Wycombe Wanderers proved they are not yet ready to give up their promotion hopes at the weekend, while Huddersfield Town battled back from 2-0 down. For Wrexham, it wasn't as nice of a story.
Shock horror of the weekend, Birmingham City won again! I said in the last odds update, the Blues look unstoppable right now and this will probably not change any time soon.
A 1-0 win against Exeter is not a result that is the difference at the end of the season. However, it is the ability to get 1-0 wins consistently against teams that will make it difficult that make the difference. Birmingham do that, that is why they are the undisputed league leaders.
Wycombe follow in second place and bookmakers have them as the second favourite to go up or win the title still. I have been quite dubious about the Chairboys with some big losses in January already, but they did not show any care for that this weekend.
A 2-1 win against Mansfield away from home is a very good result all things considered, and the goal coming late on shows how their spirits have not been affected by the departure of Matt Bloomfield.
12/1 is still available for them to win the league with an E/W place available, making it effectively 5/1 for them to finish second. It could be more valuable than a promotion spot.
Wrexham fell before the start of the weekend to Shrewsbury via two John Marquis goals, and despite coming out on top statistically, they were unable to get the job done. Perhaps this could be a worry moving forward.
I'm still quite behind Huddersfield Town and their odds, I must admit. The Terriers signed Joe Taylor and Dion Charles to strengthen a weak attacking line, but have since lost Michal Helik. Taylor opened his account for the West Yorkshire outfit at the weekend, but it was part of a 2-0 comeback, rather than a victory.
Regardless of this, I still fancy Michael Duff's team heavily, and the same E/W markets are offering 20/1 for Huddersfield to win the league, making a second-place finish almost 10/1 with E/W.
Barnsley lost their first in five games at the weekend, which will leave the teams above them sighing in relief. Stockport also won their first game in four, which could return them into the promotion conversation.
Below, we have collected the top four teams and their respective odds to gain promotion in the 2024/25 League One season.

At the bottom of the table, things are equally as exciting. The four relegation places are still open to a degree and the teams above them are not kicking up any trees.
We'll start with Burton, who drew again at the weekend. Maybe it could be argued that it was a good result. However, failing to beat Crawley, who also look really poor is a telling sign, unfortunately.
Cambridge on the other hand picked up a very big draw. Despite Bolton Wanderers' struggles, they are still a force to be reckoned with and picking up a 2-2 draw is a very decent result indeed. It hasn't helped much, but there can be positives taken from the game.
We've already spoken about Shrewsbury a little bit, but winning against Wrexham is a HUGE result. Goals from Marquis either side of the Wrexham equaliser show that the Shrews are not dead and buried just yet.
Crawley could have gotten close to exiting the relegation zone at the weekend if they had have beaten Burton. Of course, we know this did not happen. Like what I said for Burton, it is quite a telling result...
Peterborough and Northampton are certainly not showing too many signs of positivity either, so they could definitely fall into the drop.
