As of 4 September 2025, according to the odds, the favourite to win Ligue 1 is PSG, best priced at 1/14 with Bet365.
The odds mean that the probability for PSG to win is 93.33%.
This is the shortest section in any of my previews so far, and it is impossible to guess why this is the case, isn't it? Unfortunately, the Ligue 1 market for the title is short, and that is all because of the favourites, PSG.
I am not going to go against them, I don't think it would make any sense to. There is seemingly no stopping the French giants, and I don't think there will be any change to the situation this season.
Of course, if you want a French league bet, it is possible to combine this with others. However, as a market itself, it is probably best to use it as a booster or to use it with a booster. So, betting on a football game and PSG to win the league, or something like that, for an odds boost.
The Parisiens looked superb in the summer, even though they fell quite embarrassingly to Chelsea. However, the champions of Europe should face few issues in the league this season.
It would be a shock, in fact, if they did face any extended issues.
There are no moves of note to discuss so far this summer, either in or out, and with how they did last season, there probably won't be a need for them to be. To be frank, it is not really worth backing this as a single. The price is just not worth it for almost a year of waiting.
Obviously, the prestige of winning the Ligue 1 is what the clubs have top of mind, but there are more benefits to finishing in first place. First of all, the champions get a bigger share of the TV rights revenue than the rest, as well as being seeded in the first pot for the Champions League league stage draw.
Paris Saint-Germain have been dominating French football in the last decade or so, finishing on top in 11 of the last 13 seasons. It remains to be seen if they can be challenged in the 2025/26 season, with Monaco and Lille both having their eye on the price. Marseille, with Roberto De Zerbi finding his groove, are also a decent shout.
