Hoeness is a really interesting candidate for the job and whilst he is not one of the biggest names in European football, he could well be with the right next step.
Having won the DFB Pokal in 2024/25 and then being the runner up this season, he has the qualities to topple the big boys in Germany without the substantial backing.
Indeed, his Stuttgart project has impressed heavily in recent years, with him winning more than 54% of his games across all competitions. Considering the success of hiring from Germany previously, Hoeness could be a great gamble for the Liverpudlians.
If it all fails, go back to your ex. That is advice that never really ends well, but when your ex is Jurgen Klopp, well, it's a little different. Indeed, the German is the third favourite to return to Liverpool this summer.
Little needs to be said about his credentials for this role and after two years off, perhaps he would be ready to tackle the Premier League and Europe once again.
However, we'd be slightly doubtful and it may just be bookmakers fishing for an easy price...
If you're a Liverpool fan, don't have your hopes up for a return just yet!
There are a few other interesting names on the list, too. Pep Lijnders sits fourth and as Klopp's former assistant, perhaps he would be a nice candidate to attempt to continue his legacy. However, 9/1 says how likely that is.
Julian Nagelsmann and Xabi Alonso feel difficult to bring to the club currently, both for different reasons. Nagelsmann has a World Cup to see through and well Alonso has just signed for Chelsea, a slight spanner in the works...
Steven Gerrard at 14/1 feels like another name for the sake of it, but he feels a level below Liverpool in terms of his managerial credentials.
Francesco Farioli at 16/1 could be an interesting shout, given his work with Porto. Simone Inzaghi could also be an interesting shout at 16/1, considering he is reportedly considering an exit from Al-Hilal.
Oliver Glasner at the same price may also be a name of intrigue, having left Crystal Palace following the conclusion of their season...
Iraola seems likely to get the job, at least from our perspective, so taking the 6/4 available (at the time of writing) may be the best option.
