Kwiff may not be as unique as when it first arrived on the market, but there are still some features that separate the site from other UK bookmakers. The mobile app has given the brand a strong foundation, competing with the top brands on that front, and the surprise element of the welcome offer as well as the promotions adds a unique touch.

The sportsbook and the casino could be more comprehensive, especially given the few sports available, and this is something that potential new customers must take into consideration. On the other hand, Kwiff offers something different compared to the competition and will suffice for most bettors anyway, making it a decent option for those who are interested in trying a new bookmaker.

About Kwiff

Although it is still regarded as a relatively new site in the UK, Kwiff was actually launched back in 2015 by Anders Ström (founder of Unibet) and Karl Engström. In the first few years of its existence, Kwiff was only available on mobile, with users needing to download the iOS or Android app to access the sportsbook.

Kwiff is owned and operated by the gambling company Eaton Gate Gaming Limited, which is based in London, and the two founders have since resigned from the venture. Recently, Kwiff made its products available for desktop use and potential new customers will thus be wondering if it is worth signing up on the site.

In this review, we will discuss everything you need to know about Kwiff, from the sportsbook to the casino and the payment methods available. By the end of it, you will hopefully be able to make an informed decision about whether to join Kwiff or not.

Is Kwiff Safe?

Kwiff's owner, Eaton Gate Gaming Limited, is licensed by the Gambling Commission in the UK which means it is legal and safe for customers to use. However, with it being a relatively unknown site still, potential new customers will want to know more than just a license number.

Taking a look at Trustpilot, with nearly 4,000 reviews registered, the consensus is positive regarding Kwiff. The site has an average rating of 3.7 out of five stars and this is rather high for a betting site. Even some of the biggest UK bookmakers struggle with poor reviews, but is it worth leaving them for Kwiff? Let's take a look at what the site has to offer.

Kwiff Welcome Offer

Compared to other free bet welcome offers, Kwiff has a similar yet unique one, which corresponds well with the brand as a whole. While a £30 free bet may not sound that special at first, Kwiff has added its own spin by making it a 'surprise bet'. Some might see this as a negative, but it adds some excitement as well.

New customers just need to place a first bet of at least £10 at a minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5) to take part in the welcome offer. It is worth noting that Supercharged odds, which is one of Kwiff's features, do not count towards the promotion. The free bet will be credited to the account immediately - although some delays may occur - and it will be placed by Kwiff's algorithm, hence the name surprise bet.

Kwiff Welcome Offer

Potential winnings from the free bet can be withdrawn straight away but the stake will not be returned. All in all, it is a good welcome offer for customers who are thinking about signing up on Kwiff. The surprise element, as said, could be negative for some while others might find even more joy in that.

For the casino section, new customers can get up to 200 free spins on the game Book of Dead, but need to play for at least £20 daily within the first five days to get all of them. The maximum number of free spins that a customer can get per day is 40, to the value of £4. And while there are no wagering requirements on the winnings, the latter are capped at £250, which makes this welcome offer a letdown.

Kwiff Promotions

There is a decent amount of promotions available for both the sportsbook and the casino at Kwiff. Starting with the former, bettors can get their cash outs 'Supercharged', with the site once again leveraging the surprise element. For example, if a bettor decides to cash out a bet at £25, it could randomly be boosted to £55. The one downside to this promotion is that it is not entirely clear how often a 'Supercharge' can occur.

Football fans, specifically those who like to place accas, will be happy to hear that there are two promotions for this on Kwiff. The first takes place during the weekend and offers customers 'Supercharged' odds, provided that the acca has 3+ selections at a minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5) each. The minimum stake is just £1, but it is also capped at £100 to qualify for the promotion.

Kwiff Promotions

The second promotion is an Acca Shield, as Kwiff calls it, offering a refund of up to £20 if an acca loses out because of one selection. Customers must stake at least £5 on a 4+ selection acca with a minimum odds of 4/1 (5.00) and each selection must be a minimum of 1/2 (1.5) each. The refund will be made out as a surprise bet.

There are not just football promotions at Kwiff, though, with a second-place refund for horse racing and more on offer. The Acca Shield also applies to American Football and the NFL, which is a nice touch.

