Below, you can find James's best bets for night six of the Premier League Darts in Nottingham. The odds were correct at the time of writing.
Josh Rock is playing well away from the Premier League stage and will feel he let one get away at the UK Open. Rocky was 9-7 up in the semi-final, before losing 4 legs on the bounce to lose 11-9 against Luke Littler.
The Northern Irishman has lost his opening 5 matches on debut in this tournament, and is in danger of being the whipping boy if this continues.
Stephen Bunting is showing signs of rediscovering his best form after claiming the title on Night 4. He was unlucky on Night 5, falling 6-5 to Gerwyn Price in his opener. The Bullet will know he needs to continue improving if he's to claim a spot in the playoffs, and tonight looks like a must-win match for both.
For me, though, Rock is starting to find some confidence again, and he defeated Bunting last week at the UK Open 10-7, so recent memories should work in his favour here.
Jonny Clayton is currently five points clear at the top of the table as he looks to claim the Premier League title for a second time. The Welshman has been magnificent on his return and will want to keep a distance between himself and the chasing pack.
Michael van Gerwen's positive start to the season seems to have been halted after being forced to pull out of night 3 with illness. Since then, he has lost two opening matches on the trot in the Premier League and suffered a disappointing 10-3 drubbing against James Wade at the UK Open.
I always find it difficult to back against MVG, simply because he's hard to predict, and still has such an incredible A game. I did, however, find value in the 180 market. Jonny Clayton continues to score high, and as I've said in previous tips this year, he's a criminally underrated maximum hitter.
Luke Humphries has been extremely unfortunate this season. He's played well, but has struggled to find consistent results. For me, it's only a matter of time before that changes, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go on and win the night in Nottingham.
Gian van Veen has looked a little burnt out over the past few weeks, which isn't surprising considering how busy his schedule has become. It's not like he's played badly at all, but playing at the elite level is still new to him, and he will get used to it with experience.
Luke Humphries will likely view the situation in much the same way. He'll recognise that this presents a real opportunity, and I expect him to take full advantage of it.
Gerywn Price was involved in a fantastic match against James Wade in the UK Open semi-final, but ultimately fell short, losing 11-8. His form continues to look sharp, and the way he's looked lately, I can't see it being long before he adds another Major title to his resume.
Luke Littler has quietened the critics over the last few weeks, winning 14 of his last 15 matches in all competitions, claiming ET1, Night 5 of the Premier League, and the UK Open last week. The Nuke seems almost unbeatable at times when he's in this kind of mood, and I can't see that changing again tonight.
The Iceman will make this competitive, but Littler's ability to find his form exactly when he needs it is a trait few people have.
