PayPal is often praised as one of the fastest ways to withdraw money from betting sites. As such, we wanted to put the method to the test, withdrawing some money ourselves from a few bookies. The results were all very positive, with most coming in under the hour.
We have picked out some of the best PayPal betting sites below, based on our own experience of using their cashiers to deposit and withdraw funds.
After initially focusing on Ireland, BoyleSports moved into the UK market in 2019 and has become quite a popular option since. With a comprehensive sportsbook - which was upgraded in 2025 - and many promotions for various sports, it's not hard to see why the blue/purple-themed bookie has had success.
PayPal is one of the accepted payment methods at BoyleSports, with a minimum deposit amount of just £5. This amount is doubled for withdrawals, i.e. £10, but that is better than it being the other way around. Our withdrawal test also arrived after 35 minutes, meaning BoyleSports has fast withdrawals with PayPal.
Unfortunately, the welcome offer cannot be claimed with the method, which is the one big con that the bookie has. On the other hand, you could use a different method for the first deposit and then use PayPal, so it's not really a long-term issue.
Pros
Cons
BetMGM took the UK market by storm with its launch in the summer of 2023, building on the positive reputation that had been amassed in the US. A huge marketing campaign was focused on, you guessed it, the welcome offer and it's indeed one of the most generous ones out there. Of course, this is all on top of a very good sportsbook.
PayPal can be found in the BetMGM cashier, with a minimum deposit and withdrawal amount of £10. The maximum for deposits is £10,000 but for withdrawals, it's less than half of that at £4,000. While we haven't tested the PayPal withdrawal speed at BetMGM, we have done so on two of its sister sites and both tests took less than 2 hours.
Now, we mentioned the welcome offer at the top and it certainly deserves another mention, as it's possible to claim it with PayPal. You don't have to worry about making the first deposit with another method, as such, and that is indeed great news.

We easily could have mentioned Bet365 first on this list, especially since we have labelled it best for quality, but there is one factor that has to be considered. The bookie's minimum deposit for PayPal is not the standard £5, not even £10, but rather a hefty £25. If you can look past that, though, there are many reasons to join.
Bet365 is one of the best in the business when market depth, offering anything you could imagine, and live streaming is an added bonus for most of the events. Furthermore, the bookie has several beneficial promotions - such as the early payout - and this means you can get a lot of value from having an account on the site.
The minimum withdrawal is better at £10, while the maximum for both deposits and withdrawals is £5,500. We actually tested the withdrawal process and got the money after just 60 minutes. You can also claim the welcome offer with PayPal, though it should be noted that you need to fully verify your account first.
Pros
Cons
The Pools might sound like an odd choice for this list, but there is a lot to like about the bookie. In addition to offering pool betting, which is what made the brand big to begin with, there is also a standard fixed odds sportsbook available. Then again, the pool betting and membership is the big usp.
While there aren't tons of payment methods accepted on the site, in fact there are only two, and PayPal is at least one of them. The minimum amount for deposits and withdrawal is set at just £5, which is a big positive, though the maximum deposit could perhaps be improved as it's currently a mere £1,000.
Based on the terms and conditions, PayPal cannot be used to claim the welcome offer, which is unfortunate. It actually doesn't say in clear terms on the betting offer landing page, but the casino page makes it very clear. As such, we can only assume that the debit card restriction applies to the betting offer too.

