BetNeptune UK Review (2024)

Launched in 2020, BetNeptune is one of a number of online casinos and sportsbooks that is run by ProgressPlay Limited, usually referred to as PPL for short.

Based in Malta, iGaming company PPL holds a licence from the Malta Gaming Authority.

BetNeptune is also fully compliant with the gaming rules and requirements of the Ireland National Excise License Office as it holds a separate licence for its operations in the country.

In the UK, it operates under a licence from the Gambling Commission. This indicates it can be considered a trusted place to play online casino games and bet on the big game of the day in a wide range of different sports - with esports also available to bet on here.

The BetNeptune sportsbook is classed as a white-label site. This means it runs on a platform built by PPL, which means it has a very similar layout and design to other PPL sites. PPL itself has been around for about a decade, so the iGaming company has a lot of experience in working out what works and what does not, as well as how to provide users with a good time.

The chief executive of PPL is Itai Lowenstein and he acts as the figurehead for the company, as well as betting brands like BetNeptune by association. Lowenstein's vast amount of industry experience includes five years at 888, for whom he held roles including head of Promotions, head of operation and casino director before becoming the CEO of Kamay Holdings.

New UK sportsbooks are emerging at a rapid rate, with BetNeptune providing another fresh option.

A rewards programme is also in place to encourage customers to keep coming back to BetNeptune, which has an online casino site as well as its sportsbook.

SSL encryption and firewall technology is in place at BetNeptune to keep players safe and secure, whether they are betting on sports or playing online casino games.

With 24/7 customer service also offered on the BetNeptune sportsbook, users who have questions or queries can get help at any time of the day or through the night.

But what else do people considering signing up for an account at BetNeptune need to know about the site? Our complete review of the BetNeptune sportsbook has the details, so read on.

BetNeptune Sportsbook Review

Anyone who has visited a PPL site in the past will likely be familiar with BetNeptune straight away. This betting site and online casino have the same layout and the same navigation. This means that sports are accessed from a menu on the right-hand side of the page. Small icons - not always the easiest to differentiate between - are in place to show each of the sports that are available to bet on here, with football unsurprisingly taking pride of place right at the top.

Markets are split into live and pre-match, with the default setting being that in-play events are shown automatically. This means it can take a few clicks to find the biggest sporting event of the day, while a random match from the Russian Premier League instead dominates the page. Football punters who are keen on having the best experience, meanwhile, might want to check out our top ten list for this sport.

Plenty of sports are available to bet on at BetNeptune, but horse racing is an area of weakness. Only meetings in the United States are offered, which feels like an unusual oversight. However, this is the case with all of the sites built on the PPL platform. Fans of the sport of kings, therefore, will need to visit one of the top sites for horse racing bets instead.

When it comes to football, the offering from BetNeptune is certainly a lot more impressive. Almost 1,000 different events are covered in this section of the BetNeptune sportsbook, with leagues and cups from all corners of the planet available to bet on. For a big game, such as one in the Premier League or some Champions League action, BetNeptune offers around 500 different bets. These include combos such as one team to win the first half but lose the match. Like on the other PPL sportsbooks, it is possible to bet on the number of throw-ins a team takes over the course of the match, as well as how many saves will be made during the contest.

Cricket, basketball and rugby are some of the other major sports to bet on at BetNeptune, and punters can also bet on tennis games. The sportsbook also offers the chance to bet on MMA, NASCAR, handball and chess, as well as the likes of netball and biathlon, though markets for these are more limited. As is the case with the other PPL sportsbooks, BetNeptune has plenty of esports markets.

With esports expected to play an increasingly big part in the future of the sports betting industry, with many great esports sites already, this is likely a smart move. Among the esports that are available to bet on here are Overwatch, Rainbow 6, StarCraft II, Valorant, Rocket League, Dota 2, League of Legends and CS:GO.

In terms of the betting margins, in our independent tests, BetNeptune averaged a high 7.05 margin, which is much higher than most bookies in the UK. If you are looking for the betting sites with the highest odds, we recommend BetVictor, bet365 or Betway. Alternatively, you can skip margins altogether and use the Betfair Exchange.

Promotions at BetNeptune are not great compared to the top betting sites out there. There is a 15% rebate offer for the Champions League and the Europa League, while some sports betting leaderboards are also in place too, with various prizes up for grabs. BetNeptune users can also move up the ranks of a VIP rewards scheme, but this is focused on the online casino.

All in all, BetNeptune can be ranked alongside the growing number of sportsbooks launched on the PPL platform. Some people are likely to be put off from joining by the £2.50 fee that is charged on all withdrawals from a BetNeptune account as well. Horse racing fans should steer clear for sure, but those who want to bet on esports will find that this is a solid enough option.

All sites using Progress Play platform are legit because it pays out automatically i.e the brand owner has no say in whether fundswinnings are withdrawn or not.Id happily play again any day of the week I love the interface and the game selection is good too for sport & casino

Has anyone ever received a withdrawal from Progressplay Limited Was it for a substantial amount Because I see only reviews where they stall or dont pay at all. And Im going through it with them currently. Also how much vetting is going on here with them recommended They are (as Ive now found out) notorious for being bent.
