If you didn't know, Dancing on Ice is a British TV series that has been on air since 2006, and features 12 celebrity contestants and their professional figure skating partners, performing live ice dancing routines in front of a panel of judges. The show typically airs every Sunday at 6 pm on ITV and lasts two hours. It is often compared to BBC's Strictly Come Dancing which airs in October each year.
Each week, celebrities and their professional figure skating partners perform a live ice dancing routine, and a panel of judges mark each performance between 0.0 and 10.0. The total scores then create a leaderboard which then combines a public vote in order to determine the two lowest placed couples.
Then, the two couples with the lowest scores compete in a final showdown (Skate-Off) in which they perform their routine again. After these performances, the judges vote on who deserves to stay based on the second performance. The couple with the most votes from the judges wins a place in the following weeks show, and the couple with the fewest votes leaves the competition. One pair leaves the competition each week and there are betting markets for the next elimination every week throughout the series.
