Cameron Menzies took advantage of an out-of-sorts Chris Dobey to win a match at the World Grand Prix for the first time. The Scot won in straight sets with an 84.24 average, losing just two legs in the process.
Rob Cross came through a tough test against Wessel Nijman in a last-leg decider. Voltage played some good stuff at times, and a win tonight will secure him a spot in back-to-back quarter finals at the World Grand Prix.
Cross should be too strong tonight, even if he seems a little out of form. Experience is everything, especially in this event, because it's double in.
Menzies can be a little erratic at times, and I expect him to miss a few doubles getting in, which will allow the Englishman to take advantage.

Stephen Bunting produced a fabulous performance to overcome the in-form Niko Springer in round one. The Bullet averaged 97.02, hit 5 180s, and lost just two legs en route to a straight sets victory.
The Englishman certainly looks in the mood for a run at this event, and it wouldn't surprise me if he picked up the title.
Danny Noppert progressed into the second round with a scrappy 2-1 victory over fellow Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena. Noppert has been in better form lately, but faces a tough task tonight against the big scoring Liverpudlian.

Luke Humphries breezed through to the second round after a tough first set against Nathan Aspinall. Cool Hand weathered an early onslaught to progress in straight sets.
It wasn't the best performance from the world number one, but he usually gets better as a tournament progresses, and I can see him laying down a marker tonight to the rest of the field.
Krzysztof Ratajski produced one of his best performances on TV during his 2-0 win over Martin Schindler in round one. The Polish Eagle averaged 95.94 and lost just one leg en route to the second round.
I think Ratajski may find it tough to replicate the performance from his first-round victory. Humphries has a great record over the last few years at the Grand Prix, making the final in back-to-back years, whilst the Pole has only got past this round once in five attempts.

Joe Cullen arguably produced the shock of the first round, as he breezed past the number 4 seed, James Wade, in straight sets. Cullen has been inconsistent over the past two years, and if he wants to progress here, he will have to get off to a quick start.
Gary Anderson averaged 90.06 during his win over Raymond van Barneveld in a last-leg decider. You never quite know what Gary Anderson is going to turn up nowadays, but he always seems to perk up for the big occasions, especially the further he progresses through a tournament.
The pace of play should benefit both in this match, but I think it will help Anderson more. The Scot seems to struggle at times playing methodical players, and Joe Cullen is far from the methodical type.
I do think this match is all about Cullen. If he starts quickly, he will have a chance, but if he doesn't, Anderson's vast experience should see him through in a good contest.
