The latest games of the 2026/27 Championship season has now been and gone. So, that means we can look back at the table and odds as they are, and see what the market is saying about Matchday 13.

Let's dive in!

Latest Title Odds in the Championship

Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to win the league in the 2026/27 Championship season.

Championship Title Betting Middlesbrough Was 23/10

Championship Title Betting West Ham United Was 13/8

Championship Title Betting Southampton

Goals Galore in Middlesbrough

It was another big week at the top of the table, and we’ll start with the new title favourites, Middlesbrough. At home to Charlton on Halloween, a big result would be a statement of intent and they delivered - as they so often are this season.

There have been bumps in the road, but Kim Hellberg has seemingly learned. So, a 3-0 win for Boro is hardly a surprise, especially after their win against Bolton last week.

Another brace for Will Lankshear leaves us with little to say, really; we’ve got a fantastic price on him to be the league’s top scorer! However, a goal from Seb Berhalter is also nice for the Red Army.

Performances like that leave you with nothing to say, which is only a good thing for Hellberg. In the past, we’ve had too many questions about Boro, but that’s not the case this year. Instead, they’re flying and there’s seemingly no stopping them.

As I said, they’re rightly the new favourites to win the division this season at 15/8 - dare I say that’s not too bad a price - with the best football bookmakers. We’ll have to see if this is their year.

West Ham's Levels Drop

In a week, West Ham have gone from being flying to having their bubble burst.

After a win against Swansea, the Irons were flying high; there were a few questions still, but a 6-0 thumping of Lincoln and a bettering of the league’s leaders offered something of a reminder of their quality.

Unfortunately, that statement is starting to become void. A 3-2 defeat to Southampton isn’t a season-ending result, nor is this weekend’s defeat to West Brom.

However, two defeats in a row to teams in the play-offs are where seasons end; just ask Boro about that. It’s these sorts of games where you just have to win, by any means. West Ham haven’t and that’s a problem.

The bookies aren’t overreacting and they’re still 5/2 for the title. However, I just couldn’t take that price; they’re six points behind and there are better-priced teams.

Swansea Bounce Back

With the Swans, I’ve always been on the fence with putting them in the title race picture, but I’m going to bite the bullet. They currently sit second, two points behind Boro, and have had more consistency than most this season.

Yes, they lost 5-0 last weekend and yes, that’s a worry. Yet they’ve bounced back with a 4-0 win, so the damage is minimal to their goal difference.

With games against Birmingham, West Brom and Boro - back-to-back-to-back - all on the horizon, it could be a make-or-break period for them.

Saying that, they’re currently backable at 20/1 to win the league or 11/2 for promotion. It could be worth keeping an eye on…

Latest Top 8 Odds in the Championship

Below, we have collected the top teams - aside from the big favourites - and their respective odds to finish top 8 in the 2026/27 Championship season.

Championship Top Eight Betting Wolves
1/8
Championship Top Eight Betting Birmingham Was 8/15
4/11
Championship Top Eight Betting Swansea Was 4/6
3/5
Championship Top Eight Betting West Brom Was 5/6
5/7

Wolves on a Roll

Depending on where you’re from, Wolves on a roll might sound like some inhumane sandwich. Here, though, I’m on about the fact that they’ve picked up 10 points from their last 12 available.

Even beyond that, they’ve only lost to Boro, Bolton and West Ham in their last seven, so they’re looking pretty solid right now. Maybe there’s a shout for them to be in the title race…

This weekend, a 3-0 hammering against Cardiff was delivered - as you’d expect for two teams that were two leagues apart last season - so it’s not one to get massively overexcited by. Yet, it’s still a very nice win.

They’re maybe a bit short in the title picture at 7/1, and the 1/4 for a top six place isn’t great. So they’re a team to watch.

Battle of the Wests

With West Brom heading to face West Ham this weekend, it was a game to steer clear of, unless you backed the Baggies; then you earned yourself a nice winner.

Taking on the title favourites is always bold, but you’d probably think it was the visitors who held that title currently, with their 3-1 win at the weekend.

In a back-and-forth game, the Baggies were certainly better with the ball, creating 2.06 xG from 12 shots and four big chances and they had the game wrapped up with 20 minutes to go.

Despite how big that win could be, they’re still a nice price for the top six at 11/8 with BetVictor and its sister sites. Even Betway have them at 5/7 for a top eight spot, which still feels a bit generous.

Saints Keep Marching

For a team that started with minus four points, Southampton are absolutely cruising. They’re five points off the title favourites and already have a three-point gap to eighth.

Having won seven of their last 11 fixtures - only losing once - they’ve got a certain element of inevitability that you just can’t shake. So, wins against West Ham and QPR in their last two speak for themselves, don’t they?

The fixture list doesn’t get any easier, with West Brom up next. Yet, you’d still go into that game with confidence, despite their recent form. It’s no shock that they’re the third favourites to win the league at 13/2 and an unbackable price for the playoffs.

Latest Relegation Odds in the Championship

Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2026/27 Championship season.

Championship Relegation Betting Preston North End Was 4/11
1/3
Championship Relegation Betting Derby County Was 1/1
5/6
Championship Relegation Betting Charlton Was 21/10
21/10

No Change at Preston

With the hiring of Graham Alexander, Preston fans hoped that they’d start to improve a little. However, results aren’t getting any better, reinforcing that the team just isn’t strong enough.

Genuinely speaking, I cannot remember a time when the Lilywhites did more than tread water in a season, and that’s a problem that has now caught up to them. Having lost eight of their last 11, they’re in huge danger; that doesn’t need a genius to point out anymore, more so with them being six points adrift already.

It’s difficult to argue with the 1/3 price for them to go down. Again, being brutally honest here, I’m shocked it’s not lower…

From Top to Bottom

Last season, Derby just missed out on the playoffs and some thought they’d be in and around that area this season, especially with talk of major investment in the summer. However, it just hasn’t happened and they look pretty doomed.

Like Preston, they’ve already got a notable gap to 21st in place and whilst it’s only four points, it seems tough to imagine that shortening, with them also losing eight of their last 11.

As a result of their heavy defeat to Millwall this weekend, where they were three goals down in 17 minutes, they’re now below Evens for relegation this season. I’m not surprised again.

General Picture

Burnley made a new hire at the weekend, and an opener at home to Portsmouth wasn’t an easy start. However, it would’ve been a big statement to have got off to a winning start. They had 18 shots - with almost 2 xG - so they’re showing improvements, but it matters little with only a point to show for it. Yet, I’d not rush to take the 5/2 for them to go down.

Finally, Charlton’s defeat to Middlesbrough isn’t a major concern. However, they’ve now lost each of their last three games, conceding eight goals in this time. Unfortunately, they’ve also lost to Norwich and Watford, who are also in the relegation-flirting zone. As a result, they’re 21/10 to go down, which seems like a fair price.
