Martin Lukeman is enjoying his best run in a major since his impressive surge to the final of the Grand Slam of Darts. He also has positive memories of this event, having reached the quarter-finals here in 2024.

However, this represents a very tough test against the in-form Jonny Clayton. The Welshman has been playing some excellent darts recently, and it’s difficult to see a shock unfolding in this matchup.

In fact, it could prove to be a difficult evening for the Englishman. If Lukeman doesn’t stay in touch during the early stages, Clayton has the quality and momentum to pull away and potentially win this quite comfortably.

• Rob Cross To Win: 8/13 at William Hill

Daryl Gurney has been making steady progress on the outer boards, overcoming two dangerous opponents in Niels Zonneveld and Ross Smith. Gurney has reached two semi-finals at the UK Open in the past, and this represents his best run since 2020.

Rob Cross has been searching for his very best form for some time, but he continues to show flashes of his quality. Voltage appears to be gaining confidence again and has produced some strong performances in this tournament, notably defeating Gian van Veen 10-7 before edging past Mike De Decker in a last-leg decider.

The Englishman also has an excellent record in Minehead, having reached at least the quarter-final stage in five of his last eight appearances. Feeling comfortable at a venue can be a major advantage, and on that basis, Cross looks to have the edge and should have enough quality to overcome Gurney here.

• Gary Anderson To Win: 2/1 at bet365

Gary Anderson has been the player of the tournament so far, producing averages of 107.42 and 105.80. The Flying Scotsman looks primed for a deep run here, and even though he's been handed the hardest draw of all, this looks like a perfect opportunity to catch the defending champion out.

Luke Littler continues to find form at the right times, and he will need to do that again tonight. If he doesn't, he'll be in big trouble against the in-form Scotsman.

• James Wade To Win: 11/8 at Ladbrokes

Michael van Gerwen has gone under the radar in this tournament, but produced a fantastic performance to dump out Nathan Aspinall in his opener. The Dutchman averaged 101.89 and backed that up with a solid 10-6 victory over Kai Gotthardt.

James Wade continues his love affair with the UK Open, having won it three times in the past and reached the final last year. The Machine overcame a tough opening draw to edge past Chris Dobey 10-9, and then produced a dominant performance, beating Gabriel Clemens 10-2.

These two know exactly what to expect from each other, having played so many times in their careers. For me, though, Wade looks more likely to win the big moments, and if he does that, he can edge past the Dutchman.

• Krzysztof Ratajski To Win: 1/1 at Betfred

Ryan Searle produced a magical 13-dart leg to edge out Michael Smith 10-9 in the last round. Heavy Metal has struggled to replicate his semi-final run at Ally Pally so far this season, and could get caught out here against the solid Pole.

Krzysztof Ratajski's form has continued to improve since struggling with injury. The Polish Eagle had a fabulous run to the quarter finals at Ally Pally, and if he keeps his performance levels as solid as they have been, he should have enough to get past the Englishman.
