How Acca Betting Works

An acca bet is a single bet that combines two or more individual wagers and requires all those wagers winning, to get a return. Accas will pay out more than placing the bets separately, but, if one selection loses, the entire bet loses. Most punters will know the acca bet from its other names such as an accumulator bet, multi bet or even a combination bet. Acca - sometimes called parlay - betting is very popular in the UK, and the potential payoffs can be huge.

The returns of an acca bet are calculated by multiplying the stake by the odds, then multiplying the total return by the second set of odds, then the third, the fourth, and so on depending on how many selections you pick. You can pick 20+ selections on some betting sites, but the chances decrease with every selection.

If you are planning on placing acca bets regularly, we recommend using bookies with parlay/acca insurances and acca boosts. For example, bet365 offers acca boosts of up to 70% and a 2-goal up offer in which your selection wins if your team is winning by 2 goals at any point in the match. Generally speaking, the best football betting sites tend to have good acca promotions and offers.

How to Place An Acca Bet

If you are new to acca bets, you can follow our step-by-step guide on how to create an acca bet below:

  • 1

Head Over to Your Preferred Sportsbook

Of course, the first step is to head over to your preferred betting site and log in. Once you have reached the sportsbook, you will need to locate the events you would like to have as selections in the acca. These days, most bookies accept selections from different sports for the same acca.

  • 2

Add the Selections to Your Bet Slip

The next step is to add the selections to your bet slip. It's worth noting that acca bets usually are restricted to common markets such as Match Result Both Teams to Score, and Correct Score. You will also not be able to add several markets from the same game unless you decide to create a bet builder instead.

Set the Stake and Place the Bet

After you have added your selections for the acca, you need to set a stake. Since acca bets tend to have rather high odds, you often won't have to stake a lot of money for a potential big profit. Once the stake has been set, confirm the bet by tapping on 'Place Bet' in bet365's case.

Acca Promotions in the UK

Some of the best betting sites in the UK offer acca insurance if your acca bet loses due to one selection. These often cover accas of five or more selections and the stake is normally refunded as a free bet or cash. Acca boosts are also common on betting sites, increasing potential winnings by a certain percentage depending on the number of legs.
