The 2025 BetMGM Premier League is now at full speed as we move onto the 3Arena in Dublin for night 3. Last week, Luke Littler finally got a little bit of luck and some results to reflect his fantastic performances so far in 2025 as he won his first weekly title in Glasgow.
The reigning Premier League champion was 5-1 down in his opening match but showcased his comeback skills to beat Rob Cross 6-5. He then beat Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries en route to the £10,000 first prize.
An average of over 102 for the night and big wins against rivals MVG and Humphries will certainly lay down a marker for the rest of the field and show them that 'The Nuke' is still well and truly the man to beat.
Stephen Bunting and Nathan Aspinall are both looking for their first wins in this year's Premier League after losing to MVG and Gerwyn Price in the opening matches last week. I always felt Aspinall may struggle this year because of his problems last season but I'm certainly surprised at the way Bunting has started.
'The Bullet' came into this Premier League in arguably the form of his career and so far it just hasn't happened for him and it doesn't get any easier tonight as he faces World Number 1 and top-of-the-table, Luke Humphries.
The two stand-out games tonight for me are Gerwyn Price vs Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen vs Chris Dobey. Both these matches have every chance of being Premier League classics but hopefully, we have less trouble with the crowds this week as the whistling in Glasgow certainly soured the night.
The PDC did make a statement last week concerning the whistling at recent events and it looks as though they're ready to make a stand and stamp it out of the sport. We can't continue to allow the crowd to affect games as it spoils the night for the players and for the fans watching on TV.
I've been tipping Gerwyn Price to beat Luke Littler a couple of times so far this year and that's only because I feel as though Price gets excited for these big matches and always produces quality.
Littler won in Glasgow last week and looked brilliant at times but he was a little fortunate in his quarter-final match with Rob Cross after trailing 5-1. 'The Nuke' played superbly to come back and win that match but you're always relying on a little bit of luck for a comeback like that to happen. The teenager did go on to beat both Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries to win the night but it could have all been so different had Cross held onto his lead.
I'm certainly not saying Littler is playing badly, he's been magnificent all year and perhaps deserved a little luck last week but I do feel he may be slightly frustrated with playing well and losing at times this year.
Price hasn't caught a light so far in the Premier League this year but he has won the last four meetings with Littler, including wins at the Bahrain Masters and on the PDC ProTour earlier this month. The odds just seem too big for me, especially over a best-of-11 match, anyone is vulnerable in this format and for that reason, I'm happy to tip this result.

Rob Cross surrendered a 5-1 lead against Luke Littler last week but did play well averaging 99. It will certainly hurt him though and that may well still be at the back of his mind going into Dublin on Thursday.
As I said before, Darts is all about momentum, and 'Voltage' may have been rocked by last week's result and that could well halt his positive progress so far this season. Cross travelled to Holland for two ProTour events during this week, something I don't understand at all.
I do feel like some players are burning themselves out too quickly by travelling to these events and then travelling to a Premier League night the same week. Managing your schedule has become a huge issue in darts, now that there are so many tournaments so I worry about Cross's energy levels this week in Dublin.
Nathan Aspinall also travelled over to Holland but I can understand his reasoning as he needs to get some matches under his belt after struggling so much with injury and rhythm over the past 18 months.
He played much better last week in Glasgow averaging 96.25 in a 6-4 defeat to Gerwyn Price. 'The Asp' lost his first 3 games in last year's Premier League before turning round his fortunes so he won't be panicking too much yet.
Aspinall seems to be turning a corner and with his experience in the Premier League over the years, I can see this being the night he turns his fortunes around, especially after Cross's loss to Littler from 5-1 up last week.
