How Do Memberships Work at The Pools?

Several bookmakers offer clubs or rewards programmes to add value to their customers. However, very few of them charge customers to join those clubs. So, we wanted to see what The Pools offered for a fee.

Short Answer

The Pools offers three membership tiers: the Classic Pools for £10 per month, the Goal Rush for £20 per month, and finally the Lucky Clover for £15 per month. These memberships were incorporated as part of The Pools' website relaunch in December 2024, teaming up with GIG.

Each of these membership tiers offers different perks, as indicated by the names and pricing. For example, the Goal Rush tier gives you 10 entries into the Goal Rush game every month, a £1 free bet every Friday, £20 in free bets as a welcome bonus, and more.

The Pools Membership Explained

It is nothing new for bookmakers to offer 'Rewards Programmes', betting clubs and similar promotions for existing customers. For example, Paddy Power offers a very popular rewards system, where free bets and spins can be won on a weekly basis.

Most of the time, these rewards and incentives are won via the bets you place in a given period, such as during the week or month. This is not the case with The Pools, though, as punters have to pay a monthly fee to get exclusive offers (which vary depending on the membership chosen).

Memberships the pools

At present, there are three target audiences: a basic membership for sports punters at £10 per month (the Classic Pools), a premium membership for sports punters at £20 per month (the Goal Rush) and finally a medium membership for casino players at £15 per month (Lucky Clover).

It should be noted that while these differ in many ways, there are also some shared benefits between the tiers: access to the free-to-play weekly game Pools Picks, exclusive promotions, and exclusive prize draws (besides the usual jackpot games).

The Pools Membership Tiers

It is difficult to say which tier at The Pools offers the best value, seeing as it depends on what you are looking for. Furthermore, to use the standard sportsbook and casino, it is not actually necessary to sign up for a membership. Only for the jackpot games is it required.

Without a doubt, we would not rate The Pools as highly as we do if a membership were required. Now, instead, the membership is a rather nice addition as those who really like the jackpot games can get access for a relatively low fee (and with lots of perks involved too).

Having said all of the above, which of the tiers offers the best value?

  • Classic Pools - £10 a Month

    • £10 welcome bonus (2 x £5 free bets)
    • 10 Score Draw entries per month
    • £1 free bet every Friday

Starting with the Classic Pools, members are given an initial £10 welcome bonus, in the form of two £5 free bets. Then, you are given 10 entries per month to Score Draw, for which the jackpot stands at £3 million.

Additionally, you are given a £1 free bet every Friday. So, after the initial sign-up, you are down around £6 per month, if you win nothing from the prize entries.

  • Lucky Clover - £15 a Month

    • £15 welcome bonus (150 free spins)
    • 10 Lucky Clover Draw entries per month
    • 10 free spins every Friday

Like with the Classic Pools, your first month's fee is given back to you when you sign up for the Lucky Clover membership. This time, it is in the form of 150 casino free spins, while you also get entries for the Lucky Clover draw (£1 million prize pot).

Furthermore, you are given 10 free spins each Friday, but these are valued at 10p per spin.

  • Goal Rush - £20 a Month

    • 205 welcome bonus (4 x £5 free bets)
    • 10 Gold Rush Draw entries per month
    • £1 free bet every Friday

Finally, we have the Goal Rush membership, which is the most expensive one at £20 per month. Again, you are given a free bet amount, this time 4 x £5 free bets to be used on any sport, which is certainly nice.

However, you are not given more generous free bets every Friday, with the amount remaining at £1 like the Classic Pools. Having said that, you are given 10 entries into a £5 million Goal Rush jackpot draw every month.

If you are going to sign up for one of the memberships, it feels difficult to look past the Classic Pools. Members have a chance of winning the second-highest jackpot at £3m, whilst paying the lowest monthly fee, and the welcome bonus is indeed decent enough.

As alluded to at the start, you also get access to more or less all basic perks that the memberships offer in general, from the exclusive promotions to free-to-play games. So, if you want to sign up for one of the memberships, our preference would be the £10 basic package.
