The 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts moves onto night 7 at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff. Home favourite Gerwyn Price will be aiming for back-to-back victories after producing some magical darts on his way to his second nightly win this season in Nottingham last week.
'The Iceman' extended his fantastic winning run against Littler to six games during a clinical 6-3 win against the teenager in the final which firmly cemented the Welshman's place in the top 4 in the table as he closes the gap on the top two.
Stephen Bunting played well once again last week averaging 102 and reeling in the big fish in the penultimate leg, but Price came out victorious 6-4 to condemn 'The Bullet' to a sixth consecutive defeat leaving him stranded at the bottom of the table.
Luke Littler reached his fourth nightly final on Thursday and catapulted himself above Luke Humphries to the top of the league table. He came from behind to beat the World Number 1 6-4 in a brilliant quarter-final contest and then overcame Rob Cross 6-3 in the semi-finals, averaging 107 and producing three 100+ checkouts.
Despite failing to make it to a final in the year's Premier League, Michael van Gerwen sits 4th in the table after his fifth semi-final exit of the season. A battling 6-4 victory over the in-form Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-final was joyous before ultimately being blown away 6-1 by Price in another semi-final defeat.
Chris Dobey is going through a tough time at the moment and is now on a 6-match losing streak in the Premier League after a 6-2 defeat to Rob Cross last week. Dobey will be hoping for a change of luck after his beloved Newcastle broke their 70-year wait for a Domestic Trophy by winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
Rob Cross has moved onto 8 points after his semi-final defeat to Luke Littler, the same points total as Nathan Aspinall. 'The Asp' was poor last week averaging just 89.04 in a 6-4 defeat to MVG.
Michael van Gerwen was the only Premier League participant to enter the Players Championships in Hildesheim this week but pulled out of the second event after losing in the first round 6-3 to Niko Springer averaging just 88.94 on Tuesday.
Stephen Bunting is still waiting for his first victory on his return to the Premier League but he was unlucky again in Nottingham where he lost to Gerwyn Price 6-4 with a 102.11 average. I tipped him to beat Price last week as I felt he was starting to play better and I'll do the same again in Cardiff.
Chris Dobey has really struggled over the past 5 weeks and has now lost six matches on the bounce since making it to the final of Night 1. Both he and Bunting have now lost touch with the pack and are languishing at the bottom of the table. Dobey didn't play badly last week but again was punished for missed doubles as he hit just 2/7 on the outa ring.
This is a huge match for both of these players but for me, I think Bunting looks much more comfortable at the moment and I expect him to come through this match and earn his first points of the season.
Michael van Gerwen hasn't averaged over 98 on TV since Night 2 of this year's Premier League when he beat Chris Dobey with a 98.96. He's certainly not looked himself over the past few weeks and has lost early in the UK Open, Euro Tour 1, and in PC07 on Tuesday.
He's failed to make it past the semi-final stage in all of the first six weeks of the Premier League but still finds himself 4th in the table, but could do with some results to extend his two-point cushion over Cross and Aspinall for the Playoffs.
Luke Humphries has now lost back-to-back quarter-finals in the Premier League since climbing to the top of the table after winning night 4.
He also lost his opening match at Euro Tour 1 against Mike De Decker. He hasn't played badly but he definitely hasn't looked the same since his agonising 10-9 defeat against James Wade in the UK Open quarter-final.
I expect this match to be a nervy affair with both of these two desperate to turn their fortunes around. Humphries has lost his last three matches in the Premier League and Euro Tour all 6-4 so I think whoever wins here the scoreline looks to be a tight one.
As I mentioned earlier MVG hasn't averaged over 98 on the big stage for over a month so the odds of him failing to do so again in Nottingham looks very enticing.

Luke Littler continues to impress during his second Premier League campaign and has now risen to the top of the table after making it to the final of four of the last five weeks, winning two of them.
'The Nuke' lost in the final to Gerwyn Price in Nottingham but averaged 103.39 and hit 7 maximums. Price seems to be the only player in the world he can't beat at the moment and has now lost his last six matches against 'The Iceman'. They could meet in the semi-final in Cardiff which would be a mouth-watering clash in front of the Welsh fans.
Nathan Aspinall lost his opening match in the Premier League for the first time since Night 2 6-4 against MVG. He only averaged 89.04 in that match but his recent return to form has catapulted him into the playoff picture and is just two points behind the Dutchman who is in 4th.
The teenager's recent 19-match unbeaten run has solidified him as the best player in the World right now and it doesn't look as though he's going to stop anytime soon. Littler leads the head-to-head record 10-1 and has won both the pairs meetings in the Premier League this season with the most 180s and highest checkout.
Gerwyn Price returned to form in Nottingham after back-to-back quarter-final defeats in the Premier League. He played brilliantly to claim his second weekly title of the season and move up to third place in the table. He'll be looking to put on a show in front of his home crowd in Cardiff and after winning last week, he looks set to do just that.
Rob Cross played well again last week. He beat Chris Dobey 6-2 in the quarter-final with a 100.90 average but ultimately fell short in the semi-final to the brilliant Luke Littler who averaged 107.82. 'Voltage' averaged 103.88 in that match so there are plenty of positive signs for the future.
For me, Price looks so fluent at the moment and as the showman he is, I expect him to produce a top-quality performance in front of his Welsh fans.
Cross only hit two 180s in Nottingham despite averaging over 100 for the night, whereas Price hit 9 in 3 matches so I think the value is certainly there for 'The Iceman' to outscore and beat the Englishman.
