As of 20 May 2025, according to the odds, the favourite to be Bryan Mbeumo's next club is Arsenal, best priced at 5/2 with Coral.
The odds mean that the probability for Arsenal to be the next permanent club for Bryan Mbeumo is 28.57%.
For one reason or another, including Ivan Toney often hogging headlines at Brentford, Mbeumo has often not got the acclaim he deserves over the past few years.
He should have done. 2024/25 is far from the only season where the 25-year-old has impressed at the top level.
It does seem to be the year where he's getting his flowers, though, with his nomination for player of the season a clear indication of that.
With pace, power, technical ability and, above all, an incredible humbleness and willingness to work hard, Mbeumo probably improves every squad in the Premier League and, in truth, the vast majority of starting XIs as well.
The Bees will be loathed to lose their man, but their resolve might well be tested over the coming months. We look at who could be in the running as Brian Mbeumo's next club.
Newcastle look set to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and that will mean they need to add attacking depth to their squad.
Alexander Isak is nailed on to be their starting striker if he stays at the club this summer, whilst their options on the left wing are well covered with Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes sharing the load.
On the right, though, it’s only really Joshua Murphy; that is where their links with Mbeumo become interesting.
His physical qualities, in combination with his down-to-earth personality and on-field work rate, make him stand out as a perfect player for an Eddie Howe system.
With Howe looking to build a squad of improved quality without bringing in big egos to disrupt the dressing room at St James’ Park, you can see why this would be an addition the club are keen to make.
Mbeumo could well have his head turned by what Newcastle are looking to achieve as well, particularly with elite European competition likely.
We might be talking Mbeumo up as a superstar, but that doesn't mean he won't stay at Brentford. The bookies clearly think the Bees are a likely destination for him come next season. You can understand why,y too.
The Frenchman, who plays international football for Cameroon, has made incredible progress since joining Brentford in 2019, but the club are progressing well too, with Europe remaining a possibility for them this season all the way up until this weekend.
Whilst Thomas Frank remains in situ as manager and the club keeps looking upwards, the possibility of Mbeumo staying put with a fan base that worships him is something that shouldn't be ruled out. 3/1 to stay put is, in our opinion, a pretty big price.
There has been a lot made of Arsenal lacking a striker this season, but it hasn’t been their only problem. Not by a long stretch.
One of the big issues Arsenal have had is losing Bukayo Saka to injuries. If they had a Bryan Mbeumo in their squad, they’d have had the perfect replacement ready to go.
Whilst that makes perfect sense though, this isn’t Football Manager and laying down £60m for a player to probably fall behind Saka in the pecking order is a hefty outlay in a PSR-fuelled world. It’s also a hard sell to the player and not one we see Mbeumo pushing for.
Man United are currently leading favourites to secure the signature of Matheus Cunha. You'd expect that deal might kill any chase they were in for Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo is believed to be available for a not dissimilar fee to Cunha and offers comparable qualities in respect of having a good end product in the final third alongside a willingness to do the dirty side of the game.
With Cunha to Old Trafford seemingly a done deal, some of the other sides reportedly chasing Mbeumo, we're not sure there is value in this wager, even at 12/1.
