UKGC (Reference:39170)

Launched in 2017, NetBet has a sportsbook and an online casino for players to enjoy. In this review, we highlight the pros and cons of the site so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not to sign up.

An online betting site that has long been very popular in parts of mainland Europe, NetBet is placing more emphasis on breaking the UK market right now. But the NetBet welcome bonus is not a particularly good one and players can find better promotions on rival gambling sites.

The recently launched NetBet sports betting app has made a solid enough start but there is still quite a lot of work to do to bring it in line with the best options out there for sports fans.

While the margins on offer and the depth of sports betting markets are pretty decent at NetBet, customers might find they would have a better time by joining one of the best betting sites in the country, like Bet365.

About NetBet

NetBet might have only arrived in the UK in 2017, but it was actually founded more than 20 years ago. As a result, it is a long-established online betting site with plenty of history. The owner is NetBet Enterprises Limited, which has its headquarters on the Mediterranean island of Malta, like many iGaming companies.

At the start of 2024, NetBet announced that it had signed up the former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour to act as a brand ambassador in the UK. In a statement that was released to mark the partnership, he said: "I'm thrilled to be part of NetBet. We've got an unbelievable year of sport ahead and NetBet has some fantastic plans for me to get involved with."

NetBet has previously been the sponsor of Ligue 1 football team AS Saint-Etienne, while it has targeted the South American market via a deal with Brazilian side Red Bull Bragantino. Our full review of NetBet in the UK will cover key information such as the NetBet welcome offer, other NetBet betting bonuses, NetBet sports betting markets and its customer service.

Is NetBet Legit and Safe?

Security and safety are vital areas for sports fans in the UK who are looking to bet online. NetBet is legally operating as an online sportsbook and casino site in the UK as it has a licence from the Gambling Commission. The licence number for NetBet in the UK is 39170.

NetBet has fallen foul of UKGC in the past, though. An investigation by the body found that between November 2018 and May 2019, the site did not comply with two licence conditions that are particularly focused on social responsibility and anti-money laundering measures. NetBet had to pay £748,000 towards the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms as a result.

However, it is also worth pointing out that NetBet does have an okay rating on TrustPilot. At the moment, it has been reviewed more than 1,700 times and it has an average rating of just 3.4/5. While some UK players praised the customer service they have received after joining NetBet, others have raised issues relating to the speed of payments when withdrawing here.

NetBet Welcome Offer

When new customers create an account at NetBet for the first time, they have a choice of three different welcome offers to go for. The casino welcome bonus at NetBet has up to 500 free spins available to get, while the deal for poker players gives them the chance to triple their money up to £1,300 but, naturally, there are wagering and play-through conditions too.

On the sports betting side of things at NetBet, it is fair to say the currently available welcome bonus is a little underwhelming. UK sports fans are being offered a £10 free bet when they sign up and place a £5 bet builder (PayPal, Skrill or Neteller ineligible), which must meet certain qualifying conditions. The £5 bet builder will need to include a minimum of three selections and be at minimum odds of 3/1.

The £10 free bet, which can be used on accumulators on any sport on the NetBet sports betting site, will then need to be used up within the seven-day time limit, or it will expire. The £10 stake for the NetBet free bet in the welcome offer will not be returned in any winnings. Customers will need to place their £5 qualifying bet builder within 30 days of signing up here.

net bet parlour

As the sports offer is not that generous at NetBet, it might be more tempting to go for the deal on the casino sign-up deal instead. Players can get up to 500 free spins as long as they make a deposit of at least £10. The winnings from the free spins at the NetBet casino will need to be played through 40 times before they are unlocked and can be withdrawn.

As with the sports betting welcome offer at NetBet, depositing with either PayPal, Skrill or Neteller will not get access to the casino deal for new customers. A bonus code also needs to be entered - NBWELCOME500 - whereas no such code is required for the sports offer.