For the casino, customers at Kwiff can take advantage of quite a few promotions, a few of which are offered by game providers such as Pragmatic Play and Wazdan Network. Daily and Monthly rewards are available for popular slot games and only one spin is needed to qualify, to the value of 50p. There are certainly more sports betting promotions, though.

Kwiff Deposit

There are many different payment methods to choose between at Kwiff, from the standard debit card to popular e-wallets such as PayPal. The addition of Instant Bank Transfer, serviced by TrueLayer, is a nice addition for deposits but especially for withdrawals, which we will come to later. In short, payment methods likely will not be what is stopping bettors from signing up.

It is worth noting that all payment methods at Kwiff have a minimum deposit of £10, which is slightly higher than some other UK bookmakers that accept deposits as low as £5. You can find all the details you need about the payment methods below:

Payment Method Minimum Deposit
Debit Card (MasterCard/Visa) £10
PayPal £10
Payz £10
Google Pay £10
Instant Bank Transfer (TrueLayer) £10

How to Deposit at Kwiff

  1. Make sure you are logged in and click on the account icon in the top-right corner
  2. Choose 'My Wallet' in the dropdown menu and then tap on 'Deposit'
  3. Enter the amount you would like to deposit and choose a payment method
  4. Enter the payment method details and finish by tapping on 'Pay'

Kwiff Withdrawal

Customers at Kwiff will be able to choose between the same payment methods for withdrawal as for depositing funds. It is also worth noting that due to money laundering regulations, you will need to use the same method at least for the amount you deposited. For example, if you deposited £20, you need to withdraw £20 to the same method before you can make a switch.

Another important thing to note is the minimum withdrawal amount for PayPal. The popular e-wallet is used by many people all over the world but when it comes to Kwiff, it might not be the best choice. While customers can deposit £10 with this method, they will have to withdraw at least £50. This is a very high minimum and should be taken into consideration.

Nevertheless, e-wallets are actually not the fastest way to withdraw winnings from Kwiff, as the Instant Bank Transfer by TrueLayer is available. The processing time for this method is just a few minutes max, which makes it a great option for most customers.

Payment Method Processing Time Minimum Withdrawal
Debit Card (MasterCard/Visa) Up to 3 business days £10
Paypal Instant £50
Payz Instant £10
Instant Bank Transfer (TrueLayer) Instant £10
Bank Transfer 2-3 business days £10
Google Pay Up to 3 business days £10

How to Withdraw From Kwiff

  1. Make sure you are logged in and click on the account icon in the top-right corner
  2. Choose 'My Wallet' in the dropdown menu and then tap on 'Withdrawal'
  3. Choose the registered payment method and enter the amount
  4. Finish by tapping on 'Withdraw'

How to Verify an Account at Kwiff

As with all bookmakers in the UK, given the regulations set up by the Gambling Commission, there is a verification process in place at Kwiff. Upon completing the registration, Kwiff aims to automatically confirm the identity of the new customer in question, using the details provided. However, in some cases, customers will be asked to provide additional information:

  • Proof of ID: UK/International Passport (full page, including MRZ code), UK Driving Licence/Provisional Driving Licences (Front and Back), UK National Identity Card (Front and Back), Military ID Card or a UK Citizen Card.
  • Proof of address: Utility Bills, Tax Revenue Letters, Government Letters or a Bank Statement (cannot be older than three months).

Customers can submit these either via email or live chat. Kwiff aims to confirm the documents provided within 72 hours, though it can be both faster and slower than this depending on the situation. Once a decision has been made, the customer will be notified via email.

Kwiff Sportsbook

Kwiff does not offer as many sports or betting markets as most traditional betting sites. In fact, at the time of this review, there are a mere 19 sports available on this site. This will be perfectly fine for most bettors, in truth, but it is clear that Kwiff lags behind the main competition when it comes to the sports offering. Below are some of the top sports available:

  • Football
  • Horse racing
  • Tennis
  • Cricket
  • American Football
  • And more

But what about the sports that are available, are there many markets available? On a whole, the answer is yes as there are many events and a decent amount of markets to pick from. Kwiff even offers betting a low-level events such as the Serie D, which is the fourth football tier in Italy, though the popular feature bet builder is missing as things stand. Nevertheless, Kwiff earned a spot on the list of best new football bookies on our page.

