online sports betting company” which could be true for a lot of people.
It is hard to deny bet365 as one of the most complete bookies out there, providing everything you would want in a bookmaker. They have one of the biggest selections of sports and markets available. Complete with a huge range of live events available to stream and a fantastic, user-friendly layout. On top of one of the best apps out there (when it doesn’t crash or show the wrong stats) to compete with the very best.
However, it does have its negatives, as I will touch on later in the review. But, it is easily my favourite bookie, which I use personally quite a lot. Even if I do not bet with them, I will follow games through their app/site because they make it so easy and convenient. Plus their notifications for goals are so much faster than other bookies.
Promotions and Rewards
This is where some of bet365’s issues start to appear if you are looking for the best value from a bookmaker. They have a number of promotions, but they are not that great compared to other top bookmakers. I would like to see more free bet offers from bet365 and some kind of rewards scheme for loyal customers.
Appearance and Navigation
bet365 has one of my favourite designs in the betting world. Its simplistic, user-friendly and great for building accumulators. The standard menu list is found down the left-hand side, while you have other tabs along the top. I simply use the “Sports” or In-play tabs at the top as I do not care for the Casino, Poker or Vegas games but that is where you will find links to those sections.
My one pet hate with bet365 is football is called soccer. Apart from that, all is good in terms of navigation and finding the events easy. I will focus on football in this review, but the layouts are fairly universal across the sports. Once you click on a sport in the left-hand menu, you will be taken to that sports page.
In the football page, you will see today’s matches as the first link. Followed by other popular sections like the UK list, Elite Euro List, International List and more. Below that, you can see all of the leagues in the United Kingdom, and all of the other big leagues sorted by their country.
Below that, you can even click on a market type and search through the leagues/countries to build an Acca easy and fast. Even further down you can see other betting types for their “Antepost Betting”. This is where you will find the odds and bets for league winners, top goalscorers and other similar bets.
On the right of the page, you will see the “Full-Time Result” tab. Here you can change the market type to Double Chance, Overs/ Unders, Both Teams to Score and Asian Handicap/Goal Line. Honestly, it is very hard to find a design this user-friendly and perfect for building/searching for events and betting markets.
bet365 are second to none when it comes to their markets and sports offered. Their list of sports extends to well over 30 different choices and comes with extensive betting options. Their depth is truly incredible and it show’s in a number of the “bigger sports”. Of course, football, tennis, horse racing etc are full of thousands of different events from all around the world.
I will focus on football in this review, as that is the area most people will want to know about. I have honestly never seen some many random games/leagues in football as I have seen on bet365. You can bet on pretty much every football event across of the world, from the likes of the big European leagues to the Republic of Ireland Leinster Senior League…
Incredibly, there are 18 different markets to bet on for a Seniors match in the Republic of Ireland Leinster League. Basically, you will find an unrivalled range of events and betting markets to choose from.
Live Betting and Streaming
The wonderful layout and user-friendly design continue in their In-play section for all your live betting needs. Along the top, you can see an overview, event view or schedule. The overview is the general layout of all the live events, in which you can toggle through your desired sports just beneath. The event view will be your desired event with the odds, markets and standard infographic to the right of your screen.
The schedule section will provide a list of all the upcoming events, in which you can filter by sports or view all upcoming events in one long list. You can create a list of favourite events by clicking the star in the far right of the event while in the overview page. This will allow you to keep an eye on your bets or select events you choose.
Live betting is made very easy with bet365 and their infographics provide a slight bit of entertainment with the wonderful dangerous attack, suspended sequence. Usually, it ends up being a throw-in, but on the rare occasion, a team may have actually scored.
You can filter through the Match Live view, or see if the event has a live stream. You will need a funded account, or a bet on the event to be able to watch their live stream. For more information, check out their live streaming page just above the live stream box.
Betting on your device/mobile is truly the future. In fact, the vast majority of punters are now betting on their devices instead of a laptop or desktop. It is made even easier when you have a fantastic product like the one bet365 offer. As I previously mentioned, bet365 is my personal go-to bookmaker, and I mostly bet on my phone.
The only issues I have found with bet365 is their stats can sometimes be way off. In terms of the shots count, it can be false with a team apparently having 10+ shots on target in the first 10 minutes just the other day.
I can confirm that was not the case. But, bet365 get their stats from an external source, in which someone should be watching the game and reporting these stats. So either it is an error on their side, or someone is going to lose their job soon. The other issue comes at peak footballing times. Now I understand they have a lot of customers, but their app regularly crashes during the 3 pm kick-offs on a Saturday.
Asides from those slight issues, it is by far one of the best betting apps out there. The design and navigation are once again wonderfully user-friendly and a class above the competition. The speed of building bets is unparalleled which is important as I mostly build bets rather than placing singles.
The app is available on multiple platforms, or you can use their identical mobile site instead of downloading any software. I would personally recommend downloading the app for more convenient betting on the go, with their Touch ID log in making it so much easier.
As you might expect from a giant like bet365, they have a very decent customer service section for UK residents. For the rest of the world, I am unsure, but you will find more than enough help if you live in the UK. First, click the help tab located around the top right of the page. Here you will see their FAQ’s page to answer the basic queries and questions.
If you are looking for someone to talk to, just click on further through and you will find several different ways of contacting a customer service advisor.
- Live Chat – Open 24/7, 7 days a week for any/all of your needs.
- Email – Send an email from your private account with replies usually within 48-72 hours.
- Freephone – This is a free calling service for placing bets via Telebet or speaking to customer service through similar free numbers.
- Post – If you are the old school type, send them a letter regarding your grievances or issues you may face while using their services.
Asides from a number of small issues, bet365 is by far the best betting site out there for the majority of punters. It specialises in fast deposits and withdrawals, unrivalled market depth and event options. One of the best, if not the best user-friendly design and plenty of live streaming events for the best betting experience.
They really set the benchmark, and I recommend every punter to have an account with them for their live streaming options alone. If you keep your account funded, you can watch select live events in full screen on your phone/device, which is pretty awesome.
My one real complaint with bet365 is their short odds. It is rare that they have the best odds for the tips that I post on BettingLounge. But, I guess knowing they have one of the best products, they can justify having shorter odds and higher betting margins than other bookmakers.
