After the third weekend of Premier League action, we're back with another Odds Watch. Here we go through the winners and losers of the week and what the market is saying!
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to win the league in the 2026/27 Premier League season.
As the champions, Arsenal perhaps have more pressure on them ever before. They've got the first title, but now it's about building a legacy and winning games like your first London derby of the season is a must.
So, when Chelsea took the lead in the early stages, there was excitement. Now, this isn't anti-Arsenal, far from it. But rather there was potentially a new competitor emerging, something to make a two-team title race something more.
However, the Gunners did it once again.
They got their goals in the right moments and took all three points. It wasn't pretty, but it was very Arsenal. It's also a major blow dealt in the title race. The Blues have looked like a potential contender this season, so losing here is a blow to their hopes. Even if it's not a substantial one, it's still an unwanted stoppage.
The best football bookmakers have, perhaps, taken a bit too much from that game, too. Right now, the Blues are 8/1 to win the Premier League, which feels like a bit of an overreaction. They were 6/1 last week, so it's a pretty steep rise.
For the Gunners, their odds of retaining the league title have dropped again, as you'd imagine. In fact, they're now as low as 7/10 to win the Premier League. We're not even out of September, yet!
When Manchester City put a few past Crystal Palace, people got thinking about how bad the scoreline could look against Coventry. For those FPL players among us, we all certainly thought that it could be a potential slaughtering.
Yet, it wasn't.
Coventry rocked up to the Etihad with nothing to lose and were really solid. They created as many big chances and whilst they converted none, it showed that there is something from the Sky Blues - which we've not seen so far this season.
Still, though, Erling Haaland got a goal and that was it. In a game that seemed like it'd be much more, it was the second lowest scoring fixture of the weekend*. City won't complain, a routine win like that is fine.
Now, they can be backed at 3/1 to win the league title.
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to get a Top Four finish in the 2026/27 Premier League season.
After back to back draws, Liverpool needed a big win on Friday night and they certainly got it against Ipswich. A brace from Alexander Isak inside 10 minutes saw the game to bed and whilst there may be frustrations that there weren't more goals, there won't be too many complaints.
The Reds are now up and running for the season, with Isak also grabbing two lovely goals - something which shows that the Golden Boot race may not be so simple... but we'll get to that! They're now 17/20 to get a Top Four spot, moving into favouritism (outside the title competitors).
Manchester United have been strange so far this season and their draw to Everton proved as much again. Yet again, they look far from bulletproof and conceding a late goal is just the latest disappointment for them.
It's a great strike from Ainsley Maitland-Niles on debut, but there are questions that can be asked of why he was allowed that opportunity so late into the game. From a Red Devils perspective, it's just the latest case of the Reds letting it slip late on... A worrying sign for a Top Four contender.
The Top Four odds are really weird currently, because you've got a semi-clear top three currently. That fourth spot, though, is being contested heavily. It's great for betting, as it means there's a bit more value available and that even stretches to the Top Six markets!
Above that, though, it's great for the neutral fan.
So, the current sixth favourite for the Top Four is Brentford - who are about 13/2 with the Flutter brands - and they were unfortunate to not add another win to their tally this weekend against Sunderland. The Black Cats have been expected to struggle this season. So, the Bees maybe should've won at home.
Nevertheless, it's another point on the board and they remain unbeaten so far this season.
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2026/27 Premier League season.
We've already discussed the Coventry result earlier, but it's worth touching on again here. They weren't awful at the Etihad this weekend and maybe they even deserved a point from the game. Unfortunately, the hosts' class just prevailed, which you'd expect.
After the loss, they're now the favourites to go down this season and it's understandable why. However, it's not as much to do with their result this weekend, but rather how other teams are doing. Considering they've played Manchester City and Arsenal, they may start to improve from now...
After two huge wins already this season, it would be fair to suggest that some thought that Hull's bubble may burst against an Aston Villa side that really needed to show something. However, it didn't and the Tigers' impressive start to Premier League life has continued.
A goalless draw against Villa at home is a hugely impressive result again and they now actually sit third in the Premier League. Yes, you read that right, Hull are third.
Yet, they're still backable at 8/15 to go down this season. It's fair to say that the bookmakers aren't buying into the Hull hype this season, so the price remains perhaps harshly low for them so far...
We've discussed their loss to Liverpool already, but it's worth looking at here again. Playing against one of the league's bigger teams is never easy. Yet, conceding two goals inside 10 minutes just makes your job impossibly tough.
It's novice-y and in the Premier League, you'll get punished for doing that.
We've spoken quite a lot about Fulham's problems so far, but it feels like it'll be a regularity this season. They're only alongside Coventry for having no points on the board so far this season and it doesn't seem like it's going to improve.
Indeed, the Cottagers look woeful. After leading twice, they dropped all three points to a poor Crystal Palace side and that just can't happen. They're in real danger of the drop this season and after being 6/1 in the summer, they're now just 9/4 to go down.
Some bookmakers even have them below 2/1, it's telling.
Seeing Coventry in the fixture list was an opportunity in the eyes of most for Erling Haaland to grab a couple of goals, but he didn't. Indeed, a singular addition to his tally for the season was all that he could muster against the newly promoted side.
It's not a great result for anyone who played their Triple Captain chip on FPL, but it keeps the Golden Boot race interesting. We can't complain!
With three goals in his last two games, it seems things are now starting to fall in Isak's favour again. The Swede spent last season out injured and so getting back into rhythm has been a little tough, but he's managing.
A brace against Ipswich is welcomed, too. So. if he continues in this form, that price will only continue to go down. After all, he was 12/1 before the weekend, he's now as low as 7/1 in places. However, SpreadEx are offering 8/1 - like we say, you always get the best value using BettingLounge!