Cons
Finally, we have arrived at Grosvenor. Most punters will be familiar with the brand, thanks to the physical casinos up and down the country, but there is actually a decent sportsbook too. Indeed, an agreement was struck with Kambi which, combined with an already solid foundation, resulted in a perfectly usable sportsbook.
On the deposit front, PayPal is accepted by the Grosvenor and despite the slightly higher minimum deposit of £10, the bookie still stands out: the maximum deposit with the method is set at £30,000. The minimum amount for withdrawals is lowered to £5, but the maximum stays the same and that makes the bookie perfect for high rollers.
The welcome offer isn't the best we have seen and with that in mind, it's perhaps not such a huge blow that it cannot be claimed with PayPal. It's a simple double the odds deal, so it's not like you would miss out on loads of free bets.
Pros
Cons
PayPal needs no introduction for most people in the UK but, having said that, why would you use it for online betting?
Fast Withdrawals: Depending on the betting site and if your account is verified, PayPal withdrawals can arrive in your account within 15 minutes. At worst, the withdrawal is usually in your account within 24 hours.
Security: PayPal is a reputable and secure payment platform. There are several security measures to help safeguard your account and financial information, including fraud monitoring and prevention, data encryption, key pinning and security keys.
Email Payment Confirmation: You will receive an email any time you send or receive a PayPal payment. This ensures you can alert PayPal quickly if you didn't make a transaction.
Convenience: PayPal is user-friendly and easy to set up by linking your bank account or debit card to your PayPal wallet. This also means you do not need to share sensitive details with the bookmakers directly.
Privacy: Using PayPal for online betting means you do not need to share sensitive details with the bookmakers directly.
Higher minimum amounts: With some sites, due to the fees that PayPal tends to charge business, the minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts will be higher. Bet365 is a very good example of this as the prominent bookie has a minimum deposit amount of £25 (!) for the method.
Bonus restrictions: There are not many welcome bonuses in the UK that activate with PayPal deposits. Most will exclude PayPal from the bonus requirements meaning you might need to deposit with a debit card to receive your bonus. Be sure to check the key terms and conditions for every welcome bonus.
Withdrawal Delays: Some betting sites may have slower withdrawal processes due to security checks.
If you want to use PayPal as a payment method on a betting site, you will need to create a PayPal account first, which is easy to do. Navigate to the official PayPal website, open a "Personal" account, and complete the registration process. This includes details such as your full name, phone number, and address etc.
Then, you will need to verify your account by linking a bank account to your PayPal profile. You can also connect other bank cards and payment methods, such as e-wallets. But if you plan to use PayPal for betting, you cannot use a credit card in the UK anymore.
Depositing and withdrawing with a PayPal account may seem difficult if you have only used debit cards before. However, it is just as simple and can be done in just a few steps. Most of which are eliminated after your first deposit.
In this example, we chose to use William Hill's app, which is one of the best betting options across the board.
First of all, you need to sign up for a betting site that actually accepts PayPal. While there are many sites that give the wrong information, sometimes even the bookie's own FAQs (!), you can find the updated list at the top of this page. As said, we opted to do this test with William Hill.
When depositing or withdrawing with PayPal at William Hill, you first need to head over to the profile section, tapping on the profile icon in the top right corner. Alternatively, if it's a deposit, you can use the quick deposit button next to the profile icon.

Once you have reached the cashier, either for deposits or withdrawals, you need to choose PayPal as your payment method. If you haven't used PayPal to deposit at William Hill before, it will be listed in the 'Add payment methods' section, as you can see below.

With PayPal as the method, you simply need to enter the amount that you would like to deposit or withdraw. Since withdrawals require nothing more from here, as PayPal will already be connected, the rest of this guide will be about deposits.
After entering the amount, you will need to sign in to your PayPal account. Then, you will be shown the screen below, asking which payment method you would like to use on PayPal. Finally, tap the 'Continue to Review Order' option.

Once done, you will be returned to the app, with the PayPal pop-up closing automatically, and you can begin betting. In the future, your details will be saved, so the process will get a tad quicker!

Sadly, while PayPal is a very convenient way of depositing funds into betting sites, not all of these sites accept the method for the welcome offers. Some do, though, and we have listed them and the respective offers below.

PayPal is great for several reasons:
PayPal is safe and is properly regulated for many UK betting sites. They provide a quick, safe, and easy way to make instant deposits in many different currencies (depending on the bookmaker).
PayPal will not share your full financial information with the betting sites and comes with 24/7 monitoring, secure technology, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and purchase protection around the world. If you face any issues while using PayPal, you will find a responsive support section to help.
Using PayPal for betting in the UK comes with certain responsibilities and safeguards to promote responsible gambling:
We take responsible gambling seriously at BettingLounge.co.uk. Please gamble responsibly.
