Luke Humphries and Luke Littler will renew their rivalry in the final of the 2025 World Grand Prix. This will mark the sixth time the pair have met in a televised final, with Humphries winning the most recent Major final between them in May at the Premier League.
Humphries joins Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen in the history books, as this will mark his third consecutive Grand Prix final. The world number one came through a battle to defeat Danny Noppert in the semi-final 5-3. Cool Hand started magnificently, racing into a 3-0 lead, averaging 110 in the first set and 115 in the third. He then stalled a little but battled back in the 8th set to get the job done with a 105.21.
The Englishman averaged 93.65 overall and hit 14 180s, something he will certainly have to replicate this evening to keep up with the teenager's immense scoring power.
Luke Littler breezed through his semi-final contest with Jonny Clayton 5-1 to reach his first World Grand Prix final. The Nuke laid down his mark early with a 161 finish in the first set and raced into a 2-0 lead.
The Ferret battled back well and looked set to level at 2-2 before Littler took out a majestic 140 to extend his lead to 3-1. Six consecutive legs after that were enough to get the job done and give himself an opportunity to win one of the very few titles that have eluded him thus far in his young career.
There is extra incentive on this match for The Nuke as the race for the world number one spot could be in touching distance with a victory tonight, something he could unbelievably achieve within 2 years of turning professional.
Luke Humphries has a wonderful record at this event, but this kid is a different breed of talent, a complete one-off ability-wise, and I think he will outscore and outplay the world number one tonight.
There will for sure be an unbelievable amount of quality in this dream final between the pair; both are big scorers, and of course, Luke Littler loves to reel in the big fish whenever he gets an opportunity.
