The odds mean that the probability for Newcastle United to be the next permanent club for Alexander Isak is 58.82%.
We do not doubt that Newcastle is a fantastic place to play your football, and the Magpies fanbase absolutely idolise Alexander Isak. They will be two factors that come into Isak’s decision-making when he considers the next steps in his career and the likelihood of Eddie Howe’s men being in the Champions League next season is another thing for Newcastle to cling onto.
Despite those things going in favour of Newcastle, there are several clubs that can offer Isak that. There are bigger clubs than Newcastle. There are other teams with a more regular gig in the Champions League, and any fan base would sing Isak’s name with a passion.
The biggest thing Newcastle fans should cling on to in their hope of keeping Isak is that not many of the clubs can afford Isak in this modern day PSR fuelled world. Still, that won’t stop the enquiries or the rumours, so where does Isak start next season?
It is easy to paint a picture as to why Alexander Isak might choose to leave Newcastle with several of the biggest clubs in the world interested in his signature but, actually, we still think the most likely outcome this summer is that he stays put in the North East. The next club odds agree with that thinking.
Cast your mind back to August 2022, and people raised eyebrows when Newcastle splashed out £63m on Isak's signature. He's more than repaid that outlay, but them taking a chance on him, together with the rapport he now has with the club and fans, could come into his thinking when weighing up his options this summer.
Admittedly, that alone probably wouldn't be enough, but with Champions League football on the horizon and silverware already banked, what's the rush?
Then there is the club's angle. They have PSR rules to navigate, but their long-term ambition is to become a title contender in England and Europe.
They would lose huge credibility by selling Isak, particularly to a Premier League rival, and ultimately, they'd have to go and splash out a significant sum of money to replace him too. You have to think their plan will be to strengthen again this summer, not weaken.
Liverpool are the club with the strongest links to Isak at the moment. Despite being a papers width from claiming the Premier League title with the most potent attack in the league, only two players have hit double figures, with Mo Salah scoring 27 and Luis Diaz netting 11.
This shows they lack an out-and-out centre forward with Darwin Nunez, a big money signing back in the same window Newcastle signed Isak, not having worked out.
As much as we cite Isak being happy at Newcastle, a move to Liverpool would put him at the top table where trophies are concerned.
That will turn his head, at least for an admiring glance. That doesn't make a potential deal straightforward, though, with Liverpool likely to have to move Nunez on before splashing out on such a high-profile addition.
The fact Mo Salah has penned a new deal at Anfield also reduces the pressure on them to reinforce their attack, whilst some reports suggest that extension, together with Virgil Van Dijk's, limits their ability to go to the very top tier in this summer's window.
We won't waste much time on rumours linking Barcelona with Isak. It's not a deal we see happening.
From a pure playing style, you can imagine Isak tearing up the Nou Camp - and he's obviously already proven in La Liga - but Barcelona are in the midst of severe financial challenges, and the soonest they're likely to be in the market for a big money deal like Isak is next summer.
That wouldn't be soon enough to meet the payout conditions of the next club bet.
From a value betting perspective, there is a strong argument that Arsenal being Alexander Isak's next club is the best wager out there.
Strip away the financial aspect of things for a moment, and the two parties fit together sensationally well across squad need, fan connection and in a tactical sense.
It's not a wild suggestion to make that Arsenal may well have beaten Liverpool to the league title with an Isak-type leading their line, and it's almost a guarantee that they'd still be in a title race now.
From a playing style, the Sweden international, who has seen comparisons to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, would complement the players around him with his physical presence, dynamism and movement.
Consider that alongside the fact that the Gunners have been linked with a marquee striker signing for at least the last three windows - Ollie Watkins, Benjamin Sesko and Ivan Toney spring to mind - and it feels like something will have to give this summer.
The question is whether or not they would be willing to pay what Newcastle would ask, and whether Isak is seen as value compared to other options.
Can you make an argument that Alexander Isak would be a good signing for Real Madrid? You bet you can. He's proven himself in Spain, left La Liga to develop further, and is now one of the world's best strikers, ready to take on any league in the world.
Los Blancos, meanwhile, are lacking a "proper striker" as they struggle to adapt as an attacking unit with Kylian Mbappe now at the Bernabeu.
The situation for Real isn't dissimilar to that of Barcelona, though. Financially, Madrid could only do this deal if they saw a big exit.
Vinicius Junior has been linked with a money-spinning Saudi move, which would enable Mbappe to operate in his preferred left side position and therefore leave a gap through the middle for Isak - or another.
Those pieces aren't all going to fall into place over the summer though and, as such, it's probably not the wisest next club bet for now, given bets will be settled based on Isak's club at the close of the summer window.
