Below, you can compare the latest transfer odds for the clubs likely to be vying for Trent Alexander-Arnold's signature during the summer transfer windows.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s next club odds are pretty much a straight shootout between two clubs – Real Madrid and his current club, Liverpool.
That’s not to say other clubs would not want to bring in a player of his quality, but with TAA we are talking about the cream of the crop, and very few can put together a package that is likely to turn his head at this stage of his career.
Real Madrid had a huge summer window in 2024, adding Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to their squad as headline grabbing names.
Those additions have not remotely added to the product Real Madrid have been able to put onto the grass, though with it very plausible the Spanish giants end the season without any silverware; the most notable competition within that being the Champions League, where they were obliterated across two legs by Arsenal.
Despite those challenges throughout the current campaign, Real Madrid remain the biggest club in the world and one that will, at least for the foreseeable future, have an enormous pull over the biggest talents in world football.
The fact that a poor season for Los Blancos involves a Champions League semi-final, a genuine title race and a Copa Del Rey final, two competitions of which they could still win, is testament as to why they are such an attractive proposition.
When you consider that without red-tinted glasses, you can see why Alexander-Arnold is seriously tempted by a move to the Bernabeu.
Liverpool, despite being a huge club, aren’t the same trophy-winning machine that Real are and, equally, it’s easy to forget that the England full-back has won everything with Liverpool.
Throw in his close friendship with Jude Bellingham, and there is another arm-twisting reason for TAA to take the move.
As detailed, it has been widely reported that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s next club is nailed on to be Real Madrid. Initially, that news was met with a lot of criticism from Liverpool fans as they struggled to comprehend why “one of their own” would want to leave their club.
That mood, certainly amongst match going fans, is starting to soften, though and not just because acceptance of Alexander-Arnold moving on is filtering through.
The main reason is that the Real Madrid chatter really gathered pace in late March. There has been no confirmation of that supposed deal from either party though; the longer it goes without official confirmation, the more doubt that starts to creep in.
That doubt – or perhaps more appropriately hope – has started to work its way into the Liverpool fanbase, after announcements of Mo Salah and Virgil Van Dijk both extending their contracts have fuelled talk of the 26-year-old right back doing a U-turn.
That fire had further fuel poured on it when Alexander-Arnold netted the winner at Leicester last week before passionately celebrating with the Liverpool fans.
A combination of all of that, together with Real Madrid having suffered a substandard season to the point where Carlo Ancelotti’s future is up in the air, means a last-minute Liverpool stay isn’t necessarily an impossibility.
