Although Friday's game did not go as they would have hoped, a draw was still enough for the Sky Blues to secure promotion to the Premier League after recent years of despair.
Runners-up in the play-off final in 2022/23, FA Cup semi-finalists in 2023/24 and play-off semi-finalists in the 2024/25 season. It is not like this is a miracle story of things clicking.
Instead, they have been a well-oiled machine destined for things to finally go in their favour. This season, things have done that and they deserve a significant amount of credit for it.
The Championship title may be secured this weekend and whilst the best football bookmakers have the title odds still in focus, one bookie has looked elsewhere.
After their promotion to the Premier League was confirmed, Bet365 have now begun to offer odds on how they will fare next season and there are some interesting prices.
Below, you can see the different odds offered by the bookmaker for their Premier League chances.
It is no surprise that Bet365 are already looking to offer shots on the Sky Blues to win the Premier League. It is almost guaranteed to take money from those who may be a little hopeful.
First and foremost, there has never been a team to win the Premier League after promotion from the Championship or the second division.
In fact, no team has achieved this feat since 1977, when Nottingham Forest won the First Division at the first time of asking after promotion in the previous season.
In other words, 2000/1, whilst it would be fun, feels like terrible value. It also doesn't historically have much chance. I'd be wanting much higher odds for the Sky Blues to break a 50-year record.
When it comes to the Champions League (a Top Four finish), Bet365 have given them a 150/1 chance of doing so.
A European tour after their first season in the Premier League would be the stuff of dreams.
Let alone a Champions League tour. With all due respect, going from playing Blackburn to potentially facing Barcelona in three seasons (in an official competition) would be magical.
The closest we've come in recent years was Wolves, who finished seventh in their first season in the Premier League. However, you would probably argue that their team was stronger at the time.
They were 14 points away from the top four that season. With the best teams only improving further and the gap to the Championship only growing in size.
It feels hopeful at 150/1. I'd not be taking this bet, even if I were a Coventry fan!
Even the 50/1 for them to get a Top Six place doesn't feel like enough to be tempted by. You'd have to be brave!
It is best to look at the middle of the pack as a complete package, really. There are a few different odds available, so we may as well compile them.
I think their chances of a top-half finish are a little speculative, in all honesty. Their squad is alright, but not Premier League quality. So, it rides a lot on investment and a lot of others falling.
In the European picture, there are so many good sides that now it is spilling into a 'European chase' and a 'relegation strugglers' situation. Do I think they will be in the first pack? Right now, no.
The bottom half price exists. That's enough on that.
Finally, we have the not to be relegated market and I don't think this is a bad price at all.
In recent years, the gap has increased substantially. However, the gap to the bottom is also growing and some teams just look doomed in the years to come. The fact that there are currently three established sides facing the threat of the drop, on top of the two already relegated, says enough.
6/4 may be a snippet of value and whilst it depends on their recruitment this summer, it may not be the worst antepost.
