2024 PGA Championship May 16-19th Preview

Scheffler is the absolute dominant force on this year's PGA Tour. In his 10 starts so far this season, he's registered 9 top 10s, including 4 wins in his last 5 starts.

He is the current Masters Champion after winning at Augusta by a convincing 4 shots. He then backed that up a week later by winning the RBC Heritage by 3 shots.

The World Number 1 will, without a doubt, be eyeing another Major Championship, but he is extremely short-priced in the betting. It's certainly warranted, however, so he's a player you can't rule out.

Mcilory won the PGA Championship last time it was held at Valhalla in 2014 so he’ll certainly have great memories at this course. He's coming into this week in top form, having won a record 4th Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow last time out by 5 shots.

He finished with a final round -6 65 to make it his second straight PGA Tour victory after his win partnering Shane Lowry in the Zurich Classic two weeks ago in New Orleans.

A Rejuvenated Mcilroy will be looking to end his Major drought that now stretches to 10 years, and I expect him to be in the mix. Although short in the betting, he's a player bang in form, so he can not be dismissed.

Koepka is the defending PGA Champion, having won his 3rd PGA Championship in 6 years at Oak Hill last year. He's coming into this event on the back of a victory in Singapore on the LIV Golf Tour last week.

Although, for now, there are question marks over the LIV players based on how competitive the tournaments and fields truly are, Keopka remains a fierce competitor and a major machine, thus always getting his game ready for these big tournaments.

If he gets his driving accuracy on point this week, his length off the tee will eat up this golf course.

The 2023 US Open Champion has had a pretty solid season up to now. In his 11 starts on the PGA Tour this season, he's had 1 win and 4 top 5s, including two 2nd place finishes back to back in March, coming in the inaugural Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship.

He's certainly no stranger to the big events after his breakthrough season last year and will be looking to build on his start to this season at Valhalla.

His driving average of 304.1 yards puts him 4th on Tour overall, which will likely give him a huge advantage on a long course like this.

Byeong Hun An - Coming into this tournament in a good reign of form on the back of a 3rd place finish at the Wells Fargo at the weekend and a T4 the week before in the Byron Nelson.

He's had 5 top 10s in 13 starts this season on the PGA tour and has a driving average of 303.6 yards, placing him 6th overall. Again, because this course is suited to length off the tee, I expect Byeong Hun An to be right in the mix if he hits the fairway consistently.

Taylor Pendrith - Pendrith is a guy who's starting to make his mark on the PGA Tour, having broken through to his first PGA Tour win just 2 weeks ago at the Bryon Nelson.

He backed that up the following week with a T10 at the Wells Fargo and had two T11 the events before his win. He's another big hitter with a tour average of 304.5 yards.
