FanTeam UK Review (April 2024)

While there are countless sports betting sites in the UK now, FanTeam is something different.

As well as a sportsbook site, FanTeam offers the chance to play a range of fantasy sports. While fantasy sports betting is a huge deal in the US, it has a much lower profile in the UK.

That could be set to change, though. Paddy Power is one of the few major sports betting sites in the UK to offer fantasy sports, with FanTeam also looking to capitalise on the growing interest.

People who join FanTeam will be able to win up to 500x their stake by playing the site's fantasy matchups. As well as football, there is cricket, MMA, basketball and plenty of other options too.

Various payment methods can be used at FanTeam, with e-wallets such as PayPal on the list of approved banking options on the site, as well as debit cards from Visa, Mastercard and so on.

But what else do people need to know about betting on sports or playing fantasy sports games on FanTeam? Our complete review of FanTeam in the UK has full details, so read on for more.

Introduction to FanTeam

FanTeam is just starting to become more popular in the UK, but the site has actually been around for quite a few years. Some people have been playing on FanTeam for a long time.

The owner and operator of the FanTeam site are Scout & Co, which has its base in Malta, a hotbed for the online gambling world. Scout & Co has a license that is issued and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority and it is also licensed and regulated by UK Gambling Commission.

This should assure people that FanTeam is safe and secure to use, but anyone who still has a question can get in touch with the company's customer support team. Available on a 24/7 basis, they will be able to answer any queries that a FanTeam user might have about their account.

FanTeam has used the same tactics as a lot of companies in the industry to try to attract new players. The company has become the official fantasy sports partner of Fulham FC, with similar deals likely to be in the pipeline for FanTeam over the course of the coming months and years.

Fulham and FanTeam first teamed up in 2020 but announced 2021 a further extension to their agreement. This coincided with FanTeam launching EFL Championship fantasy games for the first time, adding to the wide range of top products already available to those who join FanTeam.

"We are confident that Fulham will have a successful season in the EFL Championship," said FanTeam's marketing director Francisco Reinhard in a statement released to announce the deal's extension. "We look forward to continuing work with Fulham FC and their amazing fanbase, and are very excited to bring you Championship Fantasy Football this season."

FanTeam Sportsbook Review

While fantasy sports is the unique selling point of FanTeam, the site has a solid sportsbook as well. Logging into the FanTeam sportsbook for the first time, users will see live in-play markets presented prominently, which is ideal for those who need to get a quick bet on live-action.

More than 250 different leagues and competitions are available to bet on at FanTeam. While this does not compare to some of the largest online sportsbooks in the UK, such as Bet365, most casual sports fans will be able to find whatever they want to bet on at this sportsbook site. It is fair to say there are some notable omissions, though. At the time of writing, FanTeam did not seem to offer any horse racing or greyhounds betting markets, which a lot of UK sports fans enjoy. It was also difficult to find any golf or tennis bets at FanTeam, which is very unusual.

FanTeam's list of available sports to bet on is topped by football, as with most UK betting brands. American sports such as baseball and basketball are some of the popular options to bet on at FanTeam, while cricket enthusiasts and hockey fans will be pleased by the amount of choice as well.

In football, big matches in competitions such as the Champions League typically have more than 100 different bets to pick from. This might sound like a lot, but some of the best football bookies in the UK often have more than 500 markets available for a big game.

One of the more interesting things about FanTeam's sportsbook is the chance to bet on fantasy matchups. For example, if Manchester City are in action, users can opt to bet on whether Phil Foden or Jack Grealish will score the most fantasy points for that particular match. It is also possible to pick from cross-game fantasy matchups with players from different matches too.

Other fantasy markets on the FanTeam sportsbook include over/under markets for the number of points a player will score in that game. All this means that those who are really keen on fantasy sports will find a lot more betting opportunities in this area at FanTeam than on other gambling sites.

FanTeam does not yet offer any live streaming to its customers. This is not too much of a surprise as live streaming tends to only be available at the largest UK sportsbook sites. It is possible that FanTeam will add live streams in the future, but as of yet, this has not happened. Betting offers are also very limited compared to top online sports betting sites such as Paddy Power. Those who are hoping to find some sort of rewards program or VIP program at FanTeam will be disappointed, though again it is possible that FanTeam looks into adding this in the future.

Being able to bet while out and about is highly valued by a lot of sports fans in the UK these days. The good news is that FanTeam has its own iOS app which can be downloaded directly from the App Store, though there is not currently a FanTeam Android app that is also available. If you have an Android device, we recommend checking out our list of the best sports betting apps in the UK.

FanTeam's sportsbook is solid enough, but a lack of streaming and limited markets counts against it when compared to the top online sportsbooks. Especially the lack of horse racing is a blow for must punters, who will have to check out the best bookmakers on that front instead.

FanTeam Fantasy Sports Review

Fantasy sports betting is still a relatively new idea in the UK, but FanTeam is gambling that there will be a big spike in interest in this activity in the near future. In the US, fantasy sports betting is big business with brands such as FanDuel and DraftKings have amassed large followings.

FanTeam customers get access to what the company says are the best daily fantasy sports tournaments in Europe. Newcomers to daily fantasy sports will be grateful for the fact the site leads users through a tutorial on their first visit, explaining all about how fantasy sports work.

Various tournaments are available. Official FanTeam tournaments cover events such as basketball's NBA and football's Champions League, while fantasy hockey is even available. Big prizes are up for grabs with the top daily fantasy football event having half a million euros up for grabs. It is also possible for users to create new tournaments to play with friends and family.

Draft'n'go tournaments are the other main option available at FanTeam. Users who enter the lobby will be able to see dozens of options to join, with the site showing the top prize and entry fee. It is also possible to see tournaments that have been completed, which some FanTeam customers might find useful as they get to grips with playing fantasy sports for the first time.

Matchups are a key part of the fantasy sports offering at FanTeam. Here, users who pick between three and 10 different duels have the chance to win up to 500x their stake. Here, the aim of the game is to pick which player in a set matchup will be able to score the most points. The more duels that a player opts to add on FanTeam, the bigger their potential profit will be.

As with the sportsbook site at FanTeam, there is not a lot to offer here in terms of promotions. However, there is a refer a friend scheme that a lot of users at FanTeam will want to make the most of. How it works is as follows: FanTeam customers who recommend a new user will get a free entry for the NBA €100K season game. The new customer who joins will get the same too.

As well as daily fantasy sports, FanTeam users have the chance to play the season-long fantasy Premier League game on the site. This has a massive prize pool of a million euros up for grabs, helping to ensure that it is one of the top fantasy sports games in the world right now.

There is also a season-long game for the NBA, where basketball fans have the chance to win a share of a guaranteed prize pool that is worth €100,000 - with the overall winner getting €20,000. For the NBA game, points are only collected during the regular season, not in the play-offs.

Lastly, FanTeam users will probably want to try their luck and give themselves a chance to win the site's Pick'em Jackpot. In this part of the site, players have to predict the correct result in a series of matches, as well as getting the correct score right for a featured game, to win the jackpot. At the time of writing this FanTeam review, the jackpot stood at £84,542.71 so it is well worth players entering to give themselves a shot at landing a truly life-changing sum of money.
