Onto the evening session of Day 10 and tonight looks like a humdinger of a session with three previous winners of the PDC World Championship in action.
The fiery Welshman Gerwyn Price returns to the Palace for his 3rd round match under plenty of question marks and could do with a good performance to retain his Premier League Place. He faces an angry, out-of-form, but unbelievably talented Joe Cullen, in what looks to be a great match.
The in-form Dutchman, Jermaine Wattimena has looked very impressive over the last few months and he plays 2x World Champion, Peter Wright.
Rounding off the evening we have the reigning World Champion and World number 1, Luke Humphries. After another fabulous season, he won’t want an early exit here but faces a tricky game against Nick Kenny.
Gerwyn Price made easy work of his second-round match against Keane Barry, in what could have been a potentially tricky tie.
He breezed past the Irishman 3-0 hitting 1 maximum, a 39% checkout rate and a 91.32 average. It wasn't his best performance but he didn't have to produce any better against an out-of-sorts Barry.
Price will just be happy to have won his first game with no fuss, especially after having a lot of media critics on his back lately. He certainly has a lot of eyes on him right now and hasn’t particularly helped himself at times with his social media posts but it was good to see his aggression back again during his first match because he plays better that way.
Sometimes with the Welshman, it's just a matter of whether he really wants to be at a tournament, but he has reiterated his commitment recently to the sport and has also now claimed he would like to be selected for next year's Premier League, after previously ruling himself out.
At times this season, he’s shown real form, especially at the World Series events, winning 2 of them. He’s going to need a really solid performance tonight though to get past Cullen and I expect him to be bang up for this match.
Joe Cullen was absolutely superb in his second-round match, dismantling the highly tipped dark horse of this tournament, Wessel Nijman in straight sets.
‘The Rockstar’ averaged 98.18 and hit a very impressive 8 maximums. He looked back to his brilliant best which didn't surprise me at all because like I said in previous previews, he always seems to play well at Ally Pally.
It was a very strange reaction after he won the match though and I felt like he completely let himself down. He barely said a word in his post-match interview on stage and then stormed out of his press conference because he felt disrespected by the media for being the underdog.
I think the majority of darts fans tipped Nijman to win because Joe has been so out of form this season and I don't think his reaction will do him any favours with the Ally Pally crowd and could potentially affect his next performance.
I do believe he used being written off by the media to his advantage to fuel his concentration and will to win, which without doubt helped his performance and if can do that again tonight he will definitely cause ‘The Iceman’ plenty of problems.
The first stat that springs to the eye is the fact Price only hit 1 maximum in his first match and Cullen had 8 in the same amount of sets. The reason for the Welsman’s lack of 180s could well be because Barry was so off it but there's definitely value in that market for me.
This is a really hard match to predict because you genuinely don't know how either of them are going to play because they’ve both been so inconsistent this year I’d stay away from the match result but I think there'll be plenty of sets.

Jermaine Wattimena has continued his brilliant recent form at this year's World Championship with 3-0 wins against Stefan Bellmont and James Wade, averaging 98.54 and 99.17 respectively.
He was particularly impressive against Wade, especially as ‘The Machine’ didn't play badly at all and averaged 97.01 but the Dutchman managed to easily brush him aside.
His consistency in this tournament has been superb and if he carries on in this vein he could well be primed for a deep run at this year's World Championship and will regain his place in the World's top 32.
My worry with Wattimena is at times he seems to lose his way in matches, whether it's a lack of concentration or the fact he gets frustrated quickly, I'm not sure, but lately he’s seemed to be fully concentrated and confident which is why he's producing such high numbers consistently.
In the last few months ‘Machine Gun’ has had a fabulous time on TV, with a brilliant run to the final of the European Championships and two good tournaments at the Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals. He came into this tournament on form and is showing no signs of slowing down so far.
Peter Wright came through a real stern test in his first match against the in-form Wesley Plaisier. ‘Snakebite’ showed real grit and managed to win 3-1 with an 89.63 average.
He will know he’ll need to be a lot better tonight though and as a 2x time champion here, he certainly has plenty of experience on that stage.
The biggest problem for the Scotsman is that he’s just been so out of form for the majority of the season and really needs to find some regular consistency.
He had only won 2 games in his last 13 before this tournament which certainly isn't promising and he’s also fallen outside the top 16 in the world for the first time in a decade.
Wright did win the German Darts Championship on the European Tour in August which clearly shows he still has an elite game in him.
Jermaine Wattimena has shown he's a prolific 180 hitter again since returning to form this season and Wright is certainly not the power scorer he once was so there’s value once again in the 180 markets.
I never like predicting against Peter Wright because he’s clearly so capable, but this time I am because Wattimena has been so good in his first two displays that I think he will be too strong for the faltering Scotsman.

Luke Humphries didn't have the best performance in his opening game against Thibault Tricole but got the job done 3-0 with a 90.79 average.
As the reigning and defending World Champion, it's never easy to put on a big performance in your first match, especially when playing on the opening night, so I definitely expect improvement as the tournament progresses.
After another scintillating season winning 3 TV Tournaments and making 3 other finals, he’s now World Number 1 by a staggering £1,000,000. Ridiculously I also think he hasn't hit his peak yet and with Luke Littler now on the scene, I think that benefits ‘Cool Hand’ tremendously and will motivate him more than ever to keep improving.
He will be relishing the chance for an epic showdown with Littler in the Semi-Finals should they both reach that point but Humphries hasn't got the easiest route to get there and will have to potentially navigate past Wattimena, Wright, Bunting or Heta to get there.
Of course, he will be fully focused on getting through tonight's game first but I think he's ready to go on another deep run here at Ally Pally.
Nick Kenny has played tremendously to get this point after big wins against Stowe Buntz and the great Dutchman, Raymond van Barneveld. Although only having an 87.66 average in the first round and an 86.39 average against Barney, he hasn't done a lot wrong and has managed to beat what's in front of him very efficiently.
He needs another big win this evening to miraculously save his Tour Card but obviously faces an extremely difficult task and will need to massively improve to trouble the World Number 1.
The Welshman has done brilliantly to get to this far in the tournament but this will almost certainly be a bridge too far and I expect Humphries to win this pretty comfortably.
Humphries is so hard to beat right now and he’s the only player in the World at the moment who is seemingly able to handle Littler on the big stage and that counts for a lot.
