The latest game of the 2026/27 Championship season has now been and gone. So, that means we can look back at the table and odds as they are, and see what the market is saying about Matchday 11.

Let's dive in!

Latest Title Odds in the Championship

Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to win the league in the 2026/27 Championship season.

West Ham Pick Up Huge Win

This weekend’s headline game saw Swansea host West Ham United in a Championship title six-pointer. When the fixtures initially came out, you’d be in the anomaly group if you thought that would be the case, but here we are.

The Swans have been the story of the season and have picked up some big results in the process, but facing the Hammers is a challenge like no other and this much was proven on Saturday, with them falling for only the second time this season.

A 34th-minute goal from Divine Mukasa was enough to separate the teams, and the Irons take a big three points back to East London. Indeed, it means that they’re only a point behind Swansea - who remain the league leaders for the time being - and the bookmakers have seen enough.

Their odds have now taken a substantial turn towards the Evens mark, with most of the best football bookmakers sitting at that mark, though a few have dropped into the 10/11 region. In other words, that pre-season confidence is being proven right.

Swansea, on the other hand, are now backable at 16/1, but they were never held in as high regard. They’ve led the Championship for an age up to this point and whilst they still sit top, they’re likely to drop in the eyes of the bookies. We shall have to see what happens there.

Middlesbrough Drop Points Again

Another big favourite for the title this season was Middlesbrough, but the Red Army have hit a patch of inconsistency. There’s been plenty to like about them so far this season; there can be no denying that much. However, they’ve not been without fault.

Before this weekend’s game, they’d won a respectable three of their last five and that’s strong enough form. Yet, they’ve always just been doing enough. They’ve not run riot and all of their wins have been by a goal’s margin.

In other words, they’re a bit too vulnerable and that was seen again this weekend as they played Cardiff. Down by two goals inside the first 45 minutes, it seemed Boro were going to face their first defeat since late August. It wasn’t to be, though, thanks to goals from Tommy Conway and leading Golden Boot contender, Will Lankshear.

Their last win by two goals or more came on August 29th - a week after the defeat to Blackburn - and it's fair to say that they need to put in another performance like that soon. If they are unable to do so, questions need to be asked. They’re not treading water, but they’re close to doing so and a turnaround is needed quickly.

Sitting second in the title odds at 7/2, they’re a little bit short for me to really like currently. Of course, that could change, but with West Ham’s win this weekend, I’d sooner side with the Hammers than be a member of the Red Army…

Latest Top 8 Odds in the Championship

Wolves Chasing the Pack

The title conversation is just alluding Wolves currently, but that could all change this week, with them playing their game in hand against Portsmouth. If they win that, they’ll sit on 20 points and only be a few points away from the top of the division.

In terms of their game at the weekend, though, they faced Burnley and took three points back to Molineux. The Clarets certainly are not a Premier League side who have come down to the Championship and look woeful. So, if Wolves hadn’t won, there’d have been questions asked and whilst they didn’t make it easy, they got three points, which is what ultimately matters.

Goals from Fer Lopez and Tawanda Chirewa overturned Jamie Vardy’s early goal for the Clarets and it’s a nice three points on the road. At 15/2 with AK Bets to win the title, they could certainly return to that conversation, maybe as an E/W play.

For now, though, their most relevant price is the 1/7 for them to get a top eight spot. That’s not a price we’d be taking, though.

Saints Stop Marching

Southampton’s run of fantastic form ended this weekend, as they were held to an underwhelming 0-0 draw against Bolton. The Whites have outperformed the expectations placed on them so far this season and this result is further proof of that.

Yet, for the Saints, it’s a big opportunity missed. Had they picked up all three, it would’ve been three wins on the bounce and four from their last seven. In terms of the standings, the relevance wouldn’t have been major. Nevertheless, it’s a poor result with very little to discuss. At 2/7 for a top eight spot, it maybe offers some value, but you’d probably have to pair it with another selection.

Blues Flying

Birmingham had started the season with plenty of draws, but they’re now on the rise and it’s a substantial one. I’d backed QPR or Draw in my tips this weekend, thinking that there were some holes in the hosts’ form. How wrong I was!

A 3-0 win against the Hoops is a significant result at home and it proves that they’re very much in the conversation for a top eight place, even if they’ve maybe been dismissed until this point. After this weekend’s result, they’ve won four of their last five games and it maybe should’ve been 5/5 if they managed to beat Boro, rather than drawing.

4/9 with Betfair and the Flutter brands is not a massive price, but in their current form, those odds will only shorten. Maybe it could and should be paired with the Saints’ price for a nice double…

General Picture

Stoke have been a revelation this season and appear to be doing all of the right things, having a strong summer and picking up points early on and this weekend, it was no different. A trip to Pride Park left their fans with plenty of pride, as they picked up a 1-0 win.

It’s a big three points against a struggling side and it’s these sorts of wins that have eluded the Potters for so long now. A big result and they’re somehow still backable at 2/1 for a top eight place.

For West Brom, things weren’t as smooth as they were 2-0 down inside 12 minutes this weekend. Yet, they pulled off a brilliant comeback rounded off by an 89th-minute Felix Horn Myhre winner. You can say it’s a worrying result because of how it came.

But it’s three big points and a huge comeback. These sorts of wins actually do a lot of good every now and again, but they cannot become a regularity. Sitting at the Evens mark for a top eight finish, it could be worth a look.

Latest Relegation Odds in the Championship

Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2026/27 Championship season.

Championship Relegation Betting Preston North End Was 8/11
2/5
Championship Relegation Betting Derby County
11/8
Championship Relegation Betting Charlton
12/5

Preston Properly Doomed

With the change in manager, it was hoped that Preston would start to pick up a few results, but a 4-1 defeat to Wrexham this weekend has only further proven that the issue isn’t completely with the manager.

The squad, as was suggested in the summer, is really quite poor and they’ve now conceded 24 goals this season. It’s more than anyone else in the league and it wouldn’t be a surprise if that figure continued to drop.

Wrexham’s recent form has been incredibly patchy, too, so it’s not like they’ve lost to last season’s play-off-chasing side. Instead, it’s a big defeat to a mid-table side. However you frame it, it doesn’t get any better. They’re 2/5 to go down this season; it’s difficult to say that it’s not generous, in all honesty.

Another Defeat for Derby

We tipped a loss for Derby this weekend, and we were proven right as Stoke took all three points. Considering how last season went, this is a real shock for many. In just a few months, the Rams have gone from a top-eight-level team to a relegation side.

It’s an extreme that has been seen on a few occasions, yes, but this just feels like a complete collapse. Betfred are still offering 11/8 for them to go down and with four defeats in their last five games, you’d struggle to see that price getting bigger at this rate.

General Picture

I’ve mentioned Burnley a few times in this section, and they’re on the verge of moving into the actual relegation contenders. With their relegation from the Premier League, this position is a shock and they’ve just not adjusted.

Two defeats in their last five - including this weekend’s loss to Wolves - isn’t awful. However, they’re struggling massively and are facing a real chance of a drop this season. There are teams in worse form, but the points aren’t coming for the Clarets and their odds are shortening; they’re now just 8/1 to go down.

Norwich, then, are the other big worry for me now. They’ve lost their last six games in all competitions, conceding 17 goals in that period, too. It’s been a tough run, yes, with Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Swansea and Southampton faced.

But morale is clearly low and recovering from that is going to take time. Whether they have that time is another conversation entirely, but the bookmakers think they do, still pricing them at 25/1 to go down to League One… that looks a bit big, but not as big as last week's 40/1.