The first 50 free spins given out in the NetBet casino new customer offer will be credited instantly following the first deposit that is made in the site's cashier using the bonus code. Up to 450 additional free spins will be randomly distributed on a daily basis for the next six days following deposit. Details of the extra free spins will be sent via email, with players needing to make sure that they opt in to receiving marketing messages to ensure that they get them.

The 200% bonus for new poker players who join NetBet is also well worth considering here. Customers can triple their money up to the value of £1,300, so this could be a good one for serious poker players who also want to play some slots or bet on sports on the side too. A NetBet poker client is available to download, with a massive range of tournaments to enter.

NetBet Promotions

Along with the various welcome offers for new customers who join NetBet, there are a whole host of other promotions to make use of, both on the sports betting site and the casino site.

During the football season, NetBet is offering a £1,000 jackpot if customers are able to predict five anytime goalscorers for a series of selected matches. Those who get the full five out of five right will receive £1,000 as a cash prize, while missing out on just one will earn a £50 free bet that must be used within seven days. NetBet will give out a £10 free bet for getting three out of five anytime goalscorer guesses right and a £2 free bet for two right.

Another guessing game at the NetBet sportsbook has a prize of £500 up for grabs as well. There are four picked games to guess the final score on and getting them all right will see customers get the full £500 in cash. Three correct score predictions out of four will earn NetBet customers a £20 free bet, while two out of four will earn a £5 free bet at NetBet.

netbet promotions

Elsewhere, horse racing fans can benefit from a Best Odds Guaranteed offer for UK and Irish meetings, in line with a similar BOG promotion at leading online sports betting sites. Other common horse racing betting promotions such as faller insurance or money back if a horse finishes second in a race by a certain distance are not yet being offered by NetBet.

Those who prefer to bet on football can get an acca boost that increases their winnings by as much as 50% if they make 14 or more selections. Trebles get a boost of 3%, while a four-fold will be paid out at 5% extra and a winning 8% five-fold receives 8% more back. The acca boost is only available on football at NetBet, whereas other sites have it for tennis too.

Football fans will also be happy to see NetBet is running a promotion that sees wagers on a team paid out if they take a two-goal lead at any point in the match. This '2 up' type offer was first pioneered by bet365, so it is good to see NetBet joining in. There are also some regular one-off promotions such as the chance to earn a £5 free bet by placing a £5 bet builder on eligible Premier League matches, so there is plenty on offer.

Casino promotions at NetBet include the Crack the Vault offer, where up to £5,000 in cash can be won. Players need to purchase a token for their chosen pot in the NetBet Club Shop.

NetBet Deposit Methods

The NetBet cashier has most major payment methods, which is good news. A minimum deposit of £10 is quite high when a lot of sports betting sites now allow their UK customers to add just £5, or even as little as £1, within a single transaction at the cashier. Below, we have wrapped up everything that you need to know about deposits at NetBet UK:

    Choose Your Payment Method

Following this, you will be offered several payment method options, and Android users will be happy to see that NetBet are one of few bookmakers who offer Google Pay as a method.

In our test, we regularly use debit cards to deposit the funds. However, we attempted to use this method five times with NetBet and were kicked out of our account with each attempt. Therefore, we deposited with Apple Pay on this occasion.

NetBet Withdrawal Methods

When it comes to withdrawing winnings from NetBet, payment options are largely the same as those that are available for making a deposit at the sportsbook. However, NetBet will only show the payment methods that have already been used by a customer, so choose carefully when depositing if you prefer fast access to your winnings.

    Choose Your Payment Method

Perhaps this was due to our choice of method when depositing (Apple Pay), but there was only one option offered to us to withdraw our funds: bank transfer. To begin the process, simply enter your bank details, including your account number and sort code.

    NetBet Withdraw 2
  • 3

    Enter the Withdrawal Amount

Following this, scroll down the page and you will be asked to enter your withdrawal amount, and then enter your NetBet password. Finally, tap the black 'Withdraw £_ from sport' button.

    Wait for the Winnings

Once you have done the above, you will be presented with a 'Withdrawal Receipt' - this page will show you the payment method, date of transaction, and the status of the withdrawal.

