It's the international break, but the EFL are still continuing, at least in League One. A few games were postponed, but there was still a lot of drama in the third division.
Cardiff City did not play this weekend, with their game against Burton Albion postponed due to the international break. However, they still sit at the top of the League One table, and could create a three-point gap with a win against the Brewers.
Despite this, they are not the favourites to win the division. Instead, that position goes to Luton Town, who sit just outside of the play-offs currently. With that said, they too have a game in hand. If they can beat Blackpool, they will be in the top five at least.
So, we move to third place, where Huddersfield sit in the league and in the odds. Right now, they are 11/2 after their weekend performance, shifting marginally from their price of 6/1 after last weekend's loss against Barnsley.
The Terriers, again, were far from convincing against Peterborough, but managed to get the job done in front of a home crowd, which is the big thing. Right now, they are a point behind the Bluebirds, but that could become four shortly.
Bookmakers are still offering three E/W places, so if the Terriers are tickling your fancy a little, it could be worth taking a look at the odds, given they have looked fairly comfortable so far.
It could also be worth taking a look at Doncaster, who are not slowing down just yet. So far, they have drawn and lost one game, meaning they sit on 16 points from seven games, which is a very solid return.
A 3-1 win against Bradford is a big result for Rovers, and they are looking quite comfortable in League One, despite the step up in league. I'd not be rushing to back them personally, but the price is certainly intriguing.
With three places available with most bookmakers, the 22/1 price is somewhat intriguing. However, you would imagine that it would be quicker to disappear than get drastically lower. Though Donny are already 14s with some bookmakers.
Below, we have collected the top teams - aside from the big favourites - and their respective odds to finish top 6 in the 2025/26 League One season.
Starting things in the play-offs, we have Stevenage and Barnsley, who were set to face each other this weekend. However, the game was postponed due to international call-ups, so neither team can really be given too much focus here.
Nevertheless, they both remain in the play-offs despite this, showing that they are in strong positions, really.
Stockport are the big shocks of the weekend, as they were well beaten by Plymouth Argyle away from home. In fact, it is the first time that they have conceded four goals or more since the start of November 2024.
That loss, despite their place in the odds, has taken them down to ninth in the table. Unfortunately, an instant return to the play-offs may not be possible, with a few teams having games in hand.
I wouldn't be too worried about Dave Challinor's side, though. With that said, their defensive record certainly needs a bit of attention.
Bradford, then, sit in fifth after their first loss in League One since the 19th of April 2019, when Coventry City beat the Bantams at the Building Society Arena. It would only be right that their first loss in the division came against another side that were promoted last season.
Donny outclassed the visitors and walked to a 3-1 victory at home, with striker Billy Sharp going a little viral due to his chicken celebration in front of the fans. Things aren't going to fall apart as a result, far from it.
However, with a big West Yorkshire derby following this game, it will be a kick in the backside for Graham Alexander's men.
Lincoln City are an interesting one, and they could have earned a place in the top six this weekend with a win against Wigan. A brace from James Collins seemed to have things looking good. However, a Callum Wright equaliser would be the last goal of the game, despite two late red cards.
Right now, the imps sit on 12 points, only losing once, and 4/1 could be an interesting price for a 'Top Six' finish.
Another team of interest is Bolton Wanderers, who are the fifth favourites to get a spot in the Top Six. A 3-0 win against Wimbledon is a nice reminder that they can win games after four straight draws in a row.
Nevertheless, more needs to be done before I look at them as a proper contender; that price of just below evens is not too attractive, admittedly.
Below, we have collected the top four teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2025/26 League One season.

At the bottom, it is best to preface things by saying that there are a lot of teams that are yet to play their games, which could see things shaken up a little. Burton, for me, are the biggest example of this. They have two games in hand and are only a point into the drop zone.
However, Blackpool, Reading, even Rotherham and Northampton are on six games, so several teams around that area are 'behind' if you want to call it that, really.
It is best to start with Peterborough, who are bottom of the league. They scored two scrappy goals against Huddersfield, but still conceded three, and that is exactly why they have the lowest goal difference in the division.
Things really do not look great for Posh, but after their summer business, it is not really a surprise.
Port Vale also recorded their fourth loss in five games. It seemed like they were on their way to a third draw of the season - which would have kept them in 23rd - however, a last-minute winner from Leyton Orient ensured they stuck on two points.
Already, things are looking quite worrying for them too, points are just not arriving.
Wycombe Wanderers picked up three points, which has taken them outside of the bottom four, unfortunately, for our tipster James, who had another solid week of free betting tips.
The big talking point, though, comes from the South, where Plymouth Argyle smashed Dave Challinor's Stockport County side. This season they have shown little of much in the league, but that is a huge result.
Scoring four, of course, could be a chance. However, it is a start and a foot on the ladder. They are only six points away from being in the play-off conversation, if that, so Tom Cleverley's side could certainly start progressing.
