After a disappointing start to life back in the Championship, West Ham have decided to part ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and the markets for his replacement have opened.
After this weekend - when the Irons lost to West Brom - a decision has been made to sack Nuno, and you can't say it's not justified. For the first time this season, the bookmakers have moved the Hammers from the top of the market and it's hardly a surprise. If they're going to win the league, a change was needed and the first step has been made.
Let's take a look at some of the names in the mix to replace Nuno.
Below are the latest betting odds for West Ham's next permanent manager at the time of this post.
West Ham's recent form simply hasn't been good enough. Yes, they won 6-0 a few weeks ago, then beat the long-standing league leaders, Swansea. However, they're not picking up enough points for a team like them.
Ultimately, they have one of the best Championship squads in recent memory, and yet they've only won six of their opening 13 games back in the second tier. It's a bad start and there's no way to view that any differently.
Nuno was expected to thrive in the Championship after his time with Wolves, but he just hasn't. It's no surprise that a decision was made to part ways with him.
Let's go over the favourites to replace Nuno Espirito Santo and the odds for each manager.
It's not really a surprise that Parker opened as the favourite to be the new West Ham manager, nor is it a shock that he's being well backed early on. When we first started writing this page, he was 2/1 then Evens and by the time we'd finished, he was at 1/2.
The Englishman played 113 times for the Irons between 2007 and 2011 and has plenty of Championship experience, both as a player and as a manager.
Promoted with Fulham and Burnley, it makes a lot of sense why he'd be a good fit at the London Stadium. Whether fans would take to him quickly is another thing entirely, considering his football isn't viewed too positively.

Rob Edwards has been linked with plenty of jobs in the EFL recently, and a move to West Ham is another that would make sense.
Sacked from his post as the Wolves head coach in the summer, he never really got a fair crack at the Championship this time around. So, he'd imaginably be open to this opportunity, especially after what he did with Middlesbrough last season.
8/1 is a solid price for him to open at, and LiveScore relays information from Alan Nixon that he's being considered as a candidate, alongside Parker.

The other name mentioned by Nixon is Kieran McKenna and of the market leaders, this would be my pick if I were in charge of the Hammers.
McKenna's record with Ipswich speaks for itself and he's largely responsible for the squad that they're now using in the Premier League.
A fantastic young coach with a solid brand of football, he'd be able to attack the Premier League with this squad, you'd imagine. It wouldn't be a longer-term project, like Ipswich were.

From when we first started writing this article to publishing, a FLOOD of money came in for Scott Parker, as alluded to in his section here. So much so that the market actually closed before we'd finished writing. It seems Parker will be the hire.