In our test, we were not informed that we had to submit documents for our withdrawal to be completed, meaning we were without our funds for almost a week until we chased NetBet up about the situation. However, after they had validated the documents, our payment was received in around 6 hours, which is very good.

How to Verify An Account on NetBet

NetBet UK customers might find they need to fully verify their account before withdrawing. The site notes that users will need to provide proof of identity and/or a home address, with this step being an industry standard that is now required by all the main regulating bodies.

During registration, NetBet runs an automatic check to verify the date of birth and address. If this automatic check passes, there will be no need to upload any form of ID to the site. If it does not pass, It is quick and easy to upload documents for verification purposes at NetBet UK.

Users can simply go to their inbox and click on the 'create message' button that appears on the page. Here, it will be possible to upload up to three documents (up to 20 MB) and submit them.

NetBet Sportsbook

NetBet has been offering online sports betting for more than two decades, so there is enough experience to provide a top-notch product. But can it match rivals who have much more brand recognition in the increasingly crowded UK sports betting market? At first glance yes, because there are nearly 40 different sports to bet.

Football is the clear focus at NetBet, with a pair of prediction games that can net players cash prizes, along with other deals such as bet builder enhanced odds and acca profit boosts. For a Premier League game, there are well over 300 different markets to pick from, so it is definitely in line with the best football betting sites out there.

Markets that are available for the NetBet bet builder tool include basics like which team will win and total goals to corners and players to be carded. Away from major events such as the Champions League and Premier League, NetBet also provides a high level of coverage for competitions around the world such as the Serie A in Brazil, reflecting the site's previous sponsorship activities around the Latin American region.

netbet sportsbook

Horse racing is the second most popular sport to bet on at NetBet. The site follows most of the top sport of king bookies by offering Best Odds Guaranteed for UK and Irish meetings. International meetings from as far afield as Chile and Australia are available to bet on, while there are even ante-post markets for top races in America such as the Kentucky Derby. With Timeform data available for UK races, studying the form is a real pleasure at NetBet.

Betting margins for Premier League matches at NetBet often stand at around the 5% mark according to our testing. This is very good, showing the football odds at NetBet will be some of the best around. For those punters seeking value, NetBet is therefore a very good choice.

Minor sports that are more popular in Europe, such as handbal, are covered to a high level at NetBet. The site was also named among the top 10 for cricket betting by us, so that is worth checking out There are also political betting markets and odds for the next elections in the UK and America, plus some specials like who will be crowned the winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Prize.

Esports betting continues to be on the rise in the UK. NetBet covers a wide array of esports including Call of Duty, Dota 2, Overwatch, Rainbow Six, Valorant and League of Legends. Top CS:GO matches sometimes even have more than 50 markets to pick from at NetBet.

Virtual sports are available as well, for those times when there are no live sports to bet on.

Live betting works well at NetBet but the approach feels a little stripped-back compared to some online betting sites in the UK. The in-play interface is quite basic but there is some data available for customers to browse when deciding whether or not to have a live bet. Streaming is one of the main things missing at NetBet and this is a service the site will likely need to consider adding if it is to be rated among the best.

NetBet Casino

Like the majority of top UK online bookies these days, NetBet is also home to a casino site. Players can easily switch from having a bet on the big race of the day to trying their luck on slots or live casino games as their wallet is shared, so there is no need to move any money.

Major providers like Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Playtech, Play'n GO and Evolution Gaming are among those with their games available to play on the NetBet casino site in the UK. A top menu can be used to narrow down the large game library by provider, for instance by only showing the Relax Gaming titles that are available. There is also a search box, so fans of a particular game will be able to type it in and immediately see if it is offered at NetBet.