Kwiff Sportsbook

Customers who prefer to place very specific and complex bets might be better off turning to one of the top UK bookmakers, with a lot more markets available. Furthermore, most of the top sites offer the ability to suggest a bet if the markets required are missing, which makes it hard for betting brands such as Kwiff to compete.

As for the odds, customers have the chance of getting their bets 'supercharged' or 'Kwiffed'. Essentially, the odds of a bet you place can be randomly boosted, but it does not happen with every bet. Boosted or not, though, some players and professional gamblers have complained about the high betting margins. In our independent tests, we can confirm that Kwiff has one of the highest betting margins we have seen, at an average of 11.3%.

Bettors will likely find more value on a bookie that consistently offers low margins, rather than hoping for the random supercharged odds, which still might not make up the difference of the high margins.

Furthermore, there does not seem to be any special markets available, which is a big disadvantage given that punters sometimes like to see TV betting odds offered or perhaps predict the outcome of an election.

Kwiff Casino

Given that the sportsbook struggles to compete with the top bookmakers in the UK, it is almost imperative for Kwiff to have its casino section as well. While it might not be the most comprehensive casino either, customers will find a selection of around 2,000 games, ranging from slot games, table games and a live casino with many interesting options.

Kwiff Casino

The live casino section is operated by Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play, two well-known providers in the industry, and this means the selection is certainly sufficient in the Kwiff Live Casino. Popular games such as Lightning Roulette and Cash&Crash are among those available, while the games are filtered by category.

In addition to five sections, with many different subcategories, customers can also use the search function to narrow down their results and this makes for easy navigation on the Kwiff Casino. Compared to other big online casinos in the UK, though, it is clear that Kwiff is a bit behind and the verdict is thus similar to the sportsbook.

Kwiff Mobile App

As we mentioned in the 'About Kwiff' section, the brand first started out as a mobile app-only sportsbook and customers would thus expect the app to be very good, eight years on. That certainly seems to be the case, with the app registering great reviews on both the App Store and the Google Play store, at 4.5 and 4.5 out of five stars respectively.

Although it is not surprising given the background, Kwiff still deserves praise for having one of the best betting apps around. The app features a grey and purple design, in line with the Kwiff logo, and it is easy to navigate using the categories at the very top. The casino games are also available in the app, at least on the Android version, and this makes for a very good app overall.

Kwiff Mobile App

While some bookmakers struggle to migrate their website features to an app, Kwiff has the advantage of doing it the other way around. And to that, it must be said that the website (both mobile and desktop) also looks very clean and it is certainly easy to navigate on the site. Some bettors prioritise a good app experience, which Kwiff can provide, and this could outweigh the lack of some sportsbook markets.

Kwiff Customer Support

Although every betting site needs to have good customer support, this is especially the case for new betting sites that are looking to make their mark in a saturated market. Fortunately for Kwiff, having been around longer than most underdogs in the industry, the customer support is more than sufficient with a live chat available 24/7.

Those who prefer to contact the customer support team via email can do so, but there is no phone or social media support. Overall, our experiences with Kwiff's live chat support agents were quick, helpful and took less than a minute to reach an agent each time. Finally, Kwiff also has a very comprehensive FAQ page - frequently asked questions - where most customers will find the answers they are after.

You can take a look at the table below to find all of the necessary details regarding the customer support of Kwiff.

Kwiff Responsible Gambling

Given that Kwiff was created by one of the founders of Unibet, which we discussed in the section 'About Kwiff', the brand will have known everything about responsible gambling since the very beginning. In recent years, though, responsible gambling tools have become even more important as some customers are prone to addiction.

Kwiff has a 'Safer Gambling' section on their FAQ page, where customers will be able to find a lot of information on the subject. Among other things, there is a link to Gamcare's self-assessment test and explanations of how the different tools work. Some of the latter include:

  • Deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Loss limits (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Reality checks
  • Self-exclusion
  • Gamstop

Deposit and loss limits are always a good place to start for new customer as they are forced to reflect on their betting habits, setting a reasonable limit and sticking to it. Unfortunately, these are not bulletproof and that is why self-exclusions and Gamstop are needed these days too.
