Below, you can find James's best bets for night nine of the Premier League Darts in Manchester. The odds were correct at the time of writing.
Michael van Gerwen looks back to his best again on the big stage, reaching the final last week, losing 6-4 in a great match against Luke Littler. I keep repeating myself over the last few weeks, but when MVG is laser-focused and enjoying it, he's extremely dangerous, and I can see that coming to fruition tonight.
Stephen Bunting has averaged 104 and 107 in his last two matches, but has run into a brilliant Littler on both occasions. It's clear he's settling down and looking more confident, but this is another big test for the Liverpudlian.
Luke Humphries has been producing some excellent darts in the Premier League this season and currently boasts a tournament running average of 100.47. Despite that consistency, he’s still searching for his first nightly win and finds himself just outside the playoff positions.
Gerwyn Price sits third in the table and, on current form, looks well placed to continue his push towards securing a playoff spot. He enjoyed a dominant victory over Humphries on night seven, winning 6-1 with a 109.04 average, and will be hoping to produce something similar again.
Humphries, though, is beginning to feel a bit of pressure and would dearly love to get the monkey off his back with a nightly victory. This has all the makings of a high-quality contest, and it’s hard to imagine it being as one-sided as their meeting a few weeks ago.
Gian van Veen is still finding his feet again after suffering from gallstones. The Dutchman needs to try to find his form again quickly, though, as he's now lost his last four Premier League matches and is in danger of being cut adrift from the playoff positions.
Luke Littler is targeting his fourth nightly win in five weeks, as he heads to Manchester to play in front of his home crowd. The Nuke is flying at the moment after a dodgy start to his campaign, and I can see him putting out another statement performance this evening as he looks to extend his lead at the top of the table.
Jonny Clayton has suffered back-to-back quarter-final defeats in the Premier League, but remains second in the league table, and eight points clear of Luke Humphries in 5th.
Josh Rock finally found his first win on the Premier League stage, beating Clayton 6-3 last week. It will be a massive relief for the Northern Irishman, and I can see him kicking on from here.
This is a repeat of last week, and Rock will feel far more comfortable now that he has some points on the board, so I can see this being a high-quality, tight contest.
