Is Lottoland Legit? Yes, the lotto-focused bookie has been around for quite some time and has built a credible reputation along the way. Lottoland has a valid UKGC license, okay reviews on Trustpilot and we received the money quickly when testing the withdrawal process. In fact, as we discussed in our full review, the bookie is one of our favourites.
Lottoland is well-known in the UK as the go-to betting site for lotto games. The site was founded in 2013 and a sportsbook was added to the repertoire in 2021, expanding the operations. The parent company EU Lotto Limited is licensed by the Gambling Commission in the UK under licence number 38991 and has a very good reputation.
In short, Lottoland is not only a legit site, but it is also completely safe for punters to sign up and use the betting platform. The site's licence with the UKGC includes betting, bingo, casino and virtual sports, and there are no other domains under the licence. This means that Lottoland does not have any sister sites.
While it is important to read previous customer reviews, it is also true that most betting sites in the UK have a poor rating on Trustpilot. We always tend to mention bet365 as the bookie is our favourite, but it has a 1.3/5 rating on Trustpilot. With this in mind, Lottoland's score of 2.6/5 at Trustpilot is decent and does not raise any red flags.
EU Lotto has been fined by the UKGC on two separate occasions, first £150,000 for advertising breaches and then £720,000 for social responsibility and money laundering failures. Strangely enough, however, these 'regulatory actions' are not listed on EU Lotto's UKGC page - and this is something we have never seen before.
We are not sure why this is the case, especially since the UKGC normally is very glad to list the various breaches in the past, but one can hope that Lottoland has learned from its mistakes.

To determine the legitimacy of a betting site, there are a few things that we can look at to make a proper assessment. We prefer to test the sign-up process, including claiming the welcome offer, as well as the withdrawal process. So, how did Lottoland fare on these fronts? Let's take a look.
Lottoland has improved its welcome offers fairly recently and when we reviewed them, we inevitably tested the sign-up process as well. The latter is very easy to start, just tap on 'Claim Offer' above, head over to the website or download the app. Then, you just need to tap on 'Register & Deposit'.
Lottoland requests details such as telephone number, home address, date of birth and full name in the registration form. Before tapping on 'Create a New Account', there is also an option to set deposit limits. We would have liked this to be even more prominent, but at least the option is there.
We were able to claim the welcome offer at Lottoland with ease, but it should be noted that the first deposit must be at least £10 and made with a debit card. So the rather incredible £1 minimum deposit cannot be used when claiming the offer.
Then, a qualifying bet of at least £10 with a minimum odds of evens (2.00) must be placed. The free bet is credited after the qualifying bet has been placed, or at least shortly after. The only poor thing is that potential winnings from the free bet are capped at £100.
Withdrawals are key on betting sites, especially now that many sites offer fast withdrawals. We had absolutely no issues requesting the withdrawal from Lottoland, though a confirmation email said it would take 5-15 business days for the money. This was rather strange as the money actually arrived after 21 hours, as shown in our withdrawal test.
Our writer Ben, who carried out the tests says: "Lottoland is not primarily a bookmaker for sports betting, but I admire the attempt to expand the operations. The lotto section is brilliant, of course, and the minimum deposit amount of just £1 goes hand-in-hand with that. The sportsbook could use some improvements, but there is a decent welcome offer, a bet builder tool and the site is very easy to navigate, so it gets two thumbs up from me. Especially since I had no issues signing up and withdrawing funds"
