Compare the latest odds for the 2026 MLS winner, also known as the MLS Cup, from UK bookmakers.
The MLS Cup is the final clash of each MLS season, crowning the overall winner, but how do you get there? The regular MLS season is followed by the MLS Cup play-offs, in which 18 teams participate based on the regular season standings.
The play-offs work like any other knockout stage of a competition, such as the Champions League, meaning you end up with two finalists when it's all said and done. The only difference to note is that MLS conferences, the Eastern and the Western, each have their own side of the knockout tree.
As a result, in the MLS Cup final, you always end up with one team from the Eastern Conference and one from the Western Conference. The winner of this is crowned the MLS Champion and gets direct access to the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16.
The team with the most points in the regular MLS season (across both conferences), meanwhile, gets the Supporters' Shield award.
