Who Owns Mr Play?

Mr Play entered the UK gambling scene in 2019 and it's owned by a company called Marketplay Ltd. However, punters will be much more familiar with the company that operates the bookie's sportsbook and casino, named AG Communications Limited. This is done under a white-label agreement and as a result, Mr Play has quite a few sister sites.

Indeed, as per the Gambling Commission, AG Communications has just under 70 (!) active domain names and all of them are white-label solutions. The company has thus made it its speciality to provide gambling products for others, mostly new betting sites, and Mr Play is one of the bookies that have jumped on board.

Before reviewing some of the main sister sites, let's take a look at Mr Play and whether the AG Communications backing makes it a decent bookmaker or not.

My Thoughts on Mr Play

Mr Play is one of those bookmakers that you do not really need to join. The welcome offer is okay and might be worth claiming if you have joined most other bookies, but there is little reason to join and regularly bet here.

The sportsbook's navigation/design is rather dire. There are no promotions for punters, and some advanced markets are missing.

One of the few positives, aside from the welcome offer, is the fact that many payment methods are accepted. However, there are so many better options out there, and the white-label arrangement is too evident.

Mr Play Sister Sites Reviewed

Below, we review a selection of Mr Play's sister sites. As they are fundamentally the same product, we focus on their differences.

ZetBet logo new

ZetBet

Like Mr Play, ZetBet was launched in 2022 and has since become a relatively well-known sports bookie, even though there is a casino section. The bookie is also owned by Marketplay Ltd, making it an accurate sister site, and the company has used the two for some A/B testing.

ZetBet Sportsbook

The welcome offer is ultimately the same, with a bet £10 get £10 structure, but the sportsbook is much easier to navigate. This has to do with the colour scheme, which is orange on ZetBet rather than green, but it's also thanks to ZetBet having a boxed design rather than a full-width layout.

That said, with both bookies owned by the same company and using the same sportsbook platform, we are talking about identical products apart from those above (minor) factors.

HeySpin logo new

HeySpin

HeySpin, as the name suggests, focuses more on the casino side rather than the sportsbook. It was launched in 2020 and is owned by Chili Partners, which shook hands with AG Communications to get the product into the UK market. This white-label arrangement means the bookie is very similar to Mr Play.

HeySpin Sportsbook

The welcome offer differs slightly for the sportsbook as punters must stake £15 rather than £10 to get the £10 free bet. It was already the case with Luckster and ZetBet's offers, but HeySpin just clarifies that offers rarely compete with the best sign-up deals in the UK.

BzeeBet

The last sister site we are going to examine is BzeeBet. The site came to life in 2023 and is thus one of the newest AG Communications bookies. No owner is mentioned on the site, and although this is rather common with white-label sites, punters always prefer transparency, and we concur.

BzeeBet Sportsbook

The sportsbook and its features are nothing new, but the design differs a bit, as you can see in the screenshot above's top navigation. The welcome offer is the same as Mr Play and ZetBet, which is nice, but it certainly feels more 'clunky' to navigate the site compared to the sisters.
