Liverpool Breeze Through Tough Bournemouth Test

The current league leaders, Liverpool, navigated through a tricky game on paper as they beat Bournemouth 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium. A Mohamed Salah brace kept the Reds in the driving seat, and their odds are 1/4 to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season. 

Nottingham Forest got back to winning ways, and in emphatic fashion. Following their disappointing 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth last week, they put an astounding seven goals past Brighton on Saturday. They remain in and around the top three and are 100/1 to win the title.

Arsenal hosted Manchester City on Sunday in a game that many would have seen as a title decider when looking through the fixture list. Instead, Arsenal are just about hanging onto their title hopes, and City are well off it. 

Pep Guardiola’s side gifted Arsenal a goal early on and never really managed to recover. Erling Haaland’s equaliser was useless in the end, as the Gunners ruthlessly put another four past the Champions and took all three points. The hosts’ win left their title odds at 7/2, and the Cityzens’ at 100/1.  

Newcastle Unable to Close Gap to Top Four

Newcastle are proving to be a very inconsistent side, something they’ll need to change if they wish to finish in a Champions League place. Their 2-1 defeat to Fulham at St James’ Park was hugely disappointing, and they’re now 2/1 to make the top four. 

Fulham are in a similar boat. Marco Silva’s side possesses obvious quality but is likely yet to find the consistency that would see them competing for the top four places. Nonetheless, their impressive season thus far has them at 50/1 to make the CL places. 

Aston Villa also suffered a defeat to a team their fans will feel they need to be beating. They were beaten 2-0 by a struggling Wolves side, which featured yet another impressive performance from Matheus Cunha. The Villains are now 16/1 to make the top four spots come the end of the season. 

Leicester Suffer Huge Defeat Against Everton

Everton fans will have been pleased with how David Moyes has their team playing in such a short space of time, even prior to their victory at the weekend. The Toffees demolished Leicester, beating them 4-0 at Goodison Park, and are now 16/1 to be relegated at the end of the season. 

Their opposition, Leicester, will be devastated they couldn’t pick up after their huge win against Spurs last week. The Foxes’ looked lifeless after Abdoulaye Doucoure‘s goal, which came after just 10 seconds, and the hosts had found themselves 2-0 up within the opening stages. Leicester are now 1/10 to be playing Championship football next season. 

Wolves’ big victory over Aston Villa came at the perfect time, with two of the three teams below them dropping points and Southampton looking doomed anyway. Those huge three points left them at 3/1 to be relegated from the Premier League this season. 

Ange Postecoglu Earns Some Breathing Room

Ange Postecoglu may have given himself some breathing space after an important win in the Premier League backed up a solid result in Europe. Spurs beat Brentford in a very tough game, especially given the game was played at the Brentford Community Stadium. Postecoglu is 1/1 to be the next PL manager sacked. 

Ruud van Nistelrooy however, has lost all credit he had in the bank following their victory over Spurs last week. This week, they were humiliated by Everton, and all of a sudden they’re back into trouble again, especially after Wolves’ victory. Van Nistelrooy is now 2/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave post. 

Ruben Amorim suffered yet another defeat as Manchester United boss. His side were well beaten at home when they welcomed Crystal Palace. The Portuguese inherited a poor squad, to be fair, but he cannot seem to get a tune out of them. He is 14/1 to be the next top flight manager sacked. 

Salah Extends Golden Boot Lead

Mohamed Salah’s brace this weekend saw his tally rise to an impressive 21 goals for the season. This also put him two clear of the competition and he's showing no sign of slowing down despite outside noise. He is 4/5 to win the golden boot. 

Erling Haaland scored a goal in Arsenal’s pummelling of Manchester City. The only consolation for the Norwegian was that the goal kept him close in the scoring charts to the league leader. He is 11/10 to lift the golden boot. 

Chris Wood keeps on scoring, and it’s now become a surprise if he doesn’t get on the score sheet whenever Nottingham Forest play. Now on 17 goals and just four behind Salah, he’s 33/1 to win the golden boot.
