AK Bets has several sister sites that use the same Playbook gaming software including PricedUp, NRG, Planet Sport Bet, Dragonbet, BetWright and many more.
AK Bets was launched in 2021 by the founder and current owner Anthony Kaminskas. In other words, it's still considered to be one of the new betting sites in the UK. It has been particularly active in horse racing, though we feel there are much better options out there for the sport of kings.
Star Racing Limited used to operate the site under a white-label agreement, but AK Bets secured a licence of its own in the spring of 2025. As for the site platform, it's provided by the well-known Playbook Gaming, which works with several other sites in the UK.
Below, we review each of AK Bets' sister sites and as they are fundamentally the same product, we focus on the differences between them.
StarSports feels like an obvious first choice here, not just because the quality is very high, but also because AK Bets used to operate under StarSports' UKGC licence. While that may no longer be the case, the two sites are still very much connected through the Playbook Gaming platform.
Despite also having a background in horse racing, StarSports has certainly branched out more than AK Bets, offering dedicated markets for politics, various TV shows and more. In short, the bookie is keeping an eye on what is popular and might interest punters, which is always a good thing. Overall, it's a very solid site.
PricedUp hasn't been around for as long as AK Bets, or StarSports for that matter, but it's a fitting option here thanks to the horse racing focus. Indeed, the bookie has made a name for itself rather quickly through price boosts for big events and general marketing. And of course, the foundation is very solid.

Everything is very similar to what you see on AK Bets, but PricedUp also offers a section for bingo, which may come in handy for some. There is also a decent app to download, while we were pleased with our withdrawal test of the bookie. In short, just because it's newer doesn't mean it lacks quality.
DragonBet is our final choice here, seeing as the background is somewhat similar to AK Bets. The Lovell brothers, who own the brand, took over the on-course business from their dad (John Lovell Racing) and moved into the online world in 2022. While it wasn't the case initially, the site is now powered by Playbook Gaming.
There is a focus on Welsh sports, as also shown by the colour scheme, and the layout is just like its sister sites. The news section is a nice touch, similar to the tips section that AK Bets offers, and the bookie has also prioritised customer support. The £1 minimum deposit amount isn't too bad either, albeit not unique to the site.
