Premier League: Forest Hold League Leaders Liverpool To A Point - Odds Watch

Liverpool dropped another two points this weekend when they drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest, in what you could reasonably call a six-pointer at the top of the Premier League table. Nuno Espírito Santo quite remarkably, has his team just six points behind the league leaders. 

Forest took an early lead through talisman Chris Wood - the New Zealander has been in red hot form this season. Liverpool pulled one back thanks to Diogo Jota, but despite piling on the pressure in the second half, Forest managed to hang on to a huge point. The result left Liverpool at 4/11 to win the title this season. 

Are Nottingham Forest In A Title Race?

As discussed, Forest are undeniably in a title race as it stands. They had won 6 PL games on the bounce before drawing to the Reds in midweek and will be encouraged by their ability to pick up points against the big teams around them. They are 33/1 to win the title, and you can’t rule them out yet. 

Manchester City again dropped points in this gameweek; they’ve been so poor this season that it isn’t surprising anymore. They blew a 2-0 lead against Brentford after late goals from Yoanne Wissa and Christian Norgaard earned the Bees a point. As such, City’s odds to win the titles are at 22/1. 

Bournemouth And Chelsea Share The Points In Pursuit Of CL Spots

Bournemouth were denied victory at Stamford Bridge after Reece James’ late free-kick snuck past Mark Travers. The Cherries look set to take home all three points, which would’ve seen them go level with the Blues. A valuable point nonetheless, in their hunt for the top four this season, in which they are 20/1 to make it. 

Their opponents have really struggled of late to pick up points and are winless in their last 5 Premier League games. They’ll be disappointed to be dropping away from the title race and are likely to be settling for a finish in the Champions League places and are 8/13 to do so. 

Newcastle's emphatic 3-0 victory over Wolves was an important result in their pursuit of the top four places. Their three goals and resulting three points put them on 38 total for the season, and a point clear of Chelsea in 5th. They are 11/10 to make the top four. 

Unai Emery got the better of new and returning Everton manager David Moyes when the two faced off on Wednesday night. A sole Ollie Watkins goal kept Villa just three points behind 4th placed, and they are now 8/1 to be in the Champions League spots come the end of the season.

Wolves look a much improved side under Vitor Pereira, but were unable to take any points from a tricky trip to St. James Park. They were well beaten by Newcastle, as goals from in-form Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon saw them over the line. Wolves are 7/4 to make the drop to the Championship next season. 

David Moyes return as Everton manager didn’t exactly go to plan when the Toffees were beaten by Aston Villa. The team showed slight improvement but still looked devoid of goals or any creativity, as was the common theme under Sean Dyche. Everton are 11/4 to go down.

Crystal Palace continued their spell of recent good form as they beat Leicester 2-0. The Foxes may look certain for relegation, but the Eagles do not even after their torrid start this season. They’re now 25/1 to go down to the Championship. 

Spurs Fans Grow Tired Of Ange Postecoglu's Ways

The recent sackings of Sean Dyche and Julen Lopetegui have meant a huge change in the market for the next Premier League manager to leave post. 

There is a new favourite to do so, namely Ange Postecoglu. His brave football and stubbornness have led many Spurs fans to grow tired of his ways. He is 5/4 to be the next PL manager out of a job. 

Ivan Juric, who took over from Russell Martin as Southampton boss, is 5/1 to be the next manager sacked. While his reign has only been short so far, Southampton look no different. They lost 3-1 to Manchester United on Thursday after being 1-0 up until the 82nd minute, and have just 6 points this season. 

A similar story in the case of Leicester City, with their new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy placed at 5/1 to be the next PL manager relieved of his duties. Their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace left them on just 14 points for the season and two away from safety as it stands. 

Chris Wood and Isak Can't Stop Scoring

Alexander Isak again made the headlines for his brace against Wolves. The two goals saw his tally rise to 15 for the season, just three behind current golden boot race leader Mohamed Salah. The Swede is 5/1 to take home the award. 

Chris Wood also scored again when Forest played Liverpool. Just the one for him, but now on 13 for the season and showing no signs of slowing down. He is 50/1 to finish as the Premier League’s leading scorer. 

Cole Palmer’s fine form this season remains largely unaffected by his teams poor run. His goal in a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth was his 14th for the season, and he is 14/1 to win the golden boot.
