Both Teams To Score Explained

Both teams to score (btts) is a betting market in which you can bet on “yes” or “no” to both teams scoring in the match. If you bet on the yes market, you will need both teams to score at least one goal in the match (90 minutes plus added time) while the “no” market is neither team scoring, or just one.

Btts bets are very popular as bookies often price the yes/no markets around evens, and it’s fairly easy to find and analyse the basic stats you need for these bets. Essentially, you will want to look at both teams to score stats for the teams, and whether or not they have been scoring/conceding in recent matches. You can also look at home/away form to see if there are any notable differences in the number of goals scored/conceded for either team in the match. It is also important to check the lineups/injury news to see if there are any important players out of the match.

In-play both teams to score bets can also provide fantastic value if used right. We recommend keeping an eye of games that look good for goals and potentially placing an in-play btts bet at higher odds early in the game if both teams are creating chances.

If you plan to bet on the “no” btts market, it could be worthwhile looking at other markets for better value. Under 1.5 goals may have better odds, or maybe a “no goal” in the match bet, which is of course riskier, but could provide better value. You can also look at the 0-0 correct score market if you think the goalless draw is on the cards. Of course, you can still play it “safer” with the no btts bet if find value in the odds.

If your research points to plenty of goals in both halves, it could be worthwhile betting on Both Teams To Score in each half. These markets will always have big odds, but they are pretty hard to get right as you would need one goal from each team in each half. You could also look at both teams to score in the first/second half markets if you see both teams tend to score more in either half.

Alternatively, you can also bet on combo btts markets such as the “both teams to score and win” market. In this, you will need both teams to score, but you also pick the result of the match, either a home win, draw, or away win.
