What Is the Grand National?

The Grand National festival is most known for its main race, which is of course the Grand National. Many deem the race to be the best and biggest in UK & Irish racing, and it is difficult to disagree with them.

In fact, it is probably the biggest betting event across the country, with many who do not care for horse racing tuning in to see if they can guess the winner.

Held at Aintree Racecourse, just outside Liverpool City Centre, the festival takes place across three days, with the headline race coming on the final day (Saturday). The 2026 rendition of the festival will take place between the 9th-11th of April 2026.
