It's Day Three of the Ebor Festival and BettingLounge's racing expert Ben has gone through some of his favourite bets for the day, putting them in one place for you.
So, let's just dive in.
For my NAP, I've gone for Caballo De Mar in the second race of the day.
Drawn low, Oisin Murphy will have a lot of his work done for him early on, given he won't have to do much to find a position.
Over two miles, it's a real test of stamina and the ground doesn't make it any easier. So, the fact that this 5-year-old gelding has form beyond two miles is a real benefit. In other words, there shouldn't be any stamina issues.
Coming off a last-placed run LTO, this drop down in trip should help substantially, especially with it being a step down to a Group 2 race.
Before that last performance, he'd won three of his four races at two miles or more and came second in his other start.
So, he should well be up there on Friday. Hopefully getting us off to a good start to the day at 5/2.
For my NB bet, I'm going for an E/W bet on Pershaada in the Nunthorpe stakes. This looks to be a really tough race on paper, as I'll continue to say, with the ground.
At 12/1, you're guaranteed profit if she hits the frame and I believe she's got a strong chance. As a 2-year-old, Richard Hannon's filly is 22 pounds better off than her rivals, which is substantial.
I'd worry about her not having any form on softer ground and the draw isn't ideal at 11. However, at this mark, she should be a big challenger.
Before we get into this, I understand that selling a 50/1 shot is a tough task. However, with the uncertainty of the ground, I think there could be some value in looking at these huge prices.
Running over 1m2f, the draw bias is pretty minimal, so we're instead focusing on a filly that can lead here and Folk Pageant certainly can.
Prominently ridden in her last four starts - tracking the leader in her three wins prior to the change in run style - she should have the speed to get into a good position early on.
Winning her only race on soft ground, placing on good to soft, and winning her two races on good ground, she arrives into this race with a great mark and experience on a variety of ground-types. This is a must in my eyes with how York currently is.
So, I think there's a chance that she could defy her 50/1 odds. It's a big risk, of course, so it's a lower stake long shot.
Good luck with your picks, and let us know if you back any of our selections on X @BetLoungeTips!