Slots dominate the library with exclusives such as some NetBet branded games among those that catch the eye. Most of the globally famous slots are available to play here too and fresh options are added regularly. A new games section is worth checking out for the latest innovations in the online casino department, while there is a popular games area as well.

netbet casino

A live casino tab takes NetBet players to the lobby area, where they can browse myriad tables for classics like roulette, blackjack and baccarat. Live casino games are clearly very popular at the NetBet casino in the UK, as some tables had thousands of players when we took a look. Unusual live dealer games such as Stock Market, Funky Time, Treasure Island, Crazy Time and Mega Ball are likely to be popular picks. Fans of Deal Or No Deal and board game Monopoly can also try their luck with live casino versions of them at NetBet as well.

From the more than 1,000 casino games in total at NetBet, the majority are slots but there are about a dozen table games, for those who prefer not to play in a live dealer setting. Slingo games also have their own section, with variations on top slots like Starburst and a game based on the popular television game show Deal Or No Deal among those offered.

Jackpots were close to a maximum of £2 million when we checked out the NetBet casino. A top winners section shows the major prizes NetBet casino players have taken home on that day. While some NetBet games boast truly massive potential wins, the highest amount that featured on the casino leaderboard when we checked it out was a touch over £20,000.

Poker is often something of an afterthought at online casinos. However, NetBet is making a play to attract serious poker players. As well as the big welcome bonus aimed at signing up poker lovers, there is a NetBet poker client that is available to be downloaded on desktop. Some video poker games can also be found within the main casino section at NetBet.

NetBet casino players in the UK can earn rewards points by trying out their favourite games. Players Club at the NetBet casino site starts at Bronze Level, where all new users automatically join - there is no need to apply or to contact customer service to sign up. Players Club Points, which are called NetPoints, are earned and spent in the Club Shop. Elite is the top tier of the VIP rewards programme at the NetBet UK casino, with players who make it all the way to the highest level getting 4.5 times as many points for real money bets.

NetBet Mobile App

NetBet only launched its sports betting app in the UK relatively recently and it is clear there have been some teething issues. Users on both iOS and Android have been unimpressed with the service provided by the NetBet mobile sports betting app, but the operator has plenty of time to turn things around and develop one of the UK's best mobile betting apps.

Users have highlighted a series of bugs when using the NetBet sports betting app, while some have found it difficult to withdraw their winnings on the software too. As a result, NetBet customers might be better off using the NetBet mobile site for the time being.

NetBet Responsible Gambling

The NetBet UK site claims that safer gambling is "paramount in all that we do". The bookie aims to provide a "safe, sustainable and entertaining environment" for UK customers to use.

A variety of control options can be used by customers who sign up for an account at NetBet. Deposit limits and loss limits are both available, while it is even possible to set a limit on the amount of money that it is possible to bet within a certain period. Additionally, NetBet also provides sports fans with the chance to set reality checks, which will produce a pop-up if they have been logged in for a set period, as well as session timers, which do a similar job.

For those who have decided to take a break from using their NetBet account for sports betting, it is possible to take a time out, with the options starting from a minimum 24 hours.

netbet responsible gambling

NetBet customers can also opt for self-exclusion if they want to take a longer break from being able to use their account. An affordability calculator can also be used by customers to help them to decide how much money they would like to budget for their online gambling.

A fair gaming questionnaire is also available, while NetBet provides links to bodies such as GAMSTOP, GamCare, BeGambleAware, Gamban and Gambling Therapy on its site as well. In 2020, NetBet was one of a handful of UK-based operators to have been shortlisted for the Gambling Compliance Awards, being up for the Responsible Approach to Gambling prize.

NetBet Customer Support

TrustPilot users who have tried out NetBet a lot often praise the site's customer service department, but a big downside is the fact it does not yet run on a 24/7 basis in the UK. This is not uncommon for new betting sites, but NetBet has been around the block for a while now.

While the opening hours of 0900-2300 UK time are extensive, those who like to place bets in the night, perhaps as they are shift workers, will find themselves without access to help.

There is no email contact address available on the contact us page on the NetBet site either, with customers instead diverted to a contact form by which they can send a message. However, the form does not have the opportunity to include attachments, which can make it harder to explain some issues. Luckily, we found [email protected] is the email address to use.

NetBet's live chat agents are friendly and professional, with fairly speedy response times.
