After their 1-1 draw with Leeds United and Ruben Amorim's subsequent rant, Manchester United have decided to sack the Portuguese manager.
Below are the latest betting odds for Manchester United next permanent manager at the time of this post.

After their 1-1 draw against Leeds United at the weekend, Ruben Amorim offered quite an abrasive press conference. Effectively stating that he was planning to leave the club once his deal was up, regardless of what happened, as the BBC relayed.
Of course, it has been a difficult week for the club, drawing with Wolverhampton Wanderers and then failing to beat one of their biggest rivals in Leeds. However, the standards of the club must be upheld, and with the Portuguese at the helm, it certainly seemed things were getting more toxic.
So, the manager has now been sacked, with David Ornstein breaking the news this morning. An almost inevitable move that has been waiting for far too long. Who will be next in the driving seat?
Let's go over the favourites to replace Ruben Amorim and the odds for each manager.
Oliver Glasner is one of the most interesting managers in the Premier League, simply for his ability to make an immediate impact and make the most of players. In short, he is probably exactly what Manchester United needs.
With his contract expiring in the summer, it feels a bit early to make a move for the Austrian. So, the Red Devils may look for an interim option for the time being, especially since Palace are still fighting in Europe.
I think he'll end up in Manchester eventually, but I'd have doubts if he's the next permanent manager, at least in a betting sense.

A move for Enzo Maresca would be really, really interesting, considering he has just left Chelsea. However, there has been a lot said about his ability to build a group and he oversaw some big results with the Blues.
I don't mind this shout in all honesty, but with the constant links to Manchester City, whether he'd take a move to Old Trafford is a question in itself. I'd avoid at 6/1.

Laurent Blanc's name being this high in the mix is not really a shock, given that he is a high-level name with elite managerial experience, as well as having formerly represented the club in the early 2000s.
His last job was in Saudi Arabia, where he led At Ittihad to a domestic double, but he was sacked early into the 2025/26 season. Questions are certainly there to be asked about him as a candidate.
However, there are worse options that could be brought in. At 10/1, though, it feels like there are probably better opportunities.

Amorim's sacking coming this early is a really strange one. Whilst it makes sense, it leaves United looking for a manager with a few months left of the season, and for the candidates expected to be linked to the job, most have goals to finish this season.
This is, of course, something to consider, and it would lead me to consider a few short-term candidates before looking at longer-term options.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returning to the Theatre of Dreams could be a possibility in the short and long-term. The Norwegian coach did fantastically in his first spell, and with him available currently, he would be an easy interim option. At 14/1, there are worse prices available.
Similarly, Michael Carrick could do a job for the short-term. However, he certainly is not as strong a pick as Ole would be. He feels more unrealistic, despite only being 16/1, which is probably not worth it.
Darren Fletcher, as we'll get to, is only 2/1 with BetVictor to be the next permanent manager, which just isn't worth it at all in my opinion. He is expected to take over on an interim basis, which explains why the bookmaker has him at such a short price.
In terms of the longer options, Marco Silva is a name that has been linked with several established Premier League jobs for years now. Similarly to Glasner, his deal expires in the summer, and INEOS may try to take a punt on him.
A move for Andoni Iraola could also be of interest to the Red Devils, given his work with Bournemouth. He may be an easier candidate to bring in now than some of the others linked...
It is certainly a difficult market to read, largely due to the timing. However, Sky Bet are offering the market for the first game of the Premier League season, rather than the next permanent manager, which could be worth considering if you are placing a bet.
Of course, this explains why Fletcher is as high as 50/1 on Sky, compared to BetVictor.
