In the modern world, betting via a mobile app is a desirable thing for most bettors. Betfair deliver on that front with a Android and iOS offering available to customers. You have two routes to downloading the Betfair app.
The first is to navigate to your respective app store and search for 'Betfair'. Here you will see three apps on offer - Sports Betting, Betfair Exchange and Casino. For the purposes of this Betfair app review, we'll be focussing predominantly on the Sports Betting app. It has a five-star rating from over 100k reviews on the iOS app store.
Your other route to download the app is direct from the Betfair website. To do this, head on over to betfair.com. You will be met with a new sign up offer dominating the screen, scroll down from here and you will see a yellow and black banner that clearly directs you to "download our apps". Click it.
Regardless of your direction of choice, you will now be a click or two from betting on the Betfair app.
The Betfair sign up process is an easy one. You can follow our step-by-step Betfair app sign up instructions below:
As we begin our Betfair registration steps, we are assuming you have already downloaded the app. If not, either head to the website or your app store to download it.
From here, it's simply a case of opening the app and hitting the yellow 'Sign Up' button that is located in the top right corner.
Your first step of the 'proper' sign up process is to provide a couple of pieces of personal information. These are:
Once the above information has been provided, the yellow 'Continue to step 2/2' button at the bottom of the page will become active. Click it to proceed.
A requirement to sign up to pretty much anything nowadays means having to part with your email address and creating a password. That is the first two pieces of information you'll have to drop here.
After that, it's a case of setting a security question and answer before moving on to a couple of preferences. These include your preferred currency and the configuration of a deposit limit.
Once done, acknowledge the 'Funds Protection' notification, assuming you're happy to do so, and then hit the 'Sign Up' button.
Sorry, Betfair might lay out a two-step sign up process but there is actually a third that pops up on completion of the prior stage. It's a quick one though.
All you have to do is decide what information you want to be contacted about via a set of toggles and then, via the same method, set how you want to be contacted about those said subjects.
There are a whole host of payment methods available to punters on the Betfair app, but the default when using the iOS app is via Apple Pay. We have you covered on the Betfair app deposit process below with our step-by-step guide.

Once you are logged into the Betfair app, your account balance will be visible in the top right corner alongside the head & shoulders account icon. Hit the account balance.
You are now in your account overview. A white 'Deposit' box will be clear to see in the top left corner of your screen. Click it.
The default view here will be a 'Popular' tab that initially shows Apple Pay. You can create more popular methods utilising the small blue cross on the right-hand side or navigate to the 'Other methods' tab for a more detailed view of payment options.
Depending on your payment method, you can configure your deposit amounts in a couple of different ways.
You can use a free input, which is shown below with the Apple Pay method, where you simply key in the amount you want to deposit or utilise pre-defined buttons that add a certain amount.
Once you have defined your amount, enter any relevant payment details and hit 'Pay'.
You will see a confirmation screen appear. Hit ok.
The straightforward steps to withdraw funds out of the Betfair iOS or Android app are as follows:
In the top right corner, tap on your account balance; this is shown next to the "My Account" icon.
When accessing your account section, there are two buttons located at the head of the page. Hit the 'Withdraw' button on the right hand side.
Your default withdrawal method will be as per the method you deposit through. To withdraw your funds through that method simply update the 'Amount' section and his the yellow 'Withdraw' button at the bottom of the page.
If, however, you want to change to a different payment method, simply navigate to the 'Other methods' tab. During our test, our withdrawal was instant.
You can get our detailed thoughts on the Betfair sportsbook in our more in-depth operator review, which contains pros and cons. This here is very much a Betfair app review and, as such, we deliberately steer more towards how the app performs as a sportsbook.
It’s good news on that front too. The navigation is fairly intuitive with a scrollable horizontal bar heading the screen whilst a ‘browse’ function is available in an ever-present bottom bar; these allow you to navigate to specific sports and events.
Once in a sport, such as football, the view changes. The look and feel remains similar, but you get simple headings followed by a set of popular events and betting forms. Under that, you can see Betfair’s best offers for the sport in question.
Scroll further down and you will come to the actual markets. Events and their odds are clearly presented. Icons alongside them show whether they have offers against them whilst others indicate the availability of live streaming or if the event is in fact live now.
Another click on an event will drill you further into them, exposing much greater marker depths. Betting on anything from here is super simple.
There are multiple Betfair app choices on the app store, one of which is a casino offering. Despite us downloading the sportsbook, an element of casino play is still accessible.
It's a tidy offering as well. From a navigation standpoint you can quickly drill through different sections whilst there are also various display options that enable a customisable view.
As for the array of games on offer, you can access to blackjack, roulette, megaways, slots and a live casino offering. Featured amongst these are some strong brand names as well with "Lucky Bass" and "12 Pots of Gold Drums".
Under your account details, you can scroll all the way to the bottom to locate a 'Help & Support' section.
The support you receive is pretty decent as well. The headline offering is a live chat function that is in operation into the early hours of the morning.
Admittedly, the navigation through to a human is a little painful, with the AI bot screening messages slightly annoying. We managed to liaise with an agent within a couple of minutes.
If, however, you don't need a human interaction, you will still find the help of a fairly detailed FAQ featuring questions from 14 different categories.
We do not currently recommend that you sign up with Betfair as an operator. This is a Betfair app review though, and, as the app goes, there is plenty to like.
The navigation is slick, there are a host of sports to delve into and the market depth within each sport is good too.
Throw in a tidy casino offering on the side and a fairly strong customer support function, and there are definitely worse apps in the market.
