Lottoland has made a name for itself thanks to the Lotto games on the site, with a decent casino section as well, but the sportsbook could certainly use some improvement. The welcome offer has thankfully been improved and the betting margins were surprisingly good, but a lack of depth in markets for most sports was noticeable.
Despite the low minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts, therefore, Lottoland cannot compete with the best sportsbooks on the market and perhaps this was to be expected. Having said that, the bookmaker is moving in the right direction and taking all of the improvements made into consideration, it is worth signing up.

About Lottoland
Lottoland has been around for a while, with the site launching back in May 2013, and thus recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary. Little is known about the site's ownership, though, other than the fact that the company is Gibraltar-based and led by the CEO Nigel Birrell. As stated on the site, the "Lottoland Group is privately owned by several shareholders", with this the only information.
As given away by the name, the site has mainly made a name for itself thanks to a variety of lotto games but announced the launch of its sportsbook in the UK back in 2021. Altenar, a sports betting provider, teamed up with Lottoland to make it possible and the site has experienced great success with this new section.
However, most punters in the UK probably do not know a lot about the sportsbook given its relative infancy still. Therefore, in this review, we will take a look at everything that Lottoland's sportsbook has to offer. We will also highlight the pros and cons, so that you can make an informed decision about whether to sign up or not.
Is Lottoland Legit and Safe?
Lottoland is owned by the Gibraltar-based company EU Lotto Limited and is available in several countries around the world. In the UK, the site is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission. This means that the site adheres to the standards set out by the commission, so in that sense Lottoland is safe for UK punters.
However, Lottoland has been fined by the Gambling Commission on two separate occasions, first £150,000 for advertising breaches and then £720,000 for social responsibility and money laundering failures. This is certainly worth taking into consideration by potential new customers, but at least the site has fixed the issues in question.
On Trustpilot, Lottoland has a rather decent rating at three out of five stars, with over 50% of the reviews (at the time of writing) being five-star ones. Having said that, over 30% are one-star reviews. Even some of the best betting sites in the UK have a poor rating on Trustpilot, though, so punters need to take this with a grain of salt.
Lottoland Welcome Offer
The welcome offer at Lottoland is not the best, especially when you compare it to other sign-up deals in the UK, but has improved a lot compared to what it used to be. Instead of only coming into play if the punters make a loss, the bookie now guarantees a £10 free bet as long as £10 is staked at evens or higher.
Now, the winnings are capped at £100 and that is very low considering that many bookies don't even cap the winnings, while others do £500 at the lowest. It is possible to add a Lottoland promo code when registering on the site, but this is not mandatory to claim the offer as long as you follow the T&Cs.
As for the casino section, customers who deposit and stake £20, £30 or £50 on Big Bass Bonanza will get 100, 150 or 200 free spins respectively for the game. Lottoland Promotions
Just like the welcome offer, the Lottoland promotions section is very underwhelming. There is a bet club in place, which rewards loyal customers with a £5 free bet every week, and this certainly sounds good at face value. However, in order to qualify for the free bet, punters need to stake at least £25 on acca bets with a minimum odds of 3/1 during the week.
The winnings for the free bet are also capped at £100, as with the welcome offer, and thus customers are not really incentivised to opt in for the promotion. Moving on, Lottoland also has a goalless insurance in place when punters bet on the Premier League. If a pre-match correct score bet is placed, and the game ends 0-0, the stake will be refunded or the acca selection will be voided.
These are the only two sports promotions available on Lottoland, so we recommend punters to check out the best promotions available if that is priority, which certainly is the case for many.

How to Withdraw From Lottoland

Navigate to the ‘Withdrawal’ Cashier
After opening the app and signing in, you need to tap on the profile icon in the top-right corner of your screen. Then, select the ‘Withdraw’ option in the menu that pops up.

Wait for the Money
Unfortunately, Lottoland will not take you back to the home screen, but it will display a message stating that the withdrawal procedure is underway. It also states that the funds will take some time to be sent from Lottoland, with a confirmation email then confirming funds will arrive after 5-15 days.
However, this sounded too strange to be true and sure enough, it took just 21 hours for the funds to arrive in our account. Lottoland might want to update that message to avoid unnecessary worry among its customers.
How to Verify an Account at Lottoland
As with any betting site that is regulated by the Gambling Commission, Lottoland has a KYC (Know Your Customer) process in place to verify the identities of its customers. This verification will usually take place automatically, using the information from the sign-up form, but Lottoland may ask you to upload one or more of the following:
- Proof of ID: Driving licence (no further documents needed), Passport (no more than 3 months old)
- Proof of Address: TV Licence bill, Utility bill, Bank statement (no more than 3 months old)

In the long run, this can make a big difference and taking a look at Lottoland, it has an average betting margin of 6.05%. This is indeed a good score and could thus tempt some punters to sign up.
In addition to football, punters will be able to find an okay section for horse racing, though it is nowhere near the best bookies for the sport of kings. The same goes for the top greyhound betting sites. Finally, live sports streaming is missing at Lottoland and this is a shame, as most of the UK punters now take this for granted. Not to mention that Lottoland's sportsbook offering as a whole is pretty standard and basic. Then again, most of the new customers at Lottoland are most likely there for the lotto or casino games.

Lottoland Casino
Although some might sign up at Lottoland for the sportsbook, there is no doubt that the casino section is the flagship. Granted that it was mostly lotto-focused at the start (2013), this still rings true. Given just how big Lottoland has become in the gambling industry, potential new customers are right to expect a good casino library.
