Below, you can find Ben's tips for Bayern Munich vs. PSG. The odds were correct at the time of writing.
After last week's goal fest, fans are hoping for another Champions League classic when Bayern Munich host PSG at the Allianz on Wednesday night.
It will be difficult to top last week's clash between these two heavyweights. Many would argue that this should be the final, but instead, they must fight it out to face Arsenal there.
Let's dive into our tips after landing 2/5 last week.
At the time of writing this, the lineups were not available to us, so I have tried to make some assumptions about the lineup, whilst only tipping players I think will start. It is worth stating here that I would not advise placing any bets until the lineups are out for both teams.
I've gone for some bigger prices and one smaller price to balance things out a little bit. There's a good amount of value on offer and I think this can be taken advantage of.
Now, without further ado, let's dive into my reasoning.
Last week, there were only seven corners in the game and that would be somewhat of a worry for this game. However, I think that Bayern especially are going to be going for it massively; they certainly need to!
As a result, PSG are likely to concede quite a few corners, especially with Bayern's average rising by about 0.6 per game at home.
Sticking on that corner line, I think Harry Kane would have a great chance of having an impact from set pieces. The shot markets are pretty poor for this fixture, but with an elevated number of corners, Kane will be the target in the box.
Additionally, a lot of the game was played out wide last week, so this could well mean he is given service aerially anyway. 6/5 is a pretty nice price in my eyes.
This is a bit of a risk and I was half tempted to back a PSG win, due to the odds being so nice. However, I don't think the Parisian outfit, if they are to progress, will be happy to get to the final with a loss.
So, with the insurance of a draw still being above evens, I could not turn that down. A lovely price.
This feels like a market to really take advantage of and hopefully we can. As it stands, PSG are the favourites in this market after getting more yellow cards last week.
However, the Parisians have not had more yellow cards than their opponents in a Champions League away clash since November 2024. Since October 2023, they have only had more in four of their 20 away games.
In that same period, they have had fewer than 11 games. Overpriced, certainly.
Now this is a bit of a wild stab at the fixture. The goal markets are extremely unattractive, so I've headed to the first goal markets in the hope of finding some value and I think I have.
PSG concede 19% of their goals between the 21st minute and the 30th minute, whilst Bayern Munich are at their most dangerous in this period, when looking at the first half, scoring 12% of their goals during games then.
With them also conceding 14% of their goals generally in this period, I think this could be a great price.
Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs. PSG (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Stanišic, Upamecano, Tah, Davies; Kimmich, Pavlović; Olise, Musiala, Díaz; Kane.
Predicted Atletico Madrid XI vs. Arsenal (4-3-3): Safonov; Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Fabián, Vitinha, Neves; Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
If you wish to back Ben's tips in a bet builder, Bet365 are paying 120/1, at the time of writing. It certainly could hold some value at that price!
