Semi-Finals Best Bets Explained

For each game, I have tried to select a few bets of interest at attractive prices. Of course, these can be played as singles or as part of bet builders. Perhaps, it can just be a bit of inspiration for your own choices.

Fluminense vs. Chelsea

Fluminense's journey in the Club World Cup has been astounding, frankly. However, I think it may come to an end here against Chelsea. So, let's get into the picks.

My first is for Cole Palmer to have a shot on target from outside the box. In honesty, I was fairly tempted to go for 2+, as Fluminense do give away quite a few fouls, which means he should be involved from set pieces. Nevertheless, just below Evens is a good enough price for me.

After that, I've taken 23/20 on the corner market. I feel there is often a lot of value in these markets, and here is no different, so I'm taking Chelsea with a -2 corner handicap. In their recent games, Fluminense have been overwhelmed with corners, and Chelsea have had at least three more corners than their opponents in their past three games.

In fact, there has been a gap of seven and eight in their past two games, so you could even go a little riskier and take the -3 handicap at 2/1. Of course, we get the push here too, so if there are only two corners more, our stake is refunded, if you will.

Finally, at some of the strangest odds I've seen, I've gone for Chelsea to win the first half at 17/13 (?!). In my last set of tips, I tipped the Blues to score first, and Fluminense's first goal record is not hugely impressive. So, I think this gives us a nice price.

PSG vs. Real Madrid

This is another corker of a game, and should be a fantastic spectacle for fans to watch. Aside from that, there are a few bits of value here, but I think this may be a bet builder game with the odds not massively impressive.

My first pick, then, as boring as it may be, is for both teams to score. They have scored 12 and 11 goals, respectively, with PSG scoring once more than their opponents. Both have good defensive records, but I'm still willing to take on the BTTS market at 1/2.

Then, I really like the look of Joao Neves to have two or more tackles in this game. Whilst his numbers have been a little low in this competition, the Parisian outfit have not really been tested. So, I think, with a little more challenge, the Portuguese midfielder could get stuck in. Ladbrokes are paying 19/20, which is taking my fancy.

Finally, I've gone for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score or assist. Alongside Achraf Hakimi and Joao Neves, the attacker has gotten three goals/assists this summer, and I think he could add another here against Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Previous Tips Revisited

From our Club World Cup preview, there have been some hit-and-miss results, though this was to be expected.

However, my tip for Real Madrid to win the competition is still going on, and we can hope for success there, despite them facing PSG on Wednesday night (20:00 UK). I would be lying now, though, if I said I was completely confident of that coming in.

With that said, whoever wins that game should win the whole tournament, with the greatest respect.

I also made some tips for the quarter-finals, and we had quite a bit of success with them, if I do say so myself. From the seven tips I put forward, we had four tips returned and we were close to having five.

We'll start with the losing selections; firstly, I had Al-Hilal to beat Fluminense, and they lost marginally, despite dominating the game. At 1/2, my tip for PSG and Bayern Munich BTTS did not come through, unfortunately. Finally, Real Madrid won but not with the handicap, though both Borussia Dortmund goals came after the 90th minute, so we were close.

Moving on to my preferred section here, let's look at the winners. We had a winner in each game, which was really nice. It started off with Marcos Leonardo scoring for Al-Hilal, returning at 6/5 with Bet365. A nice start indeed.

Then, my only tip in the Chelsea game was for the Blues to score first, and Cole Palmer did the business for us there.

Finally, there were fewer than 9.5 corners in the PSG vs. Bayern game, returning us even money, which I won't complain about, whilst Gonzalo Garcia scored to give us a winner in the Madrid-Dortmund clash.

We take those, certainly.
