Another weekend of League One action has been and gone, so we can now look at the market and how it's reacted to what we saw on Matchday 11.
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to win the title in the 2026/27 League One season.
After another win at the weekend - their third in a row now - Stockport's position as the favourites to lift the League One title has only grown in strength. Indeed, the Hatters are now 2/1 from 5/2 to lift the league and that feels a little... extreme.
Bromley have been a stalling point for perhaps their biggest rivals (who we'll get to), but they've edged past them with one goal, a single big chance and that's about it. For a 2/1 priced team for the title, you'd maybe want a little more.
I said Stockport were a little short last weekend; I can't help but feel the same way now.
The big game this weekend involved two of League One's title-contending sides, Plymouth Argyle and their visitors Huddersfield Town. A game which the bookmakers struggled to price - for all the right reasons - it looked like it was going to be a close affair.
Instead, the Terriers grabbed three points with relative ease, scoring two without a response from Plymouth. Winning three of their last four in all competitions, it's another big result for Martin Drury's side, who are now the second favourites to win the league.
At 4/1, the money has come for the West Yorkshire outfit, having been 6/1 to lift the league title after last weekend's games. For what it's worth, Plymouth have drifted from 7/1 to 10/1, which feels like something of an overreaction.
At 1/4 with three places offered, it's not exactly the worst offering in the world, it must be said.
Michael Duff has also gotten off the ground in League One for Bradford City, after drawing his opener last weekend. It's a big win for the former Wycombe boss, as they grabbed a 2-0 win at home against a Stevenage side who have shown signs of being able to push into the top 10.
For what it's worth, the Bantams are now third favourite to lift the title this season with the best football bookmakers pricing them around the 9/1 mark; so they're still a way away from being called the favourites.
Nevertheless, three points at Valley Parade at the second time of asking is still a very good start. If Duff can get them into gear now, who knows how far they'll go...
Below, we have collected the top teams - aside from the big favourites - and their respective odds to finish top 6 in the the 2026/27 League One season.
Given how many teams are somewhat unconvincing in League One's promotion race, it's best to just look at one team in depth here: Sheffield Wednesday. They've flirted with a title challenge - which could still be possible - but they currently sit in sixth.
Unbeaten in their last seven games, the Owls have somehow left fans wanting more, with three draws in their last four games before the weekend. So, the result against Wimbledon at Hillsborough will have appealed.
A five-goal win, with Davis Keillor-Dunn getting a brace, is perfect. It's a statement result and the bookmakers aren't taking any notice of it, still pricing them at 10/1 to win the league. Even the 10/11 with the Flutter brands appeals for a top six finish...
With a game in hand on everyone in the play-offs, they could go top if they win it... That 10/1 looks a very, very generous price.
I still cannot believe the price for Cambridge. Most betting apps still have them at 3/1 for a play-off spot this season and they're flying. With a four-point gap to seventh, they have a nice cushion and their win against Barnsley proves they can compete in this division.
Oxford United are quietly going about their business, too. Again, they're at 3/1 for a top six finish, but that seems rather generous. They sit three points behind Wednesday, with a game in hand on them and two on the rest of the play-offs. If they win both, they'll be sat on 21 points - taking them top.
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2026/27 League One season.
Before this weekend, Wigan were quite detached from the rest of the league, sitting bottom by three points with seemingly little hope. However, that has somewhat changed this weekend, with them grabbing a huge win against a play-off-chasing Reading side.
A one-goal margin was enough for the Latics and those three points could be huge, but they remain bottom. Considering 20th sit on eight points, maybe they're not too far away from something of a push for safety.
The bookmakers now have them at 7/4 to go down, so there are signs of life.
For Notts County, things are looking pretty torrid. They'd lost three of their five previous games coming into this game and they once again fell short, this time to Wycombe Wanderers. After their strong-ish start, finding places for them to get points seems difficult.
Yet, they're still around the 9/5 mark to go down. It's not a price I'd be rushing to take, but they are a team to watch in the next few weeks, with some very tough games ahead of them. They're certainly in danger of relegation to League Two.
For Bromley, it was another defeat this weekend, but they didn't perform awfully. A 1-0 loss away to Stockport County is solid enough and for a defence that have conceded 21 goals so far, it's a respectable defeat.
The bookmakers are clearly not of the same opinion, though, and have priced them at 1/2 to go down already. It seems likely that the price will continue to drop - they're quite clearly not a League One team - but I'd not be taking 1/2.
Finally, we come to Barnsley, who are staring at the threat of relegation face on right now and quivering. They've not won a game - in any competition - since September 2, and with four defeats in their last five, they look on the verge of being doomed.
This weekend's loss came at home against a pretty solid Cambridge side and whilst their recent fixtures have been tough, they've never looked like a team capable of avoiding relegation this season. I picked them out at 13/5 last week, and they're still 21/10 with the Flutter brands. That price is only going to drop; I'm quite confident of that.
Finally, I wanted to look at Blackpool, who are sitting just outside of the bottom four. The Tangerines haven't won in League One since August 29th and it seems unlikely that they'll be changing that any time soon.
With defeats to Barnsley and Leyton Orient in this weekend's game, alongside a draw with Bromley last month, they are proving that they cannot compete against teams around them. The story doesn't change at the top of the league either...
At 5/2 to go down this season, it's a worrying position to be in and I don't think they'll escape it any time soon.
