Day Four of the Royal Ascot is on Friday, and BettingLounge's horse racing expert Conlan has returned to go through some of the best bets of the day.
You can also check out our complete preview for the festival, which goes into each race and the favourites.
Below, you can find Conlan's best bets for Day 4 of the Royal Ascot. The odds were correct at the time of writing.
My Best Bet for Day Four of Royal Ascot is the Ralph Beckett-trained Amlioc, who turns out in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes for Colts & Geldings at 17:35.
This gelding took the step up in trip to 1m3f last time out at Goodwood in his stride, despite taking a while to get going, with Richard Kingscote claiming after the race that he is ‘a very laid back’ sort.
He sauntered into the lead around a furlong out from the finish and shaped as though he can definitely make for a Group horse if his sense of urgency has been worked on. Ralph Beckett has had runners in the previous two renewals of this race, with Artistic Star finishing 3rd in 2023, and Macduff coming in 6th last year.
Amiloc comes into this with the best form of these three, having been unbeaten so far in four starts, and Beckett will be hoping to break the duck on this occasion and pick up his first ever win in this race.
In the Group 3 Fillies Albany Stakes, the first race of the day, I have gone for Green Sense as my Next Best bet behind Amiloc.
The filly took on the current market favourite Signora last time out in a sprint at Naas, beating her to 2nd by just over a length. She was beaten by Lady Iman, who had strong form going into this over 5 furlongs, beating the likes of True Love, who followed this run up with a Group 2 win in Wednesday’s Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes.
Also in this form line is Power Blue, who ran to an excellent 5th in the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday. The form has seemingly worked out better than the rest of the field, and I think, with Dylan Browne McMonagle aboard, the Double Green team can get their hands on Royal Ascot glory.
For my Day Four long shot, I like the look of Zayer in the final race of the day, the Class 2 Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes, taking place over a fast 5 furlongs.
This horse, ridden by Hollie Doyle, has already seen huge market support, going from 33/1 into as short as 12/1, which may make this a redundant long shot, but I like the look of him regardless. His 7th place finish last time out over this distance at York has worked out well, with the 2nd and 3rd both going on to win next time out.
In the run before that at Sandown, he came in 4th, with Brosay finishing 2nd just under 3 lengths ahead of him. They face up again in this race, with Zayer being 6lb better off this time around and with conditions more likely to suit.
