Who Owns Virgin Bet?

For obvious reasons, punters might look at Virgin Bet and assume that it is owned by the Virgin Group. However, this is not the case as the LiveScore Group owns and operates the betting site, having reached a licensing agreement with the Virgin Group in 2019. The name and subsequently the brand are the only things tied to Virgin Group, in other words.

As a result of the above, Virgin Bet is a sister site of the up-and-coming LiveScore Bet. The bookie was launched one year after the partnership with the Virgin Group and today, many would consider LiveScore Bet to be the stronger of the two. Of course, this mainly has to do with the popular live score app LiveScore.

Before delving into LiveScore Bet, what makes Virgin Bet so good? And what are the main strengths? Let's take a look.

My Thoughts on Virgin Bet

The Virgin brand has always been synonymous with pleased customers and although Virgin Bet isn't my No.1 choice, this appears to be the case for the bookie as well. Above all, though, the sportsbook is extremely easy to navigate and there are plenty of markets to choose from, with fun promotions such as the free-to-play Virgin Bet Fives as well.

The betting app has great ratings on both app stores and with the backing of the LiveScore Group, there isn't much that can go wrong for Virgin Bet. However, it should be noted that Virgin Bet doesn't have as many payment methods as LiveScore Bet, which is indeed something that caught us by surprise.

Virgin Sister Sites Reviewed

Below, we take a closer look at LiveScore Bet and since the sportsbooks are identical in many ways, we focus on the differences between the bookies.

LiveScore Bet

As mentioned earlier, LiveScore Bet is mainly known for the tremendous LiveScore app, which has been a staple of football score updates for many years now. It certainly made a lot of sense for the LiveScore Group to launch a betting site with the same brand, moving its impressive live streaming to the bookie as well.

LiveScore Bet Streaming

The sportsbook is very good, just like Virgin Bet, and LiveScore Bet's welcome offer is actually better than its sister site. LiveScore bet has an identical game to Virgin Bet FIVES named SQUADS and the bookie also has another free-to-play game named LiveScore 6, which has a whopping jackpot of £1m.

The feeling is that LiveScore Bet is getting a bit more love, especially given it has more payment methods, but both bookies are excellent choices for UK punters. Just because it is already such a strong brand in football, combined with the LiveScore 6 game, we prefer to use LiveScore Bet.

Virgin Bet and Kambi

In 2023, the LiveScore Group entered into an agreement with the sportsbook provider Kambi and in May 2024, this new sportsbook technology was rolled out on Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet. Therefore, the betting sites might appear similar - at least with the odds - to some of the other Kambi bookies such as Unibet and LeoVegas.

Virgin Bet Sister Sites Payment Methods

Below, we have collected everything you need to know about deposits and withdrawals on LiveScore Bet, which is Virgin Bet's sister site. Interestingly enough, the former has two more options than the latter - Apple Pay and Trustly - so it remains to be seen if this will be added in the future.
